a friend and I are so fascinated with this game that we made our own expansions. We've play tested them and really like how they play mixed in to the game.
Awesome work. I just got the game for my birthday, still haven't played a single round of it yet :) I'm glad you say it's a great 2 player game, the version I have comes in a pretty diminutive box so I'll be taking it around everywhere now. I liked the review, gave a good sense of how the game plays with some good details but without getting very deep into it such that it would be boring.
This is an amazing game. I just got it and played it 5+ times already. It doesn't get boring due to the variation and can play from 2-8 players. This is a top 10 game for sure.
@ymala1 Yeah, that's an expansion they made for it that they now include with the game. It's good, we like some of the characters and almost all of the bonus districts.
@alexandereno the fun of the game is interaction and knowing the people you play. It's not intended to be a deep board game. Luck is what makes the game fun. You never know who's what.
@spiderfingers86 My box actually came with something they call the dark city expansion, I don't know if that's just promo BS to make you think you got a good deal, but it made me feel good :) I actually haven't played a single game yet so I wouldn't know if the expansion's anything of merit or not. :s
i played this game once with 6 ppl and i can say i was bored to death ... you wait till everyone chooses a role and after that you play once per turn and again wait to see what everyone else does .So much luck involved ,there is a chance that you dont get to play at all in a game ,if the thief always gets you and you are the last to pick a role ... many ppl seem to like this game ,but i just cant see why .so much luck and downtime for a pretty simple card game
I played this yesterday - not impressed at all - as a beginner you are heavily disadvantaged playing the game with ANY person with experience...the "shifting sands" aspect that the roles keep changing is a big turn-off - not only every turn but within that turn as well sometimes...ironically I played with someone who thought this was less random than King Of Tokyo...which I also played...sorry but KOT demolishes this a gamer game - dont pretend otherwise

There is a fun solataire version of this on Boardgame geek :)
this game rocks. 10 out of 10
was this video made in 1988 ?
the game doesn't end when someone lays down 8 cards, the rest of the round is still played out.
Excellent card game but a bit too complicated for my students.
Point Salad

"(if) the thief always gets you..." you're doing something wrong. luck cannot always be blamed for poor play.
Why would you not research how to pronounce the designer's name before you record a video review?
