    I worked here as a Keeper for a couple years when it first opened. It was open for longer than 2 years, but they changed hands a couple of years after I left. I could tell you exactly what animals was where! I'm so heartbroken to see that it's all been abandoned and left in the state it is. What a huge shame :( 💔

      Yes, it's a massive shame, and yeah, I know it was Bugtopia before. However, the reference I was making was that Rutland zoo only lasted a few years. Thanks for sharing with us

    I worked at Bugtopia for around 6 years before it changed hands and I was let go. It is genuinely heartbreaking to see the place I loved educating people and getting them inspired about all the animals there in such disrepair.
    Unfortunately, it was due to the lockdown and the soaring electricity prices that killed it in the end, I’m just shocked to see the people I’d hoped would breathe life into the place would leave it in such a state :(

    • @BeardedReality
      @BeardedReality  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah only the bigger zoos managed to survive lockdown and even some of them didn't make it crazy how places end up - thank you for sharing with us

    18:49 I have a photo here with a Blue Parrot on my shoulder, that is why it is so open and no cages :) then I think it was fish running under or around the bridge if I am not mistaken :)
