Exactly the kind of playing and tones I want to hear with an offset guitar. Thank you CME for allowing your dude Ehmed to shred this guitar. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the official video....no disrespect. Well done....👌
Feels like a strat and a mustang had a baby with a Starcaster and a Guild electric and gave that baby Brian May style pickup switching. That sounds really cool and might be worth a look at some point
Really great looking guitars, the only things I'd change is the exaggerated size of the headstock and the switches. It's a good sounding, unique instrument in terms of what you hear, but at the same time it reminds you a lot of a Fender Mustang (the Guild is way more beautiful though, specially the blue one). I've seen the deluxe version too and they're even prettier, also at a very convenient price and a quality thing despite being made in Asia.
I feel that these were so close to being quite excellent but just slightly off for me. Love the Starfires and really hope the Guild brand produces great guitars with fenders build quality but just a bit different!
Great chord voicings, Ehmed Nauman. What are those chords at the very beginning of the video? Fabbomundo! I just bought a Surfliner, which is en route. You neglected to mention the most unusual feature of the Streamliner: it has 23 frets. CHEERS
Not a fan of 21-fret electrics, but that neck pickup is special. Doubt I'd ever use this w/o it being switched on. Neck/middle was beautiful, and neck/bridge was almost as good.
@@kingstumble Oh, is it? I hadn't seen that mentioned anywhere. I'd assumed marketing folks at major companies would see this stuff pretty quickly. What's the relation to the Pacific Surfliner? The fact that there's a train station in Oxnard?
How can you beat that price? Guild is giving younger players, and players who are experienced with but with shallower pockets exactly what they want...an offset vintage themed guitar that has.modern electronics and plays well, all at a budget guitar price. I still have a feeling that a ton of people will reach for the Epiphone or Squier simply because so many people are sheep and see something a million other people have, so they want it, too. Sigh. I hope they sell a million of these things, but I do wish they were not owned by Fender. It's also too bad they're not built here, but I guarantee those people in Indonesia are working their asses off, doing their best work because they are happy to have a job to support their families. You know, like Americans used to be. Lol. I don't think it matters where the instrument is built if it's mass produced, but it sure is nice to see that "USA" on the headstock.
I am a Guild owner of those 60 guitars S50 S100 with stand and beautiful pickups and action including a Brazilian rosewood acoustic d55. Its a shame that Guild has chosen to sully the brand with supposed new guitars of which the Polara is already there
looks and sounds great but it's basically an offset strat and i dont like the neck. plus the switching looks clunky and it's a "surf guitar" with no trem?
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!
SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE CHICAGO MUSIC EXCHANGE!!
I just grabbed one in blue from CME
Had no idea these were a thing, just happened to check out CME and fell in love with the style immediately
That's awesome!! Enjoy!
It’s like a mustang jaguar

Thank u so much dude :)
@@ehmednauman. Thank you for crushing me with awesomeness!!
Make Ehmed your dedicated guitar reviewer. You friggin rip bud
U are the absolute homie 🫡😎
Agreed I want to buy one just based on his first riff, it screams Skramz band
Those were some mighty fine tones you conjured up there. That guitar seems like a bargain.
Nice! Throwing some Unknown Mortal Orchestra in the demo.

Your playing and ability to hone in the tone variation of the Surfliner is really selling it . Well done sir !
🤘🤘
This has some special mojo, and for a ridiculously low price. I Need to try one!
How refreshing to hear someone not playing blues or buttock riffs. This type of playing and tone really tells me what this guitar does.
Dude you're an INCREDIBLE guitarist
Holy shit they sound GREAT

I like m. They sound like a strat clean. But overdriven they are fatter and their own thing!
These pickups to me are really an amazing development.
I feel that these were so close to being quite excellent but just slightly off for me. Love the Starfires and really hope the Guild brand produces great guitars with fenders build quality but just a bit different!
Please feature this guy in every demo!
Reminiscent of the Meteora. Would love to try one… might want a semi hollow Guild first though.
I don’t care about the guitar this guys playing is so nice
Very cool I dig it a lot!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice new Guild, pretty Strat-ish. I like the LB in the bridge and the d’armonds.

They sound like chords taken from the song Bubble Dream by Chon.
I wish Guild named it differently, there seems to be a lot of people out there that think this is strictly a surf guitar.
Not a fan of 21-fret electrics, but that neck pickup is special. Doubt I'd ever use this w/o it being switched on. Neck/middle was beautiful, and neck/bridge was almost as good.
If you’re not a fan of 21-fret guitars you are in luck, this guitar has a very odd 23 frets.
@@acledfloyd i stand corrected, and that's weird. i'd put all them bitches to use, tho
Just bought the hss used for $249. Pretty impressive for the money
I love these!
Indonesian. Just check one out at my local shop.fret work a+.finish a+for me thr only drawback was the neck.Shoulda roasted it.You know I'm right.
Yes Devo
Does Ehmed still live in Vegas and does he still gig around the city?
Your playing is beautiful and has inspired me to get one of these 😁 Thank you ✌️❤️
I feel like calling a guitar a "Surf*****er" but not putting a trem on it is akin to calling an amp a "Surf****" and not having reverb.
It's actually named after the Pacific Surfliner train. Nothing to do with surf music--whatever that is.
@@kingstumble Oh, is it? I hadn't seen that mentioned anywhere. I'd assumed marketing folks at major companies would see this stuff pretty quickly. What's the relation to the Pacific Surfliner? The fact that there's a train station in Oxnard?
@@DJFonzi No idea. It was a quote I saw from Guild. Ask them.
Nicely done! Excellent review and tone samples.
Needs a Bigsby
It's coming!

Where are they made?
Indonesia
Seems versatile and all but without a rosewood fretboard and having a 25.5" scale, I'll pass on it!!!
Great playing , but those switches are a bad design decision ( IMO) .
I am a Guild owner of those 60 guitars S50 S100 with stand and beautiful pickups and action including a Brazilian rosewood acoustic d55. Its a shame that Guild has chosen to sully the brand with supposed new guitars of which the Polara is already there
Hi. I write a f ton of songs
They go to great lengths to not show the poorly fit bridge. And the back of the headstock where it likely says "Made in Indonesia"
If it was "Made in America" it would cost $1200 and be no different than this guitar except for the decal saying where it was made.
looks and sounds great but it's basically an offset strat and i dont like the neck. plus the switching looks clunky and it's a "surf guitar" with no trem?
Thanks for actually playing riffs instead of boomer-blues licks/solos.
songs?
one of them is Swim and Sleep by UMO, the other ones?
first one sounds a lot like Fall of Troy style. kinda like "You Got a Death Wish, Johnny Truant?"
