I've had many people who watched my reloading shorts ask me what die I was using. This is that die. Here is my review.

seating depth consistency .002 +.001 & -.001 runout is really good with all bullets due to the drop thru seating ultimate reloader has a break down with the numbers.
Awesome, thanks
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Your camerawork and explainer is amazing. You don't move erratically fast like others. I can actually read along with you and can actually look at your presentation.
Glad it was helpful!
I have one and I love it.
Awesome
Thank you very much for this video.
Can i ask you if this die will seat bullets like hornady's eldm/eldx properly? Some friends of mine say that i have to use the special hornady die insert. At this time i am using a lee die set...but I am curious how you feel about this.
Thanks again, all the best from the Netherlands.
@@barrycolla2506 yes, no issues
@@hopefulballistics thank you very much👍
I had one and the bullets kept getting stuck on the stem, (hard). However, I never paid attention to the different stem sizes! I just used the one that looked good on the bullet. Is that where I messed up?
@@jcrows6627 must have been. I haven’t had that issue.
I’ve been using the Redding competition seating dies. They are fantastic… but cartridge specific and bloody expensive. I would be curious to see a head to head comparison/analysis of this universal Frankford seater against more high end seater dies c/w runout testing. My buddy uses the Frankford and swears by it.
My redding dies are probably overkill for just hunting and plinking.
Cheers!
If I had to guess the Redding dies would win in every way. Except you’d be paying so much more for inconsequential gains.
Redding is good but way over priced.
Did not know such an animal existed, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Have you checked the finished round with a concentricity gauge?
@@karstenbonitz7991 no
I have one and like it .
Cool
I’m like you, I almost exclusively use that die for bullet seating. The adjustments are dead on, and the ease of placing the bullet in that window seems to keep everything lined up better. Great product, in fact I have several Frankford Arsenal reloading products that I use regularly. Their case trimmer set is amazing, as well as their funnel set, and when I first started reloading I even used their cheap little digital scale.
Awesome, thanks for sharing
I use a variety of die brands. I've never heard of this one. Do they make stems for VLD/secant ogive bullets like Redding does?
I’m not sure, I’ll have to look into that.
@@hopefulballistics I noticed my standard stem was making a ring on the VLD/secant bullets so I reached out to Redding and they advised they make a stem specifically for secant ogive VLD bullets so I had to buy quite a few for all my dies. The standard stems were making a ring on my bullets at the stem contact area. The VLD stems do not
Ive got an antique unit thats similar, but specific to any .308 dia bullet. I use it for seating .300 Savage bullets, mostly.
Nice, what brand?
@@hopefulballistics WS Vickerman in Ellensburg, WA.
Are there special stems for VLD bullets?
I see someone just asked the same question.
Is it compatible for the 300 win mag?
Yes
@@hopefulballistics thanks
Does this work with your wsm and say 30-06 cases?
Sure does
Happy Easter
God Bless
Same to you!
Thats the only seating die i use. Absolutely love it. From now on if i start with a new caliber, Im just getting the resizing die because the seating die will never get used
That’s where I’m at, lol.
How is the seating depth consistency?
From what I’ve experienced pretty good.
Only going to be as good as your neck tension.
This is the only seating die i use for pointy bullets. Cast bullets get the normal seating dies
@@timmartin3188 right on!
How is the concentricity on it. Much bullet run out.
I don’t have a concentricity gauge. I’ve had good tight using groups, that’s all I can say.
Thought about getting one
I use it all the time.
It never leaves my press its definitely a game changer for seating bullets. Only thing I had to do was polish the inside of the stems as they were sticking on the bullet just a small amount and leaving a faint mark.
@@303parkerhale good call out, thanks
Pretty nifty 👍
Sure is
I really like it except for 300blk or 300 ham'r, its about worthless for them.
I’m sure it’s not perfectly universal. Thanks!
@hopefulballistics maybe it should be called a "mostly" universal seater. It sucks when you go to load rounds that you've skipped buying a bullet seater for because you have a shiny new universal die. That you bought to try on a new build only to find out it doesn't work.
I'm replacing it with the sac infinity die when they come back in stock. The franklin just feels cheap compared to le wilson, whidden, redding, etc. Gotta pay to play for better quality.
Makes your seating dies lonely.
Lol
