This brings back very happy memories of my mom. She used to make felt ornaments, tree skirts, Christmas stockings and more. All of these are now in my possession but I don't use them too much any more. I have them nicely packed away hopefully for another generation to have. I love these Nichol.
So I;ve spent a couple of hours looking at your stitched tags and ornaments and I really love them. Now if you'll just come to my house and keep threading the beading needles I'm ready to go!!
Love these! Definitely going to try this! Funny that you said that you have a hard time sitting, I am the same way and I remember my mother always telling me that I can watch TV and at the same time, use my hands for either embroidery, knitting, crochet, etc. I guess this has always stuck with me! TFS!
Very cute, but why didn't you show the cutting portion? There are a lot of 'issues' cutting felt and I wish you could have walked us through some tricks/tips to make it work easier. Thank you.
I was wondering how you cut the felt. Did you use a metal shim? If you like to sew and don't want to use glue, you could sew the two sides together with a blanket stitch or blind stitch.
Hi Nichol! I have to let you know just how much I love and appreciate these little snowflakes that you made! I have got to make some of these next year! I used to love to embroider and do needle point. These are such cute little projects and I think they will be fun to do! Thank you so much for all the sweet little project ideas this year! I have so enjoyed watching your videos this year! You have such a wonderful personality and I love how you teach. ~ katz baugh
I have loved watching your felted tags and ornaments videos this evening. Christmas has passed, but I'm going to get a good start for next years gifts! Thank you as always for the inspiration.
She's using two strands of embroidery thread. You could also use metallic threads, but they are harder to work with because they split apart and break more. Regular thread would have to be doubled because it's thinner. Just don't use a thick thread like pearl cotton because it's too thick to go through the seed beads.
These are beautiful. I'd like to know how you cut these out. I still have just a Cuttlebug and it doesn't cut thin dies very well. I've read up on some of the electric die cutters but it's crazy to try and pick one because it seems like there are positive and negatives about all of them. What do you find is the best?
Bunny Hoyle when I was using the Cuttlebug with felt, the only thing that worked was using a cardstock shim when I was cutting. That worked really well, though!
