- A detailed review of a new perfume from Chopard created by Alberto Morillas (Aqua Di Gio fame).

Base notes: Moroccan atlas cedarwood, Cistus absolute, Labdanum absolute, Indonesian patchouli, Indian cypriol/Nagarmotha, South American Guaiac wood.
Middle notes: Frankincense oil, Frankincense resin.
Top notes: Ceylon cinnamon oil.

I have it in my collection. The journey you said about is absolutely right. The first time when I had a sniff of it, it was at a shoppers stop outlet at bangalore airport. I heard about this perfume, so had to try it. I was so turned off by smelling it initially! But after a year later, when I smelled it, it smelled amazing to my same nose. Hence, I believe that I graduated in my perfume journey with flying colors!!
And as a passionate collector what I feel is that this journey of educating our nose never ends.
So, cheers to people like us learning and understanding about a particular form of art and enjoying the journey thoroughly❤

This the warmest perfume I have ever worn. The only thing that would work that perfume in lovely way is when it mixes with body sweat. Absolutely masculine!

I like Black Incense Malaki even more than Oud Malaki, it's Alberto Morillas' strongest creation ever. Like an aromatic Gucci Guilty Absolute on steroids... mind-blowing!
If interested in Oud, please try the "Garden of the Kings" series from Chopard.
I was curious about this one, so this was helpful 🙏 I assumed Dominique Ropion was the perfumer as he did the Oud Malaki but it's Morillas 🤔 interesting.
Morillas has many tricks up his sleeve. Bvlgari Black series also phenomenal at that price.

Thanks for another great review. I am suffering from Covid and lost my sense of smell 10 days ago... Although now smelling power is gradually coming back, I am getting different smell of perfumes than what I remember. Since you are a doctor, can I please request you to make a video on how to get the sense of smell back after covid? This will help several of your viewers to enjoy the fragrances after Covid infection. Fragrances can definitely uplift the mood in these sad times.

Avoid fragrances at all costs for now bro. Just give it adequate rest. Pure Sandal and Khus oils on wrists help a lot. But just use minimal amounts. Cheers. Get well soon.

Nikhil, you might want to try and review Chypre Siam and other perfumes from Rogue Perfumery. Thankfully they don't comply with IFRA norms and hence reminds one of chypre/vintage perfumes of yesteryear.
Exactly, Nikhil Bhai should look into this house. Specially, Chypre Siam, Mousse Illuminee, Bon Monsieur and others at the same time.

Oud Malaki is the best from Chopard, This indeed inclined more towards oud characteristics and I completely agree with you but this still could not come near the completion of oud malaki

I own Oud Malaki and love it. It's so good and one of my favourites. The Oud and the tobacco come through so nicely and it projects well too.
Chopard is a relatively less known house but have some good ones in their collection. I also blind bought 1000 Miglia Vintage which is also sensational. Took a while to get used to but the leather and violet leaf combination is just amazing. It also has an asphalt note which I found very intriguing. And both the bottles are a collector's item in their own right ...

It's rare these days to see such brands hiring established perfumers to create such avant garde compositions bro esp at this price. If a perfume smells good I dont bother about it's ingredients.
