Saw them on this tour in Charlotte , NC… FREAKING AWESOME !!! And you’re right , the set list was quite enjoyable. Very anxious to see the set list for the next tour… I really hope they play stuff that hasn’t been played in many years… My two requests are “Infinite Dreams” and “Still Life”
Actually I saw the The Somewhere in Time tour in Toronto Canada at Mapleleaf Gardens. My first and only time I saw Iron Maiden. I saw the Somewhere in Time Eddie and a flying saucer hovering over the crowd. Great times and memories. My first concert I ever went to. Cheers, Mike L 😎🇨🇦✌🏻🤘🏻
First Maiden show for me too in ATL at the famous Fox Theater. Didn’t get into them til 1985 so SIT was first release as a fan. Love that record so much. Saw 7th son tour too. Up the irons!
I saw them in Brooklyn. First maiden show and wow i was blown away. I swear all the guys deaged the moment the stepped on stage. Watching Dave Murray jump off speakers doing karate kicks and spinning his guitar above his head and Steve running around doing his machine gun base move to the crowd felt like I time traveled. Bruce sounded great and better than videos I had seen. The best part was the crowd tho. Two pits on the floor the whole night and constant jumping hands in the air and following Bruce’s cues. They also ate up the new material which I was not expecting with an American crowd. This also gave me a new appreciation for the senjetsu material which was amazing live. Overall the setlist was great and a treat for maiden fans. Can’t wait to see them again night 1 in budepest at the start of their next tour.
Saw them in Fort Worth last night. The band was fantastic. Maiden did say they will return to Texas in 2 years. The HU were interesting and much better than we expected. It was interesting the HU played before a pretty full house. Maiden sounded great. Dickinson really put in on a show. Most importantly, the audio quality was excellent. Much better than the Dallas show a few years back. Dickies is a very high quality venue. A very fun night…
Was at the Brooklyn show and thought Alexander the Great, Death of the Celts and Hell on Earth were the highlights of the night. Thanks for posting Pete!
Got to see Maiden three times on this tour, once in Vancouver last year, and Toronto and Quebec City this year. Each show was absolutely amazing and I'm so happy I finally got to see some rarities from Somewhere in Time as it's one of my favourite Maiden albums. I'm also looking forward to the 50th anniversary tour coming our way next year. The band said they're supposed to play some stuff they've never played live before... hopefully they live up to this promise.
Saw them at the St. Paul, MN show and it was fantastic show. It was also the first show after Paul passed and they did a tribute to him but it was before The Time Machine. So weird they didn't do it before Iron Maiden. Great review!
I saw Iron Maiden in Las Vegas this past October and they were great! I loved the setlist! Hey, I got to hear "The Prisoner" and "Alexander the Great," so I was very happy! 🤘
Saw em in Fort Worth last night. Outstanding. Bruce sounded better to me last night than in 2017 and 2019. Got the vids to prove it on my channel. And The Hu blew me away.
Glad you enjoyed it, Pete. The set was fantastic. For the first time with any band I saw them twice on the same tour. Saw them in Vegas with my cousin on that Saturday and then took my mom (to her first metal show 😂) to see them in my hometown Phoenix that next Wednesday. It was so fun that now I feel I need to do that every time they tour. They are my musical heroes and they won’t be here forever, I’m trying to really enjoy every moment I can seeing them. Here’s to hoping they bust out To Tame a Land for the next tour.
I saw the San Diego, LA, Toronto, Quebec & Montreal and I too was surprised no mention of Paul Dianno. Back when Ronnie James Dio died Bruce brought him up during the shows. Maiden has already announced their 50th Anniversary tour starting next summer in Europe.
I was two day ago in Fort Worth ,was amzing concert Bruce and all band make great performance. This is my third Maiden concert and planing to go in Dallas after two years (Bruce promise)
Hello Pete , quick message regarding your review , first saw Maiden on the Metal For Muthas triple bill in either 79/80 at Newcastle Upon Tyne Mayfair ballroom U.K . Then every tour after up until Blaze Bailey , and to be honest thought I was done with them . But have seen a few shows on RUclips and been impressed , so with your recommendation I may have to buy a ticket for next years U.K tour . Thanks .
Saw them last week in Charlotte. I think your review is spot on and I want to highlight that Bruce sounded great, better than the last couple of tours! Loved a different setlist, but probably would have picked some other songs than Fear of the Dark or Iron Maiden. But all in all, it was a damn fine concert!
Saw them here in Melbourne not too long ago. The show was great, the set list didn't impress me, but I am used to that with Maiden. Still can't stand watching twinkle toes.
8 says remaining for me Pete 2 days....50000 people each night 🇨🇱 Really missing THE 2 tracks from Somewhere in time: The loneliness of the long distance runner and Deja vu
I agree about the setlist. I can live without hearing Run to the Hills in person for the 8th time VS the Somewhere in Time material, which we'll very likely never get again with only a handful of tours remaining. As for the Dianno thing. Knowing how much Maidens stage productions are carefully programmed/choreographed, I'm just assuming it would have taken some time to rework the video feeds onstage to include Paul.... And with just a couple dozen stops left on the tour, they just weren't going to risk any technical issues by trying to alter anything at that point. However, it wouldn't have killed them to at least mention his passing and give him a verbal memorial at some point during the shows, like in St. Paul. I was at the Pittsburgh show the night before Newark, and no mention was ever made that Paul Dianno ever existed.... Which surprised and disappointed me a bit.
Saw the Philly show and this tracks my impressions (although there was a bigger crowd for The HU). Have seen them many times since 84 so I do not need to hear the "hits" any more. I prefer the deep tracks and new material. Somewhere In Time is a favorite album so this tour did not disappoint. Band and Bruce sounded great!
They will go out and do the 50 years so would love to hear drifter, remember tomorrow and Phantom. We need tracks that have not been played for a long long time.
Bummed they skipped Michigan for this tour. It's been my dream to hear "Alexander the Great" since '86. I looked at going out of state as I did for a number of other show this year, but it was too cost prohibitive everywhere I looked. Hope they do it on the next leg they come through.
Problem with having an image of Paul up on IRON MAIDEN is that's the big Eddie takes over the stage song. I get the sentiment but I don't think having a giant image of him would make a ton of sense with all of that crazy shit going on on stage.
The Hu freakin' rocks. And they recently did a cover of "The Trooper," hence why they're opening. And their youtube videos have more views than lots of the Maiden stuff. You need to broaden your rock horizon beyond Scandinavia, Pete.
Saw Maiden at Power Trip and was thinking the same thing: do I need to see them anymore? Bruce had attitude, backing vocals were off, stage set was average and the setlist was just ok. Love Maiden but they seem more like a merch band/brand now. Yes Bruce's vocals are still great but his outfits look strange and the stubbornness to the setlists and overall format (Harris, Smallwood) are getting old. R.I.P. Paul Di'Anno
Second time seeing them and once again my review is they cant play the old songs correctly but the new songs are even better live. I will say they could do heaven can wait ok but the rest of the 80s stuff just no
I rather hear the big hits at a live show, not the deep cuts! Just my opinion, and I think the majority of the public. These are all good songs, but on the record. They didn't excite me live. Their previous tour in 2022 was AWESOME. I was quite disappointed with this tour because of the poor setlist.
Sorry, I don’t agree. Seeing a band play the same hits tour after tour, decade after decade is beyond boring. For that I can just stay home and listen to live after death.
Yep bands change and progress but there was a hype about them then via the Soundhouse Tapes and on that night, they didnt live up to it if memory serves...@@seaoftranquilityprog
@@jimmycampbell78I saw Nico Mac in Trust and JG in White Spirit at the same venue. Later in life I had a partner who had grown up and gone to school with him in the North East of the UK and had embarrassing school photos, as in 7-11 year olds level (Primary here), of him!
I can think of a few bands that are indeed overrated. However, "Iron Maiden" is NOT one of them. They are loved for good reason. The first five records alone are among the best that the music genres of hard rock/ heavy metal ever produced.
@@jasongaylor2232 Yes, the first 5 albums, all everybody has done is moan about them since. I just don't like them. Bruce isn't a great singer. They seem more popular in the States these days than here in the UK. It's unfair of Pete to say I don't like metal any more, I do, but certain bands I've got tired of, and Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter is one of the worst Number Ones in British chart history. Every 'metal' cliche is chucked into that song. When I last saw them headline Monsters of Rock (admittedly over 30 years ago), half the audience left early to get their coaches home. I think America and South America prefer cliche metal, give me The Prodigy any day of the week.
They will go out and do the 50 years so would love to hear drifter, remember tomorrow and Phantom. We need tracks that have not been played for a long long time.
It was a great show and hanging out with you Rich and all my friends...SOLD OUT show too!
One of my favorite bands ever!!!! I love every album (to varying degrees, of course.) Up The Irons!!!👍❤️
Saw them recently in Pittsburgh. Tremendously fun show. The sound overall was excellent, and I was really impressed with Bruce’s voice.
Amazing set and the band was absolutely on fire!
Saw them on this tour in Charlotte , NC… FREAKING AWESOME !!! And you’re right , the set list was quite enjoyable. Very anxious to see the set list for the next tour… I really hope they play stuff that hasn’t been played in many years… My two requests are “Infinite Dreams” and “Still Life”
Somewhere In Time is my favorite Maiden record so this tour was a special treat for me.
Thanks for the review. Pete. So cool 🆒 👍💯

🌠ALRIGHT PETE !!! I WENT TO THE WORCESTER SHOW ..KILLER ! REALLY GOOD !!

I was there! That was my first time seeing them. 🤘🏼

i'm uploading videos of my Maiden concert from last night, listening to "The Mandrake Project," and watching pete's review. I hit the trifecta.
Was at the Brooklyn show and thought Alexander the Great, Death of the Celts and Hell on Earth were the highlights of the night. Thanks for posting Pete!
I traveled from Cincinnati to see the Pittsburgh show with four friends. I agree that "Death of the Celts" was a highlight.

Yeah, they've already announced the 50th anniversary tour focusing on 1980-1989. No North American dates next year, though. So 2026 at the soonest.
Next tour there’s run for you life tour! Playing from the first album to gear of the dark! 50th aniversário! I have my tickets already 🤘
They said they're be back in two years for all 80 maiden I think that's what I heard 80s music
They are on tour next year here in the UK with all the albums no later than the 90's. I am sure they will do USA as well.

Winding down on touring? No way. They will milk the cow until it dries up, and I’m totally fine with that. 🆙 the Irons.
50th anniversary tour next year celebrating the first 9 albums across Europe and the UK. ...So, no slowing down.
I think their homage to Paul is Bruce wearing the leather jacket. I’m unsure if he wore that prior to Paul’s death.
Maiden rules

Well, that was 40 plus years ago, thousands of gigs a d a completely different lineup...
you would only have seen Steve Harris & Dave Murray from the current (and classic) line up.

The most over rated band in history. I saw them a couple of times, early on they were good, headlining Donington they were utterly tedious.
