The Witch didn't have to take the Wolf's singing voice at the end, taking away her ability to turn into princess anytime and erasing her memories of her wonderful time with the Prince was cruel enough, especially taking her memories away. It was a ineffective and counterintuitive payment in the end because the Prince visits her anyway and manages to spark some latent familiar emotions within her, I wouldn't even put it past him to unlock some memories from her amnesia. What would really be the point in taking her voice anyway. . . none.
If you think about it, this ending is much, much better than it seems. Instead of the Princess having to continue lying to the Prince, the Prince loves the Wolf for who she is.
Being with the prince without having to hide her true nature as a wolf? Great! Losing her human form (which was fucking adorable and allowed her to enter human towns without causing any kind of trouble or commotion)? Not good, but not _that_ great of a sacrifice. @theuncalledfor It feel like the witch is actually trying to pair them up so much. She takes away the wolf’s singing and her memories of having it but that likely will cause the wolf to find it more valuable as not only developing a good voice will become more important to her, she’ll connect its development towards the prince. Because she removes the Wolf’s memories of the Prince, the Prince will become more committed on the wolf’s relationship but she has to take away her human form so the wolf doesn’t remember anything about the Prince encounter or get insanely paranoid because she has that form for seemingly no reason. It’s like the witch is trying to establish another deal. Not to mention that it’s basically confirmed she has been watching over the pair because she somehow knew that they are responsible for the fire and it seems obvious that something is messing with the nature of the forest (like how the Prince somehow keeps surviving big falls that humans will definitely die from or the witch’a boss fight when she literally completely changes the area).

Something just occurred to me. The girl from the witch's story who dies and who's body is turned to crystal that then gets destroyed toward the end of this game, she originally went to the witch so that she could have the chance to apologize to her dead brother. This intrigued the witch enough to spare her. So later when the Blind Prince and the Liar Princess apologized to the witch, it immediately cooled her anger because it reminded her of the girl who died. The narrator points out how unusually quick the witch seems to calm down after they apologize.

@@_Venvel When is their age ever stated? Do you have any evidence to back up the claim that they're children? It certainly doesn't seem that way to me. Why is it good to be squeamish about the sexuality of children? If they really are both children, then there's no adult forcing them into uncomfortable and unwanted situations. They look to be of equal age in their human forms. Besides, they could just do sexual things when they're older, if they are really are too young for it.
No it’s how lycans are made which are humanoid wolves, werewolves are humans bitten by lycans or other werewolves and can transform into humanoid wolves. Sorry for this but I had to say it
Basically werewolves are just humans who have a curse to transform into a humanoid wolf, but still human (kinda, maybe in the inside). But Lycans, in the other hand, was born as a wolf with human feature (or human with wolf features). So I doubt your theory
A beautiful story, truly. The Princess performs the selfless sacrifice to make up for her mistakes, and the Prince shows just how much he cares about her. The wolf crying over the flowers, and two sitting together as she sings is the right way to end this game. Thank you Manly, I'm convinced that I need that physical edition.
I don't care about the princess not able to turn back into a human anymore. I just want her to have her memories back. But all and all, it was a great journey.

SPOILERS (Naturally) The game is much closer to a fairy tale than I thought, now that I think about it. ("Things aren't what you thought when you think about them.") The Witch plays a dual role of both the witch and the fairy godmother. The wolf was not only Ariel of the Little Mermaid as was brought up in the videos, but also Cinderella with her princess disguise that fails at night. The prince was, well, the prince, but blind. These stories don't have much go on with the prince. Also, his visit with his eyesight was, oddly enough, the first time he ever saw her.
The real villains of the story were the king and queen who after their exiled son returned with a fixed face they were like, "Oh good! Now you can be royalty again because you are no longer a disappointment to us!"
Well, I gotta say, the ending wasn't as dark as I thought it was going to be. I was expecting something cruel to happen, like the witch to take one of their lives to make up for her loss. Or that once she took the Princess's memories, she'd become totally feral again and kill the Prince. Fortunately, it seems to have worked out in the end. I enjoyed this game a lot. While I do think it kinda has some strange pacing issues (and the narrator's voice could get a little annoying at times), it was overall very enjoyable. And I'm glad my OTP came together despite where it could've gone. :)
I loved this game, the ONLY flaw I had with the game was it suffered from being overly beautiful. You can get caught on walls... which results in deaths. The mushrooms are a bit messy to use and their function is entirely based on checking who is above them and launching them up... which is kind of bad for an escort system. (Also they don't bounce you straight up either.) This is normal with these style of games though.
maybe she uses spells instead of magic, transformation spell, spike spell, teleportation spell, earthquake spell etc. None of the magics she's used makes me think they're too complex to not be a spell, so maybe she didn't have a spell that could affect fire, since she is a witch that lives in a forest (fire isn't that useful in forests)
@@SchrollShepard Spells are magic (under most circumstances), but spells are a system usually found in hard magic systems that need certain immutable incantations or rituals to perform, their result also can't be modified unless you use more spells alongside it Magic is from any, and is a resource, in many soft systems it can be manipulated at will and it's results range from the user being able to create as little or as much of anything he wants as long as he has the power to do so, but only certain elements and at a certain range, to being able to create something from any element just about anywhere, with the rules of how the element works to begin with being manipulated as well
this really got me crying at the club when the credits rolled, seeing the prince so determined to get the flowers really took a toll on me, and the way the wolf couldn't find out the reason as too why she was crying made me cry even harder.
She is inhuman no matter how you look at it. Witch has power that doesn't require(from how she planned to NOT TAKE HUMAN LIVES as a payment) anything(?). But she still takes important things as payment. If you look at it one way she is a loan shark, she gets what she wants, she destroyes if she doesn't.
Am I the only one who thinks the wolfs singing voice should've come back? Like Ariel's did when Ursula's shell broke. It was contained in one of those crystals, which got broken in the fire after all. Also, this game was cute and sad. I'm glad it got a bittersweet ending never the less.
Okay I do see your point. She lost a lot though. Her memories being the biggest thing. I honestly don't think she would've care about not being able to take on her human form. I still think her singing voice should've come back. However, that is just me.
@@Wolfbane382 The witch said she was still keeping the singing voice. Even if it broke and the wolf magically got it back... it was part of the final payment.
God damn it, this sappy shit always makes me cry a typhoon. This was a beautiful and wonderful game--I think the people who made it did a fantastic job.
_The power of flowers..._ ... and the power of saying you're sorry are the real magic in life. I'm glad it was a happy ending. She is just an honest wolf now, without vanity but with a bigger heart to be friends with a small, kind human. I liked the resolution of the plot quite a bit. The story was wonderful & the art really sweet along the ost. Buying a physical copy of the game sounds totally worth it - what a wonderful story to read to children about understanding, truth, & friendship. A very nice playthrough as always.

MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... NO
The whole game was just one giant d'aww from start to end... I wish I could afford the boxed set, I'll have to make do with the Steam version I guess. Gonna play it with the significant other and experience the feels first hand.
That was... very nice. The ending is just simply blissful, it's nice to see something like this from the games I commonly see, I really loved it, it was cute, it was just peaceful from the games I normally play. I think that the fairy tale style is what makes it so good, and the story as well, overall I think it's a beautiful game. I'm quite jealous that you have the physical copy of the game, I can't find one anywhere which sucks I want that artbook so bad.
SPOILERS (Naturally) I imagine the wolf will eventually be curious enough about the lost memories that the two of them will retrack their path through the forest. With the prince able to see (and apparently able to go through the whole route without the wolf while retrieving all the flowers they gathered the first time through), it won't be nearly as dangerous. Yes, I am making a headcanon. No, I can't stop it. I wonder if those goats made it out. I'm not worried about the moles, but the goats... And the witch changed her tune awfully fast. She seemed more like she felt responsible for them. I guess the story wasn't kidding when it said she "ruled" the forest. She's not a Witch's Heart witch, for sure.
I remember when I first heard the title/credits song, the game was just recently released in English. Around that time, I also heard that the ending involved the wolf forgetting the prince and immediately blinding him again, causing the story to cycle, and was dreading that scene while watching this episode. I'm so glad that that wasn't the case
When the princess felt emotion due to what the prince said I can confirm that is accurate. I had lost my memories at one point in my life but when I read something someone wrote to me that was obviously important I felt a whole bunch of emotions. The mind may forget but the heart will always remember.
Loved this play through, really such a cute and lovely game. God, and that story book is gorgeous. I'm not sure if you're looking for something else to play atm, but there's a demo out for a political sci-fi horror game that's a visual novel. It's called Cannibal Lottery, and you play a woman who's a politician in charge of making very important decisions on a colony on some distant planet. There are these aliens known as the providers who helped teraform the place so that in return, they could have a certain number of humans a month to eat. I would love if you played it
I had to hold myself back from watching your playthrough because I did my own. This is a very bittersweet ending and I love it. My only gripe with it is it could have been maybe 1-2 hours longer, but I can't complain because I'm a sucker for these stories.
Well done, Manly. Honestly, I wished for a fairytale ending where the witch gives the prince his eyes back and also does not take away the princess' ningen form .....but, this is fine.
As expected of another NIS game, a truly marvelous piece of art. This game's story might not be the most unique plot in the world but still it manages to engrave it in our hearts. Thank you for playing this game Manly as months ago I was really expecting you to play this game and now you've already finished it. Hoping you'd also play Eastward by Chucklefish and Pixpil Games as soon it's release. The story is interesting as I like post-apocalyptic worlds and manly-daughter relationship in a game.
That was really interesting! With the backstory we got for the witch, I was really expecting she'd do something like realize taking from others doesn't make her happy or give souls back. And it was interesting to see that while she is still evil and has no regrets, she did get kind of a character arc? Her being mixed with anger and softness when they apologized to her because going to those lengths to make peace was made her love that other girl from long time ago. Really interesting villain story
Such a cute story i love it. The prince is so pure while the wolf looks like a naughty and troublemaker in her princess form. I don't know why but i have a picture in mind that is like princess climbing over the window and the prince be like "what are you doing?!" And princess is like "i came to meet you but they won't let me in so i did this" prince "that is danger-" Princess "stop talking and help me already!"
I got feels by ending it is really sweet. I was roll eyes hard at his parents fix him when he got his vision back into "SWEET home" Ugh..try nice to cover this ugly.
Don’t know if you’re looking for anything to play, Manly. But I just finished The Hex, made by the same creators of Pony Island., a game you played a few years back, and I very much enjoyed it. I just finished watching all of your gameplays about the "Liar Princess and the Blind Prince". 😊 It's awesome, especially when you're getting worried about the Prince dying/falling/stabbed and those hidden SECRETS.. a really cute and lovely story with a dash of wolf action. 😏
I'm really MAD that in the start screen after Manly finished the game the prince isn't sitting THERE WITH THE PRINCESS. THE FRICK. IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT HARD TO CODE NOTICING WHEN THE GAME HAS FINISHED...right? this game's ending hits me in the feels like omori faaaaak
this was sooooo....ooo sweet... bless the prince and I hope things work out between those two haha... this game is so nice and the special little physical story book looks really pretty with its actual-fairy tale-like aesthetic. the graphics and art was one of my favourite things about this game and really fit it and the story. witch's monster form was great too👍 as a sidenote I really liked the little sidestory of the witch (which explained her unexplained-in-the-story motives for being the final boss), it was simple but worked well and loved that it was told through the flowers. thanks for the fun playthrough of "PRIIINCE"!
The game itself has a very simple plot to it, simple characters. The music is fantastic, and so is the artstyle along with the incredible aesthetic put into it. The puzzles are not that complicated as well. I can't find any flaws with the game. It's like as they say," *_The simpler it is, the better_* "
A great grand story-driven game that has a simple and heartfelt ending, I love this game and its soundtrack. PS: Don't look at the comment before watching the full video because of the spoilers
_Awoo~ And so the wolf and prince were able to stay together ♡. Awoo~_ Quite a lovely little story. Really pulls your heart strings. Hope those bowls of onions weren't around you while watching this. In the end the prince never got to see how our little princess looked like, but he got to see her for what she really was and decided to seek her out and lived happily ever after. I really adored this game. The art and directions it took, it actually may be my favorite one of these kind of games. The physical copy is so worth it. In the end it wasn't a tragedy as the prince was able to listen to his princess's song forever more. @@theuncalledfor The main characters in this game are children, so it's good to be squeamish in this case.
@@_Venvel
When is their age ever stated? Do you have any evidence to back up the claim that they're children? It certainly doesn't seem that way to me.
Why is it good to be squeamish about the sexuality of children? If they really are both children, then there's no adult forcing them into uncomfortable and unwanted situations. They look to be of equal age in their human forms.
Besides, they could just do sexual things when they're older, if they are really are too young for it.

In all honesty though good game and good story.
I CHOKED
IM SCREAMING
No it’s how lycans are made which are humanoid wolves, werewolves are humans bitten by lycans or other werewolves and can transform into humanoid wolves. Sorry for this but I had to say it
Basically werewolves are just humans who have a curse to transform into a humanoid wolf, but still human (kinda, maybe in the inside). But Lycans, in the other hand, was born as a wolf with human feature (or human with wolf features). So I doubt your theory
😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
True ending: Prince becomes a furry.
On a serious note, this is a beautiful and melancholy game.
...
I don't even care anymore, I just want them to be happy! ( ; _ ;)
0w0 who said furry?
I want to be that type of furry actually, the true love type
Ikr I'm a furry who very RARELY cries and damnn this game got me real good like I just cried multiple times in a row 😭

I don't know what makes me more sad, that ending or that we won't get more Manly yelling "prince!"
Same 😂
Although with the second part we could get lucky and he might play another game that features a prince who dies a lot.
or s e c r e t
SPOILERS (Naturally)
The game is much closer to a fairy tale than I thought, now that I think about it. ("Things aren't what you thought when you think about them.")
The Witch plays a dual role of both the witch and the fairy godmother.
Did anyone else cry or was it just me I love this game it is so pure and cute I truly give it a 10/10
I didn't cry, my eyes were just sweating a lot! ...yeah! That's it!
Beautiful game. I let my 5yo daughter watch the play through as you released it before bed. She wants the book now.
This was such a touching and beautiful game. I was so happy that the prince and wolf do end up having a happy ending. Really enjoyed it. CX
in the princess character info *"Don't make her a moe character"* i guess this is why... 🤔
despite being powerful witch, she doesn't have ability to deplete fire.
maybe she uses spells instead of magic, transformation spell, spike spell, teleportation spell, earthquake spell etc. None of the magics she's used makes me think they're too complex to not be a spell, so maybe she didn't have a spell that could affect fire, since she is a witch that lives in a forest (fire isn't that useful in forests)
water spell?
@@-hello6177 "maybe she uses spells instead of magic"
Wait, spells aren't magic?
@@SchrollShepard Spells are magic (under most circumstances), but spells are a system usually found in hard magic systems that need certain immutable incantations or rituals to perform, their result also can't be modified unless you use more spells alongside it
Magic is from any, and is a resource, in many soft systems it can be manipulated at will and it's results range from the user being able to create as little or as much of anything he wants as long as he has the power to do so, but only certain elements and at a certain range, to being able to create something from any element just about anywhere, with the rules of how the element works to begin with being manipulated as well
@@-hello6177 I was being sarcastic, but you sure fucking showed me. XD
Sorry for my ignorance, and thank you for clarifying.
Have a good one.
this really got me crying at the club when the credits rolled, seeing the prince so determined to get the flowers really took a toll on me, and the way the wolf couldn't find out the reason as too why she was crying made me cry even harder.
ironic how the witch is pretty much the most powerful monster... hell, her "human" form doesn't even look all that human...
The Witch kept it because she was mad about the forest
I'm more salty that the witch took the wolf's memories.
A big price need to be paid for a big loss. Thats how life works.
I began sobbing when the music kicks in and the Prince held the wolf's face softly like bro that's too sad for my soft heart.
I really liked this despite it's simple game play. It was really pretty and cute and I think I'll remember it for a long time.
God damn it, this sappy shit always makes me cry a typhoon.
This was a beautiful and wonderful game--I think the people who made it did a fantastic job.
_The power of flowers..._
... and the power of saying you're sorry are the real magic in life.
You will never find a chimera waifu in the forest close by where you live.

genetic engineering hopefully before the end of the century. We'll create our own monster girl wives chief, hang in there
31:09 I'm crying at the lyrics, "The memory of the flower bouquet, will deliver to you again and again, My very own song princess"

That was...

Also manly: wait, is there collectibles in this final boss stage?!

The tears ; o ;
They don't stop ToT
Great game though. The story was cute, yet emotionally touching and had a satisfying conclusion.
SPOILERS (Naturally)
I imagine the wolf will eventually be curious enough about the lost memories that the two of them will retrack their path through the forest.
31:15 have one goat, so I think they are okey
Did you forgot that witch have the power to summon portal?
Thus the memory from her(wolf/princess), since the witch collect it...
+Ka Bi
I don't understand how portals relate to memories.
This needs to be an anime
WHO AGREE?!?!?:DDDDD
I can definitely see this being a two-part OVA. :)
The witch has a very interesting desgin!
the ending made me cry like a baby, I love it.

Imagine if this game was made into an anime...that I'd definitely watch I mean I want to know what happens after, well, this who else agrees?

Would probably become a classic
Ninjas, stop chopping onions right next to me goddammit!
I burst into tears as he said "I came to see you again princess."
I've been sobbing for hours q-q

this was sooooo....ooo sweet... bless the prince and I hope things work out between those two haha... this game is so nice and the special little physical story book looks really pretty with its actual-fairy tale-like aesthetic. the graphics and art was one of my favourite things about this game and really fit it and the story. witch's monster form was great too👍 as a sidenote I really liked the little sidestory of the witch (which explained her unexplained-in-the-story motives for being the final boss), it was simple but worked well and loved that it was told through the flowers. thanks for the fun playthrough of "PRIIINCE"!
