I’m loving your podcasts, the format is wonderful. You have a very soothing voice that is easy to listen too. I think that the education system has lost a great teacher. Your life is amazing, not unremarkable at all, and you seem to fill it with marvellous crafts and makes. I look forward to catching up on your podcasts and projects in the future. Good luck with your truly remarkable life and keep doing what you do so well. 👍💕
Hello Helen! As a regular watcher in 2024, having seen your wonderful van expeditions, and your beautiful little knitted friends, it was wonderful to come back and watch the very first episode you made. Thank you for being so brave and going for it! Your channel brings delight to many of us. The music you play in this video is especially lovely. Sending warm, fuzzy cyberhugs, From Tracy
Hi Tracy - thank you for your lovely words! I am so glad that I decided to have a go at this RUclips thing. It makes me very happy that I am able to spread even a little bit of joy around the world!
Hi again Helen, I messaged you earlier this morning, after watching your 171st podcast & have just watched no.1 & I can see that I have come across another AWESOME creator, along with Marlins World, Kate of The Last Homely House & so many more amazing people 🤗🤗🤗🤗 I am already gobsmacked with your talent !!!!!!! I once lived 2 hours away from you, many years ago,in Sheffield where I was born. We came to Australia when I was 9, I am now 70 !!!!!! I wish I still lived near you, so you could teach me stuff !!! Especially crochet, I can manage a granny square blanket, where you go round & round, but cannot get my head around any other patterns, never mind 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Looking forward to watching all your past pods 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much, Pauline, for saying such lovely things! I went to university in Sheffield and loved it there. (PS I am usually much quicker at relying than this! Occasionally a comment slips my notice, especially if I'm away from home). xx
Hi Helen, I've decided today to come to your very first podcast and start at the very beginning, a very good place to start! I found you with a little bit of RUclips magic because I love to knit, adore piggies & as I think I may have mentioned, I'm also a County Durham lass, living in Barnard Castle. My introduction to you was Matthew & Rose's elopement! 🐖🐖 💕 So far, I have watched in no particular order! However, I'm feeling compelled to see all. I love all your makes, your lovely little films, piano accompanying, and seeing your campervan adventures. I have a feeling your makes and creativity will have very positive influence. You already feel very much like a friend. Thank you. Best wishes, and should you ever feel like a trip to Barney, I'd love to meet you! Gillian. 🧶 Xx
Hi Gillian and thank you! I hope you enjoy catching up with my older videos (I liked your Sound of Music reference! 😂) It's also lovely to learn a bit more about you and I hope that we might manage to meet up at some point! Sending you this message from the campervan, about 15 miles from Skipton- ready for going to Yarndale tomorrow! xx
Hi Helen. A friend just told me about your podcasts so I decided to start at the beginning. I love your logo and your piano playing. Looking forward to watching more of your podcasts.
I am a new viewer and watched a future you and decided I needed to start at the beginning. I look forward to your advent series. It will be like Christmas in June.😊 and while I appreciate the information on yarn and patterns, I really enjoy the stories behind the projects, the chit chat and walks. See you later. Take care.
Hi Karen and thank you for coming to spend a bit of time with me! I love it that you will be enjoying Christmas in June! 😂 Very happy that you’re enjoying the mixture of things that I’ve been videoing and chatting about - I’m sure I will be continuing in the same way. All the best, Helen x
Welcome Helen, I found you yesterday so decided I should start from the beginning. I love the pouches you have knitted, and that you have lined them too. A very clever lady who will be watched by many judging by your first efforts. Great details right down to your introduction drawing and music. Excellent and thank you. From Carol 🐹
Thank you, Carol! When I look back to these very first episodes I can see how much I've learnt about making RUclips videos and have to try not to be too critical - so I really appreciate your lovely comment. Of course, I'm still learning and trying to improve! I hope you enjoy following my progress! x
Go8ng back to the beginning. I found your channel a couple weeks back and have watched many in random. I decided I wanted to watch from the beginning. Your talent is amazing and you are very easy to watch and listen to.
Hi Helen! I absolutely enjoyed watching. So peaceful and calming. Your piano playing is beautiful along with all your projects. That strawberry wreath is gorgeous! I love the walk through the beautiful scenery. Was that a thisle bush I spotted? Love those! Have a wonderful blessed evening. 🤗
Hello Helen, it's nice to meet you and I enjoyed your podcast so much. It just occurred to me that the lovely music might be played by you? You have such a sweet personality and voice that is very calming. We share some things in common; I was a children's librarian for many years, love children's books, crochet, knitting, and sewing. Thanks for sharing.
Isn’t it great how we can connect with like-minded friends in different parts of the world? How lovely to work as a children’s librarian! Yes - the music is played by me - so when I make these little videos I am making use of a variety of skills!
A delightful first podcast.....very enjoyable. I loved your piano music played during the video scenery. I’m so curious about the number of books that you have on your shelves. I’m actually quite nosy, and would like to see some of those in one of your podcasts. The wreaths and garlands book I also have a copy of, but as yet, not made anything from it.
Thank you, Marion! It’s hard not to be too self-critical when making these podcasts, especially when it’s a completely new skill! I keep meaning to do a podcast or two where I show the books on my shelves - so that will definitely happen at some point soon!
Hi Helen. I just found you today, and enjoyed your holiday in Acomb with your mam. So i subscribed and am watching this very first episode. I love crafts too. And like your quiet calm manner.
Hi Bernice, and thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a lovely comment! Thanks for joining me and I hope that you enjoy catching up with some of my previous podcasts!
@@mousiemakespodive6just found you too. I watched your Acomb holiday. Love watching Kate too. Have now subscribed and just watched your first episode xx
I've just found your videos and I am so enjoying them. You live in a part of the country that we will be moving too in the near future. Being a knitter, crocheter, cross stitcher and now just started sewing I can't wait to retire so I can spend more time crafting 😊. ❤
Thanks, Karen - I am so glad you're enjoying spending time with me. I'm sort of semi-retired and love it that I have a bit more time for doing lots of different creative activities (including making videos for RUclips!) x
I just saw the finished version of your cushion on Instagram. I was surprised that you made one yourself to help your friend make hers. You must've been a wonderful teacher back at your school :)
Once I’d started making the cushion (and I hadn’t really intended making more than 3 or 4 rounds!) I thought it would make rather a lovely gift for one of my relatives for Christmas! ;)
Thanks, Sarah - yes, it’s me playing the piano (though I have rather crude recording equipment!) I cringe a bit when I look at these first episodes but it’s never really a comfortable experience watching oneself!! 😂😊
