They should really bring back the snail tank
I think they didn't make them playable for balancing reasons. Kind of makes me wonder what a geonosis map might look like. Unfortunately my guess is that it will involve far less vehicle combat from the original battlefront 2.

There's customization if im not mistaken to changr the look of your trooper perhaps phase 3 armor are in the game

Cross era gameplay is ridiculous. It should just be allowed in heroes vs villains matches.
I agree that cross era Gamplay is terrible,but then on big maps like kamino and kashyyyk you could only have one hero like maul or yoda and not have mutiple heros

The only problem is the shortage of heroes. I think they should have made more heroes from the start like captain Rex/commander Cody, Mace Windu, Ventress, Kad Bane etc. I now realise most of these are from the clone wars.

There is so much hate on this game... why would you, this game is amazing and is well built, yes i would rather have space to ground battles but that was the whole reason why star wars battlefront 3 didn't made it onto the market. And yes i would have definately liked more players in one map with bots e.t.c. (btw i do like cross era heroes, this makes the whole star wars franchise grow together). But this game isn't all about being perfect because it is perfect in its own way. The game is much better than other games we have seen so far. It has many maps, many vehicles, a wide viarity of characters and heroes, tons of objectives a story mode, many star cards. I have never seen a game which has such a good a fun viarity in everything. I really like space battles combined with a objective.
So please don't hate on this game you guys are expecting them to add almost everything star wars has to offer but that is nearly impossible since star wars is one of the biggest franchises ever.
For me this game is awsome and will definately become my favorite game.
There are plenty of reasonable flaws to point out. Its not hating when you do that.
Heroes need a lot of grinding to access.
LAATs are on rails.
The large maps feel pretty empty.
There really isn't an effective way to coordinate with your team because it's based around a buddy system.

"Many vehicles" Uh, what? The CIS and Republic have only tank like vehicle, which is going to look pretty stupid in scenes like Kayshyyk where there was stuff like snail tanks.
the reason i didnt like EAs first game was because it had less content than the 2003 game. the single player stuff was 5v5 and stupidly boring. the lack of classes was kinda made up for by choosing your weapon but the extras you get are poor, i didnt like them, and no ground or air vehicles. it lacked maps, you got about 20 in the OG battlefront and with this you got 6. I'll admit i havent looked at EA BF2 much, other than the lootbox chaos, and hadnt planned to because EA BF disappointed me far too much. Maybe when the game cost $25 i will buy it. I blame Destiny for that.
4 years later and they updated the game. If the current version of this game was the game that came out at launch then it would’ve been loved. But EA was greedy and focused on bullshit instead of releasing a great game. All that glitters isn’t gold and the fan base realized that

They have A.I. airships and yet they refuse to have A.I. ground forces to compensate for the 20 vs 20. And the Republic gunships are still on rails. Great game.

they are not two overlook able things because that is what made the original battlefront games fun. Fighting in the massive battles, and why vehicle on rails? what is the point of that besides restricting fun? This game looks beautiful and fun but is missing key elements.
Okay but we do not know the complexities of making a modern game. There probably were design choices between more freedom or an understandable objective. Now you can glorify the past if you wish but I Think this looks like fun

Something that really needs to be implemented in the current game is Galactic and Starfighter assault in Arcade mode for BF2. This was on of my favorite things back in BF1 and I am actually kinda of disappointed and angry that these game modes weren’t implemented in the game. Kashyyyk was my favorite map in battlefront 2, it was my favorite battle scene in episode 3 (even if we only saw pieces of it), and seeing this battle updated for this game, makes me so hype for this! I'm ready to play my copy already!!

Also the original battlefront was battlefield pretty much and people loved the shit out of it.
And adding more vehicle options to the game is not going to make it like battlefield that is a ridiculous notion.
It is not "HUGE" untill its 64.
It's felt huge to me at almost all times in both games. It's the _impression_ of a huge battle, not an actually huge battle.

These out-of-place heroes kind of detracts from the immersion for me. The first EA Battlefront placed emphasis on “recreating movie events in-game.” And that cinematic element is still present in Battlefront 2, but I can’t overlook the blatant incompatibility with the SW Canon. For instance, to have Rey on Naboo fighting alongside Clones just seems like a cluster fuck to me.
I don’t doubt that this will be a better Battlefront than the first EA Battlefront, but I just feel like they never do all that they could be doing. All of the elements of a great game are there, but it falls short due to poor executive decisions.

Not all heroes are completely developed, once all are released they will stay in their respective eras.
Brother Kong a lot of people complained about that, they wanted the freedom to create their own battle scenarios with any hero match up. I think it's cool, it's just multiplayer. Makes it more interesting too
I agree, about the heros- but I'm fine with phase 2 troopers on Naboo-if you read the blurb about the map its about the CIS trying to invade a second time (which could have happened but its not cannon )

They improved on things that they got wrong in the first game to the point I actually considered getting this game. But they, as always, had to screw it up in crucial places... LAAT on rails, slow and very easy to take down (6:17), inability to choose more than one tank type (only AAT and the railed MTT - rail understandable in this case, like the AT-AT), not improving the game modes, seeing that the "walker assault" was now transpassed to "tank assault", with no modes similar to conquest, that would at least make it fun to play with some friends and organize matches...
Those are huge problems in this game, in my opinion. The battlefield model would not have worked bad to star wars! In that game, the massive maps actually play a part in the gameplay, not being just eye candy and showcases. Your team can work together for a greater goal, you can just rack up kills or go lone wolf, but it IS a possibility to play as a team. In this game, that is nearly impossible. Vehicles are one person manned, the squad system is focused on individuals... Kinda sucks for the portion of the fan base that expected to be able to pull out LAAT landings on crucial positions, like in the first BFII or as ARC troopers in the cartoons, or assault with some friends a contested command post.
The game looks very fun, really does, but in a way that it has too many similarities to the common, kill-die-respawn model that is present in so many FPSs already that is spreading in the industry. I can see the replayability level of it tied directly to the expansions and DLCs, because playing that same model on the same map will surely get tyring pretty quickly.
It is the EA strategy after all.

Preach it. I was vastly underwhelmed when I saw that you just had escorting MTTs on Kashyyyk and the Seps don't even get to use the snail tanks, come on DICE. The game looks beautiful as fuck but frankly its just 'lacking' in the true detail that any casual Star Wars movie-goer would notice. Guess DICE just had constraints or were plain lazy idk.

Feels so bad to just see a beautifully made map (that still has some flaws, like random platforms on kashyyk that have no apparent access), that gives me no more reason to dwell into, unless for a couple of hours one day, only to become standard eye candy, to the point that I won't even care for the game no more.

I really wanted proper customisation, like being able to add visor, antennas, shoulder plates etc. But I haven't seen anything like that. They keep saying "we have loads of customisation" when all I think they're talking about is star cards... I wanna personalise my Clone Trooper, make him look experienced or like a bad ass. Maybe even add different legion markings to top it all off...
Honestly if we don't get any of that, I AT LEAST want to be able to choose a phase 1 helmet as customisation...

EVERY SINGLE MAP for Galactic Assult has completely different objectives and some maps such as Kamino for example don't have tanks assulting or any of that stuff at all. Each Galactic Assult map is a different objective and story to it which stops it from getting repetitive like Battlefront 2015s walker Assult

They don't let you pick the maps you want to join in either, they throw you into random maps, the number of muliplayer modes are very limited. And they are still capping the player count at twenty vs twenty , even after we repeatedly requested a higher player count. The battle of Kashyyk in this game, feels underwelming, Kashyyk is a large map , yet its mostly empty due to the low player count currently allowed. It most definitely doesnt feel like a real battle,like in Pandemics BF two, but a Skirmish of depeleted forces engaging eachother..This game also doesnt capture the feeling of an ongoing war in the distance or in low atmosphere like the older battlefronts
I just disagreed with you in the above post about clone voices lol but I'll agree with you here this battlefront's battles are very very underwhelming and I got bored after an hour of playing galactic I also hated the fact that you can't pick the maps that's something they should have fixed from the first one and let's not even get started on the campaign...

havent played 2 but i only played the first for about 4 hours. Yeah the graphics are good but the gameplay is boring. it might be fun but i probly will never know until it is $20, so never, but the game is still making the same mistakes over and over again

If you can even say that. Darth Maul died before the Clone Wars began so he doesnt even fit this map. Only fits the Naboo map if there werent clones there.
I actually meant Yoda, but Maul at least lived in that time (he was in Clone Wars TV series). And even if we count Chewbacca and Palpatine, its still only 4 characters out of 14. I have a feeling, that they made this cross-era bullshit only to hide the fact, that they barely made any heroes at all.

Way tooo small scale. Battlefield can do 32 v 32 and with star wars they only do 20 v 20. Plus they have bots in the air but they cant have them on the ground. It shold be at least 32 v 32 if not more. I think its time we increase that anyways and add bots of troops that look like the standard soldiers so it really feels like STAR WARS!

maybe 4, but EA wants to make battlefront into their own series not build off battlefield or the OG battlefront so your stuck with it

DeadlyDanDaMan he had 52 kills because he had 3 or more runs with a hero. 52 divided by 3 is around 16 kills a run (minus the few to get there and an op tank). Not hard when you have superior health, mobility, and damage output. So yes, the size of the map is big, but that makes it very empty. Battlefield 1 handled it better by having more players and no 'heros'. Granted battlefront needs heros, but they're waaaay to powerful

Huge map physically.. huge battle no lol. They need to up the player count from 20v20 or have a mode that allows AI’s to kinda inflate the feel. I feel like Star Wars battles always are massive compared to battlefront. Still can’t wait for this game though!

It seems that a great deal of these multiplayer battles are quite vicious.
I recently partook in the defense of Starkiller Base, and Resistance gave us hell. we got steamrolled on the first objectives, then held a valiant defense at the main gate (inspite of the strafing runs of the X-wings and A-wings). By the time the Resistance broke through and pushed into the detention hall, their reinforcements were nearly depleted, and thanks to their wounded heroes and a group of other troopers gathering in the hangar, I managed to clutch the win with the flame trooper.
All in all, it was a good game.
the attention to detail is amazing. the fact that they added the voice of tactical droids for the voiceovers really connects with the clone wars series.
The Prodigy im very glad theyre using lots of stuff from that series, hopefully itll get more people to watch it

+Isaak Technically the clone armor part isn't necessarily inaccurate - it's meant to be a sort of simulation, a hypothetical. Details to be changed. Just like how the MTTs are the wrong color(all Separatist vehicles are blue/grey) at this point.
Should have made the clones look like the Kashyyk troopers in episode 3.

Like the separatist shoukd have general grievous, count Dooku, Ventress, Jango and Darth maul as they fight the Republic Jedis, I want to play as obi wan, Qui Gawn, Mace Windo, Plo, Keon Mundi. There just so much potential I hope there's more hero's to play and not for dlc

I feel like no one knows anything... They are adding FREE DLC and already confirmed thst when there is enough hero's for each time period they are sticking to those hero's. People are constantly complaining but have no clue what they are talking about...

Things i don't like:
1. 20v20 is not nearly enough of mass to carry that map. Makes it feel empty and not starwarslike at all.
2. They need to add AI without it its never gonna work period.
3. The most boring vehicle choices. Where the fuck is the snail tank and spider walkers?
4. The most important thing about Kashyk and what made it so extra fun in BF2. At the start of the map the whole point is for the droid to spwan way back and start the fuckinh assault on kashykk!!!! So as an attacker you can actually attack as a force in the start and as a defender get a chance to defend!!! Driving over the water in mass with snailtanks and stuff ffs!!! Now its already done when you start the map?? Wtf you skipped the only part that makes this map lol.

It's just that the original Battlefront had many more troops on the field and bots seemed to help fill the gap. All these maps seem like your the clean up crew after the real battle.

To anyone looking to purchase this game from this clip alone: watch out. Not only is this a sponsored video but there are some serious balance issues that are yet to be addressed. For example, the transport tank is ridiculously underpowered due to the fact that it does about 30 damage per shot, everyone learns to avoid it early on, and almost every handheld gun in the game does more damage. The first half of the maps are extremely droid sided, while the second halves are extremely clone sided. Spacecraft are almost useless against actual ground players due to the fact that most maps seem to be small with high buildings or plants, so no one ever uses spaceships besides to die. Space battles are mostly bombers vs bombers because they do more damage and have more health than any other ship on top of the fact that there is no more hanger landings (at least on the beta map there wasn't) so bombers are the only actual useful ship. The first order looks cool, but the wookiee's are almost strictly better than the flame troopers, because the flame troopers do next to no damage. Essentially, beware buying this game and remember not to pre-order.
Not all of this true. I used starfighters quite successfully on Naboo against ground targets in the beta. The strategy was to fly into the sky, then turn and fly straight downward to get a better view. Flametroopers have been confirmed to be buffed. Haven't seen exclusively-bombers in any space-battle.
Also, not _every_ player is so concerned with that. I, for example, have never read a review - I always decided whether I liked a game or not purely by watching gameplay videos. And it's always worked.

There’s a new season coming out soon which is most likely gonna be focused on clone wars, I hope they add droidekas, anakin(although it might conflict with Vader), obi wan, coruscant and geonosis, plus hero buffs, a lot of hero buffs

Or better yet - you don't NEED reviewers. Just listen to people talk about it, watch videos of unspecific gameplay, and form your own opinions.

Anyway, wait until the game launches. You'll see plenty of unbiased, legitimate reviews. Or as I said, just watch gameplay videos of it yourself - YOU are the best at knowing what YOU'LL like. Personally, I found that my opinion is too easily swayed by reviewers; one reviewer managed to make me HATE a game that I used to love - not because of good points, but because he said things enough times that, whether I like it or not, I began to believe him.

It feels like Clone Wars Era really is only there as a token gesture because people (rightly) complained about the non-existence of it in the 2015 one. there is only one true Clone Wars era hero, and that's Maul. Wheres Jango Fett? General Grievous? Mace Windu? Asaj Ventress? Obi-Wan? Anakin? Delta Boss and the Boys?
I could not care less about Galactic Civil War era, so until more CW era content is released, I'll pass. Given that this is a huge AAA title pushed by EA you can guarantee just like the last one it's all style and presentation, no substance and depth. I will say though, the campaign being from Imperial point of view is cool, but they'll probably do some stupid stuff like have the main characters defect in the end and join the rebels, or something equally retarded.
