flamingkitten1 That's one thing that sold me on the show in the first place - usually, the goofy, childish characters are kinda dumb, but Jake is sharp as a tack.
Right? Addiction is absolutely a disease, which is not only genetically linked but is also indicative of self-medicating to cope with other underlying issues, such as depression and stress (which is also a disease which, when left untreated, can have very serious physical effects). Treating addiction as a disease rather than a moral failing helps, but it can't be beaten unless you deal with the underlying issues as well -- which is therapy is also an absolute must.
One of the things I love about Jake is how he’s not a stereotype. He’s not dumb like many goofy comic relief characters, he’s insanely smart and talented and the show takes him seriously despite his personality.
Galactic Jewels I think this moment is to show how Jake is insanely smart but because of this that’s why he acts all silly. He knows how to actually grow up but doesn’t want to as it’s more fun and it makes his feats more recognized.

And thus Brooklyn Nine Nine made the history of bottle episodes. A damn great guest star, a significant step forward in characterization, and three Oh Damns.
Community's Remedial Chaos Theory and the ballpen episode(which I forgot the title) would like to say hello. But the epicness and level of acting in this episode is so damn great.
This, The Box, is one of the standout episodes of Season five. It's quite clearly the "Bottle Episode" intended to minimise budget but it's such a fantastic character study and shows just what the writers are capable of with minimal resources. Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher absolutely slay in this performance
While both Samburg and Braugher were great this episode, I think Sterling K. Brown was kind of underrated. He was smoother than butter throughout the entire episode and tried to be the smartest guy in the room. I think if they got somebody else, I don't think the episode would've worked as well as it did.
@@moone_milena Usually an episode where the main crew of a show is "bottled up" in a certain area/room. This allows for lower budget, because you don't need to hirr any background characters or even in the episode of this video's case also no need for the other main-crew characters. The problem is that you need to be creative to make a bottle episode watchable and enjoyable. A whole episode where the same characters are constantly in scene in the same room may get boring quickly. The show "Community" had an amazing bottle episode too. It was about a missing pen and it was written brilliantly.
I'm so sad they cut the last line in this scene where jake sighs and says "man i love this job" that's a line to end a whole damn show on and it isn't even a season ender

I love how much more comfortable Jake and Holt are with each other, openly laughing together, joking about Kevin...honestly the best father-son duo on TV 💘💘💘
You cut one of my favorite parts in this episode. When Jake was looking satisfied and said he loves his job. I admired Jake for that so much. He has passion for his job which is one of the things that made him the best at it. That's really admirable. I wish they'd renew this show. I'm praying.
This episode was great, the only thing I missed was when he revealed the weapon Holt should've said somenthing in the lines of: we couldn't handle the tooth

We all know there’s been other scenes where both Jake and Holt showed they’re basically Father and Son in a figurative sense, but I think this scene locks that in for good. Jake and Capt. Holt Best Son and Father on TV
I honestly believe no one would’ve broken phillip even they used jake’s idea. Reason why jake got phillip to confess was because the way he delivered his monologue, jake was so confident and believed in what he was saying which was killing phillip inside because phillip knew the truth
This is my all time favorite scene in the whole show. I come back to watch it every now and then. The most perfect part is the orchestra music at the end when they’re leaving the building. The opera that Holt didn’t go to.
I really appreciate the fact that this show could have easily stuck to stigmatizing addiction, but the writers made a conscious choice to add lines acknowledging the challenge of it. It's small, but it's notable, and it matters.

I think sometimes people forgot how smart Jake is and that when Holt first arrived Terry called him one of the best detective in the 99

Michael Eyob and thank god he didnt
The first episode is a competition between him and Amy to see who has the most cases solved in the precinct and Jake's winning
