It sounds like a lithium battery in someones device caught fire, and that would be a point of no return. I doubt it was the buss itself. They likely have a storage compartment for things people carry that won't fit on the bus passenger compartment.
If there was a fire inside the bus, they wouldn't have needed passing vehicles on the outside to wave at them and point out the fire. It was coming from the engine area.
google how many cars and bikes have exploded worldwide cause of a lithium battery...it's shocking these things are still being manufactured and mass marketed knowing these batteries can blow up in a moment, unprovoked.

We'd love to find out exactly what the "explosion" was, and where it originated on the bus, especially since there is so much violence and "protest" from our unknowns. It might not be an accident.
The bus was being shadowed by a UAP. Moments before the fire broke out, one witness commented the she saw a purplish beam of light from the craft at the rear of the bus.
Not long after her Twitter account went dark and everything was deleted, even the video she shot
There were 2 VERY loud explosions. And several smaller ones. I would also love to know what caused an explosion of that magnitude, because it shook everything and the noise level was just unreal.

The fire chief stated that the fire originated in the engine of the bus.

Glad everyone got out safely. Also, we don't know yet what happened so don't just blame the bus company without knowing. It could have been something in someone's luggage as well.
