  • Happy Halloween from Ordnance Lab! Ever wonder if pumpkins can be stuffed with explosives and turned into fragmentation land mines? Well, ponder no more. Jake spend days trying to convert innocent pumpkins into explosive Halloween lawn ornaments. You would think such a festive device such as an explosive pumpkin landmine would be totally featured on Etsy or other crafty outlets, but you would be wrong. Now, how effective is this device? Well, there is only one way to find out.

    Happy Halloween fellow energetic enthusiasts! We all hope everyone has a great holiday and enjoys this video to tie in with the festive nature of Halloween. Sean is a total curmudgeon when it comes to the holidays. Jake's love for Halloween helped him get through turning gourds into land mines. Not a fun task.
    What else would people like to see turned into explosive devices? Leave a comment and let us know!

      But you have the appropriate T-shirt! Chaos is more fun! But I am now slightly curious about the penetrative power of a pumpkin seed, given organic fragmentation can be very nasty. Especially secondary fragmentation. But seems a very sensible use of pumpkins. Not a fan. On which point, how about an eggplant grenade?

    Okay, so I make a pumpkin landmine... and the raccoons come to eat it... and then there aren't any raccoons. How much do you charge for your anti-raccoon jack-o-lanterns?
    Edit: If there is any call for future pumpkin mines, or other edible explosions, having a raccoon silhouette right next to the kaboom would help me know how many I want.

    I was pleased to see another video so soon after the last one. Now, Your thick walls of the pumpkin help to decelerate the balls as well as cause a downward trajectory assisted by gravity. It also removes a good portion of the imparted energy. Experiment: Next time elevate the pumpkin to waist level in stead of low to the ground. Experiment: Place something solid in the center of the pumpkin, then fill the space between the center core and the outer shell of balls with your media.. It should redirect a greater portion of the energy outwards. Good Video guys!

    So I got one for yall at ordinance lab. Remember I believe it was the 2nd Tremors movie where Bert had the underground concrete wall around the perimeter of his property? What if you made a standard chain link fence with the metal piping for the stands and framing but added a little extra. In the name of stopping graboids of course, what if you made a sorta reactive armor fence to add to the concrete wall. Using some form of impact detonated claymore style ordinance fastened to the chain link fence, maybe running det cord along the chainlink to trigger multiple of them in a concentrated area if only one is initially triggered by impact. I'm assuming some sort of pressure plate design for each piece of ordinance with det cord connected to each individual devices blasting cap.

    • @GRAFFREVIEWS
      @GRAFFREVIEWS 7 месяцев назад

      And in the name of science, maybe use some cheap salvage title compact vehicle to represent the graboid colliding with this contraption and to also simulate the kind of destruction it could possibly do to a large object colliding with it

    That last blast didn’t make a lot of punctures but at least it knocked one of the silhouettes down.
    And like the man said, you blowed them pumpkins up real good.
    A pumpkin’s rind is naturally kind of segmented like a frag grenade. If you could find a way to dry them fully the rind should harden like a regular gourd, the ones traditionally used by mesoAmericans to store things including liquids. The edges of those can be hard enough to cut human skin (don’t ask me how I know) so no ball bearings would be needed. I have no idea how long that would take, maybe an improvised dehydrator big enough to hold several pumpkins is in order.
    As always, thanks for a fun, informative video, if only on what not to do…
