My Mercedes C300 has been awesome to me! This 2017 C300 Sport is very cool looking, the interior is awesome, and it is so nice to put miles on. The Cost Of Ownership is mild at 25 cents per mile. I don't consider that bad at all. I think if it were double, then I would have an issue with that!!! I hope you enjoy the breakdown of maintenance costs.

I am ONLY getting this car to keep my wife and mistress interested in me. I hate spending money on maintenance instead of customizations, but it's cheaper then getting a new wife and mistress 🤔
Home Tablet lmfao on god me too
Been looking one of these to be my first car and it’s good to know they are mostly reliable and not the most expensive to maintain. Thanks for your videos, they really helped me.
did u ever get one? because now I need a first car and I am looking to get one lol
@@jahnuganji8081 dont
same man i think this would be good car to own for first car
@@smilingdevilz1083 i got it as my first car a couple weeks back. get it bro
@@Donlucci yea i will but i gotta make some money i only made 14,000$ i could buy car with it rn but i am saving it up
I might get one used. They depreciate well enough that I can find a low mileage one for $25k, and they have all the little creature comforts that I could want for a few years.
agreed, I picked one up from a carmax 21k @ 29000 mi for a lease return. 10/10 worth it if you can get one sub 25k.
@@davtheman_ Only issue is the judgement from pretentious snobs saying "You can't afford it. Stay out of our club, poor man."
I got the same exact spec’d car from this video with 48k miles on it, got it for ~20k$. This is my second car and I absolutely love it. I’ve put almost 10k miles on it in 7 months and I’ve had no major issues. Not to mention the Mercedes dealership treats you like royalty! It’s such a luxurious car. Feels like it’s worth 50k still.
@@seanw4 That's a fact. The price changes, but the value doesn't
I've driven my w202 for about 35,000km since April 2017, and have spent around $450. That's all
Yeah it has been very low maintenance!
@@TheDurbinCompound Mind you KMs means a lot less haha and my car has only 150,000km overall. '99 model
Yeah I did skim over the Km ! That is a lot less!!
@@TheDurbinCompound 😂
8,000 in 18 months? That's a small amount. Your payment is 444 a month? If so, you must have put down a lot b/c that wouldn't bring you even close to MSRP. I'm sure you got it a few thousand off MSRP? But even then, you must have put down a chunk of change? Over 10k down.
it's worth it, look at that thing geezus
Get to the fucking point!!!!!
Great video thanks for making it. I’m not quite as nervous as I was about buying one of these cars. I’m from Vancouver Canada and thinking about buying the same car, but in a cabriolet black. What I would like to see you do is to make a couple of videos on essential maintenance schedules based on mileage age time. Also videos of you doing the maintenance yourself so other people have an idea how to do it and they’re not intimidated.
hey I am from Vancouver too how is maintenance on the c300, I am really concerned about repairs on it
Hey Durbin love the videos! I am actually considering buying a 2016 4Matic C300 myself. I just have a few questions for you if you don't mind.
1. Do you know if the AWD models have the rear camber issues or just the RWD versions?
2. Have you had to take your car in for any sensor issues? Being an owner of a 2000 c280, I'm aware that Benz doesn't necessarily have the most reliable sensors in cars.
Question 1. I have the 4matic. To my understanding, all Mercedes are cambered in slightly for high speeds. I just had my car into the dealer to check the alignment specifically. They claimed it was in spec, even though it wears 50% faster on the inside than the outside.
Question 2. I’ve had my car in three times in my ownership. Twice for the PCV valve and sensor. About 15,000miles apart. Been good for about 70,000miles now. Third time was last month. Had horrible smell of gas in the cabin at idle. I couldn’t find the leak. The dealer found the fittings on the fuel line at the test port and to the high pressure pump was “sweating”. Had them replace the fittings at my cost because fuel lines were not covered under warranty. That’s the first thing I’ve had to pay for outside of routine maintenance.
Hope this helps. I would not hesitate to buy another one of these cars. I will admit that while my car was in the dealer, they gave me a 2020 GLE350. OMG is it incredible and way better than the tech in my car!!
the front control arm BUSHINGS like to go out prematurely if you stress them slightly driving around town. Of course soft Discs and hard pads workout copious wheel dust until Akebono ceramic pads are installed to restore sanity.
A Benz staple failure are the two plastic idler pulleys and belt tensioner that gets pegged and help the long overstretched belt slip and overheat all accessories pulleys.
What is amazing is how everything is engineered to slowly degrade then fail on schedule. Including the Bosch cabin vent blower, every system is design with a failure point.
Keep a close eye on CAN Bus recurring errors. The Main modules (engine, tranny, brakes, SRS...) are rock solids, others not so much (Doors control, SAMS, Camera...).
Since new I had a Benz bug were the front doors were crashing the KeylessGo control that is hosted in the rear SAM... Local Dealer played all his clown games until I printed the AllData TSB pointing to the fix: a simple software update of said modules.
Ride suspensions have been great so far.
👍
Damn. I drove 11k in first year. Do you uber in that or deliver packages for a living.
My first few years of owning the car, I was commuting almost 75 miles one way to work. Headquarters was another 60 miles away. It was a triangle of miles upon miles
TheDurbinCompound I hope you’re planning on keeping it until the wheels fall off... that many miles you’re literally destroying its value.
You buy a car to use it 🤗
@@TheDurbinCompound Yess!!! Who cares about "resale value" use the damn thing haha. Obviously, take care of it, and don't destroy it but who cares about miles?? ugh... It's like a dude not fucking his girlfriend right, keeping those holes tight for the next guy hahahha
@@dharokthewretched7373 yoooo but he right tho but fuck it right lolll
That's very nice Benz!
Do video on the Maintenance I got the same car
I have a couple of videos already on the maintenance. Search W205 on my channel!
69k miles in 18 months?? Maybe im not understanding this correctly, if not, im a dumbass and I gladly accept the criticism...however, if i am correct, wtf are you driving to? Hahahhaaa!!
😂😂 I’ve received countless “WTF” comments. I commuted with this car at least an hour one way every day. I lived in the middle of a giant 200 mile triangle of our office spaces. So over an hour to any one office and then if I went to another office it was even further. Putting 250 miles on this car in a day was not uncommon.
It's a dang nice car !! Let's race 😂
I’ll pull the powerstroke out and warm up the turbo if you really wanna race!
TheDurbinCompound haha I'm not scared 😂 name a time and place 👊 I don't know which would come on top but it'd be fun 👍
You Wish no this car is fast trust me I own a c300 and I’ve noticed I’ve beaten basically 90 percent of the cars on the road and because it’s a light car because of the inline 4 it does well for itself honestly. Not car you should mess with on the roads. It has both sport and luxury.
How many cadavers can fit in the trunk?
Probably just 2. It’s a small trunk
@@TheDurbinCompound Mmmm...Well, I guess making two trips will have to be done.
Hey man I found a c300 4 matic 2015 with 55k miles for 17,000. Do you think it’s worth it?
A lot of other factors go into the worth it question. In my opinion ask and test drive for funky sounds and signals if not I think thats about the valuation for a 2015
zaidjirjees I’d give it a hard pass I wouldn’t buy a Benz with that amount of miles that’s probably out of Warranty
Thanks for sharing.
125 to 150 for an oil change? I was quoted 280 to 300. Service A that is. I'm in Texas.
Wow! Thanks for the price check!
$300 Sce A sounds right.
What usually hursts more are all the unscheduled repair surprises
🤣
Is it worth getting it? I live in the hood and im a brown guy who drive like a taxi driver (stereotypical)
I’d like to see more content on the merc. I have almost the exact same one.. minus the illuminated star.

I’ve had my 2018 C300 with the AMG package for a little bit over 2 years now ... but I only have 19K miles on it ... it’s pretty much my daily driver ... Crazy thing I had to replace all 4 run flats tires already costing me $1500 ... I’ve done 2 yearly services costing $580 first time second times $850 ... Here in California gas is expensive only 91 premium gas 🤦🏻♂️
Mercedes, along with most German cars made here in the US for the US market aren't something considered as a daily driver. Unless the mileage is highway miles which puts less wear on the engine (doesn't matter which car you drive its the same). Needless to say, AMGs are really cool cars. They're not made to be a daily driver unless you want to buy a new car every couple years or so (which is what German Luxury car makers want their customers to do). Parts are always a fortune to get, even if you do maintain it yourself compared to a Ford SUV, Toyota, or Honda.
Needles to say I think they're cool looking cars and are fun to drive
ItsMyDank747 It’s actually a three-year lease ... so pretty much I have one more year to go
@@jorgecolucci5198 Nice, are you going to extend the lease or get a new one? If you dont mind me asking
ItsMyDank747 ... Neither ... I will only return the car ... Don’t get me wrong Mercedes Benz are so beautiful but the price kind of sucks I might just end up buying a new car elsewhere
Lovely car and home!
Hello! I am looking to buy a 2015 Mercedes c300 4MATIC for 16k with 35,000 miles! Should I go for it?
im looking at the same thing 2015 c300 with 42,000 miles ....also looking into cost of owning it lol

EXACTLY SAME! Been looking at the 2015 c300 or c250 as I prefer the coupe look. This video helped me come to my final decision in buying a Benz! Are there any major differences between the two?
16k is dirt cheap
Yeah what 16k are you kidding me that’s a massive deal I would buy that in a heart beat.
Do you still own this vehicle? I would love an update on the ownership

@@ZZEUS I am at 130,000miles. I am currently experiencing what I think is an alternator issue where it is over charging or “full fielding”. So I have a new alternator to install. It will be a video when I know the issue is resolved. Only happening in the cold. It hasn’t made the vehicle undriveable and has been happening intermittently. You will find in my videos, I did replace the front brakes for sake of video content. Coolant flush will be coming soon. Plan to do that around 150k miles.
Can you make a video on how to do the transmission fluid flush and the spark plugs.
These videos will be coming soon!
Informative video on your C-Class 300 4-matic Sport. It seems you do a lot of maintenance work on your own, which saved you a few dollars. I am not experienced when it comes to working on cars, but I can do some basic things too. I live in California in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our fuel cost more, but that is true in all high population, urban areas. Many thanks.
Whn ever you Have a high end Car.ALWAYS take it to DEALER. Never those road side garage. At the end of year u save ALOT.
Why doesn't mine have those headlights? Mine came with halogen headlights... it's a 2016...
Most of people watch review for this stuff...freat video! People want to see the costs...
Does MB have a lot of plastic engine parts like BMWs? Essential parts I mean.
What about depreciation?
😂😂😂 go ahead and add $50,000 to cost then!! 😂😂😂
John Ever seen a lead balloon 🎈
That sounds a lot compared to a Toyota or Honda XD
I'd lease the car, not buy one. The C300s look really cool and are fun to drive. In all honesty if I wanted to buy a car I'd get a Genesis or a Lexus. Nice video though. If you can can you do one for a Genesis and/or Lexus? That would be awesome!!!
What about registration tax and insurance
Thanks for the info!
Hi how much was your monthly payment?
can you link the adapter for the transmission oil change? Also did you only flush the oil that was in the pan or did you also flush out the oil in the oil cooler as well?
Just flushed the oil in the pan. That’s all they do at the dealer. I was told it is less than 1 quart in the cooler. For Mercedes-Benz Auto Transmission Fluid Filling Drive Line Adaptor ATF www.amazon.com/dp/B074XN8PTL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-ci.BbBMCK30P
Thank you so much, your video was awesome!
Thanks. Hope to see you around the channel
You should never flush. Drain it and put new oil
What are you basing this info on?
Did you notice a driving difference when you did the transmission flush?
how did you manage to drive 100-150 miles per day?
not live in NYC or the Northeast
Nice one👍!So is it sport suspension? Mine is similar, with run-flat tires, it is sooooo stiff...I dont want to replace the entire suspension, but I heard replace all the run-flat tires to regular would make it a lot more comfortable? Any suggestion? Thanks
Regular tire will makes big difference, you don’t need new suspension
How reliable is this car? I am thinking of getting a pre-owned 2016 one.

great vid...how much is your insuarance?
stupid question
@@azk8584 right. so how much is the insuarance?
@@azk8584 ... It's not a stupid question.
Obviously insurance on a car like this is as much a part of ownership as any other aspect.
I own a 2016 and my insurance is 1000 every six months. I’m 28, never been in an accident that was my fault and have AAA and multi car discounts with Esurance.
oil change is every 10,000 miles in a Mercedes? That's pretty interesting. I thought it was 5000 like most cars.
Nope. 10k. Mercedes “Mann” fleece canister filter. Mobil 1 “M” spec oil.
I've been finding newer cars saying 10k now with full syn
its all about the oil you use and how long you want your car to last. DIY Maintenance is a whole lot cheaper than repairs...
👍
I am thinking about buying a 2013 Benz c300 for 16k (62k mileage). Do you think it is a good idea? Or will I have to pump my money for heavy maintenance stuff?
Usually W204’s (the chassis designation for a 2013 C300) are pretty dependable and can be picked up cheap. They should burn you up too bad. As long as you can do basic maintenance yourself!
Im trying to buy a 2015 with 80k I’m worry about the turbo
Just run mobile1 0w 30 and the turbo will last forever. The problem is ,people make the mistake of putting thick oil in the car and it gunks up the turbo because they dont change the oil.
Okay.
I think you should remove gas price as you already said 69K miles, then would you mind to list in detailed cost and periodic maintenance cost. can owner keep it for 150-200K miles? if yes what kind of major maintenance needed and cost? many thanks.
Joe Cox 102000 miles on mine, over 5 years. Only issues were: tyres, brakes & one fuel sensor replacement. Coming from BMW ownership, this has been surprisingly reliable...
Awesome! Just about the same maintenance I’ve had!
Hello, I want to buy my wife a used 2016 Benz c300 has 26000miles on it. I’m a little worried about reliability since it already has 26k miles. As well as the maintenance cost, what is your opinion, should I lease her a toyata Camry and buy a used c300. Thank you
xiangwen zheng funny enough I just sold my 2018 Toyota Camry SE and I’m going to look at a 2016 c300 with 24k miles on it tomorrow. It’s going for 26,400$ I wanted to know if that was a little high for what it was or if it was worth purchasing
@@noahw947 Need more information on the car. What packages does it have? Check the tire's trend and remaining life. Which service (A or B) was the most recent and by how far ? Is the 26,400 after taxes and fees or is this a private sale at 26,400? The history of the car: Accidents, title status, any significant damages that is not the normal wear. Test drive the car and feel the alignment. Push the car at high speeds to make sure there's no funny noise or violent jerk of the engine. I'm sure there's other things you normally check in a car, at for 26,400, it better come with the packages like the sport package and maybe the lighting package. Backup camera was also an option in these cars so much sure it has one. Does it have a sunroof? Navigation? Premium surround system (forgot the name of the package)? If most of these are yes, than 26,400 is a good price with a 3/4 year old car at 26k miles.
Very reliable car I’m telling you like this thing has the looks and has enough power for you to enjoy. Very very reliable would recommend this car. Just make sure to do the services yourself to save more money. Read owners manual*
These cars are a pain in the arse.
What are you gunnagadoodle next? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What ever do you mean?!?! 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 now I see! Haha can’t believe I never caught that!
How about the reliability? I’m trying to convince my parents to get me one for my first car
No reliability issues, it’s been a pretty darn good car. I’m at 112,000 miles now. I will warn you that it’s not cheap to keep up with regular maintenance. Your first car, you’re going to drive ALOT. You will rack up miles! That means oil changes and tires more often! They aren’t cheap!
TheDurbinCompound thanks I’ve been working hard in school and trying to become therapist
My parents said they will buy me one if I get good grades in high school
$3 dollars for gas?? woshhhhh
Hey man asking for your opinion on this, I’m currently in the market for a Mercedes c-class 300 I found a 2017 year model for $23,000 is it worth it considering the maintenance on the car? I had no idea an oil change was that expensive. Do they come out defective? How often have you had to change out parts on your vehicle
Benz are nice to drive but high maintenance cars. So try NOT to get a turbo and prefer a V6 for highway driving over a 4Cyl-Turbo for city driving.
A & B service are not exactly cheap but repairs are simply priceless... until you decide to through in the towel.
Best advice is usually to LEASE unless you DIY because great OE parts are on the cheap!

this's not amg line rite?
