- Chattanooga, Tennessee is the birth place of the tow truck. That tradition continues today as the world's largest wrecker manufacturer, Miller Industries, employs over 500 people who create the wreckers you love from start to finish. Watch and see the process, as American Towman TV is granted an exclusive "inside look" at the company's manufacturing plant in Chattanooga. This video is sponsored Tracker Management, provider of software, computer and wireless communication systems technology designed specifically for the towing and recovery industry.
this is where it all began since 1917 Holmes Recovery Equipment and Miller Industries has been building the wreckers they come in all different shapes and sizes. there is The Snatcher also called the Repo Truck if you don't pay your bills or you get a ticket this truck will send your car to jail (the impound yard), then there is The Flatbed these trucks have a deck that goes under the car to be towed, then we have the Wheel Lift, the Hook Truck, and the king of tow trucks The Rotator also called a Boom Truck which has a telescoping boom that swivels to pick up a truck if it goes in the ditch.
hmmm; tour takes 3:55, and the first 30sec is advertising. VERY brief doco.
