Marais definitely deserved an AoW like Moonveil where it has 2 different attacks depending on whether you follow up with a heavy or light attack. The heavy is the spin, whipe a light would be the ranged swings.
@9:36 100% agree, Claymore with the "sexy GS moveset" of Light Attacks with an alternating Heavy (Thrust Slash Thrust and so on and so forth) would be the ideal moveset on a GS, that and have its 1-handed Heavy combo from Dark Souls 1 of Thrust then upwards Slash.
The two handed move set of the Knight's Greatsword is currently my favorite. Jumping light attack combos into standard light attack, and second light attack combos into third light attack if you unlock and turn your character left. So good for setting up ashes of war to roll catch like piercing fang or flaming strike. Also great for status effects when using ashes of war like chilling mist or poison mist.
Ordovis is my go-to. Crucible knight build in general is badass and powerful. Plus with a bit of compromise in the faith and strength you could easily wield the absolutely broken Blasphemous Blade
The Knight's Greatsword should in fact have the Claymore R2, in fact it deserves it more than the Claymore because the blade shape is more conducive to thrusts (The blade is longer and tapers to a narrow point, if it was a real sword design the Knight's Greatsword would be superior in thrusting attacks when compared to a Claymore) Change my mind
Knights Greatsword for me, purely based on looks. I built a character completely around using the Darkmoon Greatsword, but when I finally acquired it I didn't like how it looked, so I went back to my Knights Greatsword. I also used the Iron Greatsword a fair bit because it definitely hits harder.

@@nicholastaylor5354that’s what I did lol. She was kicking my crucible knight’s ass so I moved a little bit of strength and faith around and BB’d her to death. Taker’s Flame really evens the odds
Curved greatswords honestly just feel better to me but I can't deny greatswords are solid in ER. Other than the mlgs I could never get myself to use greatswords in previous games
Claymore is the best overall, but the Iron Greatsword is also excellent for a Strength build. Very high AR and the highest poise damage of any GS, plus it gets great strength scaling on Blood and Cold infusions. The regular horizontal R2 is underrated. It comes out very fast and Impaling Thrust can animation cancel into it, giving the IGS a poke and a brutal combo at the same time.
@@nathreetimesnineequalstwen7172 I would assume not, but it’s surprisingly fast and I usually land it.
