Have a great time over in Aussie! Your Videos are greatly appreciated, I tell all the Young-uns to watch them, the techniques you use will be long lost in a few years. The `Screws` (arthritis) Got me, but the Docs prescribed Co-Codamol and now the sun shines every day!

Trip to Oz sounds good ...i was there 12 years ago but i was an improver really but got lucky on a big render job in Crows Nest Sydney. Getting the ferry to work and having beers on way home at night , great times 😢 .
Shame about arthritis but Feel your pain Andy, must admit after nearly 40 years in the game & 3 back operations in the last 4 years thinking of packing it in, have a great break in oz
Try the mortar raking tool which attaches on to the angle grinder. You can pick them up from screwfix and there relatively cheapish, think I paid £10. Its very good for raking the old lime mortar out of joints. Hope your arthritis gets better. Thanks for the content by the way, very interesting.
We brought a 1930s detached house years ago and to my horror after l took off the blown plaster inside the bay window, there was nothing in between the bricks! I managed to bodge it up.l went up in the loft and the mortar was disintegrating in between the bricks up there! You think the dozy surveyor would have picked it up? Managed to sell it as the new owner was too tight to have a proper survey. Have a great time in Australia, l'm a similar age to you Andy and my knees are playing up, poor old gits!
Lafarge NHL 3.5 from Chalkdown Lime and the colour wash is from Steadfast.I don't know how the prices compare with other companies as I've only used these for many years, NHL Limes differ immensely with the amount of pure lime content, Lafarge and St Astier being the best I wouldn't use any other.
Very nice work Andy enjoyed you're vlog top job mate 👍 have a great trip to Australia with you and your wife enjoy yourself mate you're health is more important look after yourself!!!
Was that the 14" Footprint Scutch Andy? I think I mentioned it to you a few weeks back. I certainly told Lord Cardigan whose cutting loads out in Bexhill at the moment. Nice tool anyway. The recip saw has made all I lives a lot easier, Bosch do a lovely brick blade. S1543HM. About £22 but worth every penny.
Hey Andy....you've probably heard or read about, most of the remedies for Arthritis. I bet a pint down the Pub tops the options!! LOL But for what it's worth, try Apple Cider Vinegar or Honeygar. Doesn't taste to flash but you'll never look back. Worth a try anyway...

Suffer from brickies elbows and shoulders now almost 35yrs in...
Have you tried CBD andy meant to be great for arthritis, and general back pain
In spite of their designed purpose I've always found Arbortech saws to be too violent for chasing out mortar joints.
Yep 👍
Great job Andy, really interesting content as always. Aussie vlog sounds good. 👍🏻🧱

Very few surveyors will open a loft hatch.
Andy did you use lime when repointing the bay if so what type of and where do you get the brick colour wash

"Pub garden day" - that's our Andy!!
👍👍🍺😁
Andy what does the brick wash consist of is it just red dye and water
Yes but there is a binder in it, I think it's sodium triphosphate but you would have to check as I might be wrong with the spelling.
Lovely job Andy!👍🥇
