- With two anchor structures in place this thing is starting to take on a shape, and the most obvious missing piece is the northeast corner. Let's put another guard station up there, along with a fence, while we wait for more settlers to arrive.
Thanks for watching.

Sar! You are turning turrets into barbettes with all this enclosure!
googles "what is a barbette" and huh yeah, they kinda are... they're not fully covered like real ones, but they're pretty close. :)
Thanks, Sar! My pleasure! I'm happy that I can help you out! I got an idea for my version of the settlement just by watching you pan around the topography.
I love how the settlement is coming along. I would have never thought of that roof trick that you used and I love how that wall looks! Your builds always look so organic in the environment.
Thanks Groucho. That roof trick is all Kevin Alibert's idea, so credit to him for doin it in the first place. Good to hear this stuff is still givin you ideas. :)
Do you mind us adding you on X Box? I'm sure you've answered this, but I don't remember and don't want to presume. My handle there is the same as it is here.
Not presumptuous at all, and feel free; just realize that most of the time I'm on XB1 any more I'm "working" so it's unlikely I'll be very responsive. ;)
Looks awesome Sar! Love the whole guard station...Your trademark is running into trees...mine was falling off of tall crap! LOL
Thanks, and lol yeah, if I built tall I'd probably be falling off stuff all the time. :D
I just found your channel recently, and I have to say I was shocked when I saw the you only have 2.4k subs, you disserve so much more. The video quality and the quality of the builds is second to none. Great stuff. Keep it up!!
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the show. :)
Really cool, these are the best sort of builds.
Thanks! Glad you're enjoyin 'em. :)
So I found your channel today and I started watching this. Went over to your channel and found you finishing this up on stream! Perfect timing!!
Excellent! Hope you enjoy the show. :)
I know you don't like to do it, but I think that if you were to do a rug chain you would be able to get that corner fence rug glitched into that spot. The problem is you would still have the rugs, because I not not had much luck pulling multiple rugs out that are sunk too low. Just a thought. Looks great though, I like how it it coming together.
Gotta be honest, loco; it didn't even occur to me to chain 'em haha Probably would have, if I'd have thought of it. And thanks. :)
Agh! Now I want to be part of a wall of fame!
If you place the turrets higher, melee attackers cant get to them, maybe destroying them.
Lately I dont use guards anymore. You do all the trouble of making them a good spot, with a nice view and good cover, and then when a attack happens, everyone runs out to attack. Unfortunately, guards dont stay at the guardpost.
I rather use the settlers for food or scrap instead.
But keep up the nice builds man!
Thanks! And yeah, I hear ya; when it comes to stuff like this (aesthetics vs. game mechanics) I'll usually go for "what looks internally consistent" rather than "how it'll be actually used." Otherwise, there's no reason to not just stick a huge turret tower stack in the middle pointing in all directions, dropping some crops and sleeping bags under cover, and walkin away, y'know? ;)
I know what you mean. I spend alot of time building settlements. I like to build functional settlements, the the settlers provide me with stuff. Guards dont do anything. The little defence i get from them i can get with turrets several times over.
I use a mod calles Housekeeping. It gives you different kinds of scavenging stations. With that mod i place tables near places where i normaly would place a guard. Now, instead of standing there doing nothing, the "guard" produces scrap for me.
I dont know if that mod is on your platform though.
Awww... You didnt have to do that. But it warmed my heart. Thank you. Settlement lookin good. Turns out u can polish a poop! (I avoid this place on every playthru) Ps: gimme a week heads up if u can when ur ready 4 a code so ur service goes uninterrupted.
Thanks Ben! I shoulda put your name up there earlier, tbh. :P And will do, once I figure out how to tell when it expires (I'm really not good at this stuff haha). :D
Hay, so im having trouble grouping junk fences together. But I think I figured it out. I'm using a post from the barn that it really long. Should I just stick to the concrete pillar?
Use whichever one works for ya, Evodio. I use the pillar since I'm accustomed to it, but any sinkable piece will work fine. :)
Great vid sar keep em coming
Thanks and will do. :)
SarDeliac when is the next stream?
Streams are Tuesdays at 7pm US Central and Sundays at noon US Central. :)
Nice vid as always Sar, but correct me if I am wrong but you enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to place items, where as place everywhere mod its easy mode?
Thanks, and PA isn't really easy mode--it's just a different kind of challenge, and a tool that's really useful for certain types of builders. I'm just not that type of builder. :)
I can see that, well I'm the builder that uses the mod :p
Crazy old video I know but @3:00 if you want to get a thin floor there use the second story floor, attach another to the end of it. Remove the first, and work your way back with single floor pieces. Once one is in place remove all the other floors and drop it one notch and it should be in the perfect spot to snap another to it. Lot of steps but perfect every time for any ocd builders out there.
Not that anything is wrong with the pillar method if you don't mind it being a tiny bit off.
"The hard object, the firm object, has to be placed in here." I can't believe you missed such a perfect That's What She Said joke.
haha One of the dynamics in the streams is "twss" references... I guess I'm just used to teeing 'em up for viewers lol
That's exactly why I finish building before I put up a beacon
I don't use scrapping mods so you are obviously more familiar with them than I am and, most likely know what I'm about to say. I've seen other builders mention scrapping items with the mod turned on and then disabling the mod while they build their structures and re-enabling the mod after building. My understanding is it helps with the sinking iproblems. Of course like I mentioned you've probably already heard this and there probably is a good reason you are not doing that.
Enabling/disabling is a two-edged sword with any mod, Sheck, and with these I've noticed inconsistent results. Like, sometimes the scrapped stuff comes back when it's disabled and goes away when it's re-enabled, but occasionally the scrapped stuff doesn't come back when it's disabled and comes back when it's re-enabled and can't be re-scrapped. Or I'll get overlapping objects that aren't manipulable any more. Or it'll work just fine. I don't have a way to figure out which is which and (as you may have guessed) I prefer to err on the side of caution... plus, working around new limitations is interesting in its own right. :)
I figured you had a good reason and it appears I was correct.
15:20 I'm guessing you know a way now :)
wahoo seen my name lol. but my ps4 was recently stolen so if anyone's offered a batmam style ps4 in the west yorkshire area
