I started Run N Guns to test my gear for shtf. I'm not interested in deviating and changing my gear to fit Run N Gun events or competition. My setup is very similar to Mikes. CMT billet ambi upper/lower, FCD BCG, all FCD small parts (safety, castle nut, etc.), B5 SOPMOD, Vltor A5, H2, Sprinco green Spring, Triarc Track 2.0 14.5 PW nitride, Surefire MD,, Vltor CH, Zev Wedgelock, midlength, SSA-E Acog w/RMR.
I think that's a very very common idea in RnG and it does a great job at testing gear. Mike and Ryan's guns would both probably fill the main fighting rifle niche in different ways. That sounds like a very solid build. I'm sure it serves you well.
@@ActionShootingShow My 16" is basically the exact same setup but I'm running the Credo 2-10x36 w/RMR on top in a Badger C1 mount. You really don't need parallax adj on a fighting gun, you don't have the time. I was interested in the Leupold 5 but noticed the same with the reticles and the parallax wouldn't be used in my case. I have about 3 years behind my 14.5 and it performs very well.
@Blain5700 while I'm still experimenting I think you maybe right about not needing parallax adjustment. While it can be nice to have, it's definitely not a deal breaker. I hope in the future I can pick up a Credo 2-10 and get some time behind it.
@@ActionShootingShow I can see places you might be able to use it, like a stage where you had a single target out at 700 yards, for example. But a stage with multiple targets at varying long ranges like we have here in TX, there's no time to adjust, or you forget. I think it's more important to have your scope setup in a way to ensure your head and eye placement are in the proper location and you have consistent form. That will be much faster and more accurate than dialing a knob under time.
@Blain5700 agreed. Generally I set it at 100 if I'm pretty sure it's all close range targets, and if it could have extreme distance and I don't need to adjust I'll just set it to infinity. It's easy to set and forget. And even with parallax a consistent head and eye placement is always a good thing.
Sounds like a great build. I bet that velos with the tuned down gas tube makes for a soft shooting good. There are a lot of good LPVOs these days, I haven't tried the Arken stuff yet but I hear good things.
Thanks for the shout out Ryan. I have them on all my AR as well!!! ;)
Any time. It's light and adds a lot of function, whats not to like?
