  • Samsung is building a $17 billion chip fab on 1,200 acres in Taylor, Texas, 30 miles north of Austin. The South Korean company's largest-ever investment in the U.S., the project is expected to cover 6 million square feet when completed.
Samsung plans to break ground in 2022 and be operational by 2024. The facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC).
Samsung expects to create 2,000 high-tech jobs at the semiconductor manufacturing facility in Taylor. It also expects thousands more related jobs once the plant is in full operation.

This is what I was able to find - The 6 million-square-foot Taylor Samsung plant will be located south of Highway 79 and southwest of Downtown Taylor, near Taylor High School. It is expected to bring 1,800 jobs to Williamson County. That plant is expected to start operations in 2024.Jul 21, 2022
