Texas Aoudad Hunt: 5 aoudad rams in about as many days.

- In November 2021 we traveled to our favorite West Texas ranch to hunt aoudad, or barbary sheep. With about a week to hunt and nearly as many guys hunting, we'd have to spread out to fill all of the tags. We took with us first-time Aoudad hunters, Lyle Hebel from Stone Glacier, DJ Hickman with PROOF Research, and our hunt giveaway winner, Bill Green.
West Texas is rough country. The Aoudad wouldn't have it any other way. It's loose scrabble rock, steep mountains, and cacti everywhere. The difficulty of the terrain, and the aoudad's natural toughness in calling it home is why we keep coming back, every chance we get.
they should arm the sheep
Totally
Then it’d be like fighting the taliban…
@@mattn5899 and we know how that turned out…
A comment made by someone that doesn't understand the work that goes into a hunt like this.
pew pew pew
You guys should do some cooking video’s of the game you bag , I enjoy all the hard work you guys put in
I doubt they did too much cooking on the audads. About like smoked boot leather.
So Glad to see you guys producing videos sharing your hunts again, we want more! 👍
Thanks for watching
Keep that intro music!! Original one that lets watchers know that ‘It’s go time’!!!!! Love it guys! Huge congrats to the teams! On my bucket list for a while!
Make it happen!
So much fun and some dandy rams, even the ones that are still running around down there! Congratulations to all!
Thank you John!
Az. boys sure know that type of terrain.
Great episode guys, keep those Canyon coolers
full of sheep and cold ones!😎
Great video guys!! Glad you went back to the old intro. When I hear that jingle, I know I'm about to watch a real video, with solid dudes, just getting it done. Keep putting videos out so I can take my mind off waiting for draw results to post.
It’s our favorite too
Glad to see you guys are back. And the intro song feels like 'home' again. 👍
Enjoyed the video as usual--I've been watching for awhile. I love hunting Aoudad too. I grew up out their and we use to hunt them and nobody anthem. Guess the word is out now.
Looked like some great country. It's been one of my dream hunts for a while. Good friends, plenty of animals. Awesome video guys. Keep the videos coming guys.
It’s a hard one to beat. And more affordable than any other sheep hunt. Do it
Great video! & Bill showed really good sportsmanship.
He was great
Awesome content boys, well done and thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks Ric!
Glad you guys are back at it! Some big rams! I'll have to link up with my guys there in west Texas now.
Message sent brother!!!
Nice work! Looks like a lot of fun!
That was really cool of Bill to give that tag up
Yes it was. Was going to say the same thing. Even cooler that it’s transferable.
Bill is a standup guy. And we tried as hard as we could to help him connect, this one was just too far from the road for him to get to.
@@TheMountainProject I get it completely, I have that same obstacle with my dad on our coues hunts. The good thing is there's no quit in them.
Hats off
Awesome content guys! Your channel is worth sharing. Thank you!
Thank you
If I ever see one of these guys here in tucson I’m going to start annoyingly singing that intro song to them at the top of my lungs.
I hope it happens!
@@TheMountainProject lol
@@TheMountainProject keep putting out great content
Awesome video! What style of bullet are you guys using for the aoudad? What were you guys using to get the long range video? 18x power binoculars or spotting scope for glassing?
Mostly spotting scope
Liking your channel - especially the Alaska and NWT Sheep stuff. Very nice work. Question - I want that soundtrack / intro music at rye start of your vids for my playlist. How can I get that ? Thanks - Doug G
Hell yea boys
Poor man sheep hunt…. 👊🏼👍🏼
Didn’t know you need a tag for Aoudad!
you need permission from the land owner. we call them tags because it's a term everyone understands.
Who was the outfitter?
Great hunting and shooting! What caliber and bullets were used?
1st ram was a 6.5 prc I believe
2nd I don’t know
Third 28 nosler
4 and 5 300 win mag
@@TheMountainProjectthanks! I believe it's important too put that information out there! Kinda like all the bowhunters like to tell you what bow and arrow was used!
Amazing video congrats! Amazing film thank you! Love this intro what’s the song?
It’s called Bad Men by Rivers Band. You can find it on Band Camp.
What is the name of your opening song? Awesome hunt
It’s called Bad Men by Rivers Band. Find it on Band Camp.
It's tough when you do all the work to get a hunter a trophy animal and when they turn up they struggle even with the basics. Id hate to be a hunting guide.
In Bill’s defense, he was shooting a rifle he wasn’t familiar with. The country probably surprised him a bit, but he gave it his all and we respect him for that. But yes, understand what you’re saying completely. It’s the hardest part.
What caliber rifle are y’all using?
6.5s and 28s
19:25 Ever heard of Kestrel?
Ever hear of SSRIs?
Who is the artist for the song?
It’s Bad Men by rivers band. Don’t believe it’s still together. But you can find the song on Band Camp
Hey guys hope all is good. I’m a subscriber and received a notification from your channel earlier today. The person replying tells me his name is Kevin. He tells me I have won an RX7. I’m trying to verify if it’s truly accurate because he’s asking for account information for shipping. Please advise, thank you.
Must be a scam
Thanks for your reply. Keep up the great work/hunts!
Sorry guys I received a notice that I am on a short list for a previous drawing?
Spam, sorry
@@TheMountainProject Thank you for your response. That's what I kind of figured.
10:24 Are the horns any good to eat? Why spend so much energy to bring them home?
Everything you have at home is something you can eat?
I sense a little frustration in the OP. I must have hit a few soft spots. @@TheMountainProject
20:17 7,000$ rifle followed by 1$ of common sense. Shame on you.
Your estimates are low, on both counts.
First snd foremost, what was that intro song/ entire playlist ?
Bad men - Rivers Band
