    For anyone wondering HOW to create this kind of website, it is done using one of the online website builders out there - 90% built with either wordpress or squarespace. Inside of these two builders you have different "templates" that you can choose from that give you the basic look of the website. From there you tweak to your liking and then create your page layouts. Long term wordpress has more features and better SEO, but short term squarespace is easier. I've worked with and designed on both. *Click "read more" for a few examples:*
    Here is a website I built with wordpress + prophoto7 and the "free fall" theme: hoffmannphotographer.com
    Here is another built with wordpress + tri-o theme: tailoredfitphotography.com
    Here is one built on squarespace (not my design): www.henry-tieu.com/
    Showit.co is also another new website builder specifically for photographers
    If you like the look of the prophoto7 design, use this code for $20 off prophoto 7 - pro.photo?qbr=SHOF2672
    *Disclaimer - I receive a small commission if you use this link - Feel free to purchase whatever theme / service you like!

    • @TailoredFitFilmsandPhoto
      @TailoredFitFilmsandPhoto 5 лет назад +1

      Hey Scott! Great question - And the answer is "kinda" haha. They would have all used a website builder tool of some kind, and probably worked off of a pre made template that they tweaked to fit their liking. Usually this is done using either wordpress or squarespace. Personally I use wordpress with a prophoto theme on my site hoffmannphotographer.com, and the theme tri-o for wordpress on my other site, tailoredfitphotography.com --- Here is a unique code for prophoto that will give you $20 off: pro.photo?qbr=SHOF2672
      *disclaimer, I will receive a small commission if you sign up with prophoto using that code - Feel free to use whatever service you choose!

    Please include information about how to secure your website and why it matters. When I checked with GoDaddy, I believe the cost was around $190/ year. If I am not doing e-commerce through my site, how does it affect me? It seems like another way for hosts to make money.

    • @SignatureEdits
      @SignatureEdits  4 года назад

      Hi Deb! Totally unnecessary to do that - A basic SSL certificate is all you'll need. If you use siteground they actually include this for free (which is one of the many reasons I switched from hostgator to siteground!) Using GoDaddy and Hostgator you can manually buy + add an SSL certificate for like $10/yr from a 3rd party but the process is confusing... Again why I just went with siteground :) Using this affiliate link will give you a discount: www.siteground.com/index.htm?afcode=92b8e0fd46757e7bf808f1005a3a6e41

    You lost me at 24:44. For a wedding photographer it is highly important to know the location / venue of the event. Iy's not extra info. it's must info

    • @SignatureEdits
      @SignatureEdits  3 года назад +1

      I agree it's important info! The question is, WHEN do you need that info? The more questions upfront, the lower the contact rate. So sometimes it is better to get the initial contact, THEN followup for more info :)

    • @sameermangtani
      @sameermangtani 3 года назад

      @@SignatureEdits Of course not in a hurry! But the quote should be shared only when you know most of it. In India where I work, clients and specially event agencies hide a hell lot and surprise you with things you can't imagine. If you asking questions is not working with the client then it's better you don't work with that client.

    • @SignatureEdits
      @SignatureEdits  3 года назад +1

      @@sameermangtani Great points - You're right - with Indian weddings the context is totally different and near impossible to provide even a rough starting quote without more info :) I agree - Ask the amount of questions you need to ask rather than surprising the client with hidden charges down the road! @@SignatureEdits All this stuff is the same blueprint, aesthetic, vibe etc especially when it comes to the creative of the work itself. I understand for the average photographer or beginner looking to get into cookie cutter gigs, but you should push yourself to make content catering to high level creatives who try to score gigs purely off their unique artistry. The market/ web design is so saturated for wedding photographers/ photographers of this level of work. Yeah it may be easy to navigate and approachable w good UX, but 9/10 photographers have some website around this same concept/ design to where you give off the same energy to each client. For ex, Dexter Navy's website (check it out if you haven't). Yeah, it may not be the best UX for the average person, but when it comes to working with clients people dream of, the creative is there and makes the person stand out.
