My favourite Elton song - but it never fails to bring a tear to my eye as it reminds me of my Dad who died in 1988. He was a huge Elton fan and I know he would have loved it.

I grew up with Elton, and loved his early stuff (first maybe 10 albums are fire!), but maybe this is what your parents felt, I had a hard time when he transitioned to "80's ballads" too. That said, this song was great, and I always loved it. It wasn't 70's Elton John, but it was a great song.

Speaking of repetitive lyrics in songs; a song I like a lot by "The Manic Street Preachers" what feels like 60% of the song goes "If you tolerate this, then your children will be next", but the melody makes me not care.
