The sheer joy of working to create an impression of the work Ian and friends did in studio is a TRIBUTE to works that have quickened the hearts of those of us who have the ears/hearts/minds matrices that HEAR. Thanks yet again…
One watches videos and thinks "Just how he manages all those chords?!", and the after explanation: "no, it can't be that simple!". And then on another replay: "just how he....?!" Excellent everything! As always. Thanks for the video!
Hey Stewart ! I'm part of the Vinyl Community gang ! Nice to hear you covering Ian and Martin's guitar work.. actually Ian primarily, right !! I'm an acoustic based player as well, and my first Tull show was June 16 1972. Las Vegas Convention Center ( Thick As A Brick Tour ).. Cheers ! JT
That's such a good cover and all those complex time signatures perfectly captured. Like you, I focus on solo covers recorded in real time - no multi-tracks. Some folks out there might not appreciate how difficult it is to deliver a good recording that that captures the essence of a song recorded thus. Well done again!
I really enjoy all your Tull songs. Whenever I feel like "I should learn song 'x'", I look you up, and see that you have probably already covered it, and then I mostly mimic it, or maybe make it a bit simpler for me to handle ;) The way you incorporate all those other instruments, like the organ in this one, is great. Looking forward to your next one, as always, Stewart.
I’m always impressed with your JT covers. Excellent! My wife and I do a couple of JT covers in our gigs. We have one on 2 July 2022 and we’ll cover Dun Ringill and Salamander. Hope I play them as well as you!
Like an Olympic ice skater "skating away" on a flawless program, you make it look easy. But that's hiding the incredible work of figuring out the arrangement, and *memorizing* it, both hand and mind...and a very short time after your previous post! Colors I've none, so do color me extremely impressed! As well as just delighted by the performance itself.
Excellent version of this song. After watching numerous videos of this song done by Ian Anderson and must say it is dead on to Ian note for note .Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you “hope it came off ok?”, lol. It was better then great! Your skills are special to say the least. We are grateful for that. Can you tell us the secret in how you lubricate your fingers? Is it the tea you drink, maybe olive oil, curious? Can you imagine the rehearsals when putting this album together, and then going out on tour playing it’s entirety? Then Ian would say, “and now for our second number “ lol. A masterpiece, passing the genius level. Thank you, and roll on Stewart .
Holy Mackerel! That was so intense! Very powerful indeed. You continue to outdo yourself. Great explanations of the chord sequence. It is so complicated, at least to me anyway. There's no way I could remember all of that. Do you memorize it, or do you just have the tune in your head and translate it to your fingers? While singing no less. If I can't do what I wish I could, at least you're here for all of us. I can't imagine what will be next. Saying thank you is never enough.
You have an incredible ear and do the most beautiful renderings of Ian's work that I've ever heard. I don't know if Ian has ever heard you or met you but he should! It's brilliant.
Thank you Lord Stewart ! Once again I write to you with such joy you bring to me ❤ Have you had contact with Ian or Martin ? I’m sure they are so honored by your flawless work! Do you play out currently ? Cheers from the US ! Land of the Free?
Wow, that was impressive. Your skills are definitely on another level. Really enjoy your insights at the end of performance. Perhaps you would consider always giving a quick run down of the chords names and/or shapes you use in future uploads.
Being an acoustic guitarist for more than 40 years, I feel I need to improve my guitar technique, after watching your delightful videos... You only need to improve a little bit your voice, being correct in intonation, I'd add a tiny effect, I mean chorus, reverb, or presence, like in studio recordings...but 'on the fly'.
I always loved this album and Passion Play, and Stewart plays it so well.

Una delle tracce più belle di T.A.B. Grande Stewart
Another level !
A difficult one for timing.
Such a fantastic take on original.
Many thanks for posting
Hello :) yes we enjoy !!!
Thanks Stewart. Perfect as usual. Jaw dropping. Was just thinking of you yesterday , how ironic. Yes the transition chords are wildly Tull.
Tricky one to do as solo guitar! Well done. From my favorite Jethro Tull album (which I first heard on a borrowed 8-track tape!😂).

Best of luck to you and your wife for the gig Christopher. Fantastic that you play music together.

Inspiring! Love it!
Would love to hear you play the other instruments in the background of the shot!
another absolutely wonderful cover 😊
That Epi sings in your hands, Sir.
Many thanks. Now a request for the TAAB penultimate edit in full "Tales of your Life..." Good Day to all.
You have an incredible ear and do the most beautiful renderings of Ian's work that I've ever heard. I don't know if Ian has ever heard you or met you but he should! It's brilliant.
Thank you so much Kathy
Genius! Both IA for the original composition (how the heck do you come up with progressions like that?) and you for a masterful performance. Bravo!
Once again👍👍👍
Lovely! I see some instruments there in the back; we need to hear 'em! :) Fat Man?
Thank you. Here’s my Fat Man by the way - ruclips.net/video/X-Mz5evLro8/видео.html
