The MoPOP used to be called ‘EMP’ (Experience Music Project)…..it was primary focused on music when it first opened in 2000. They rebranded it to MoPOP in 2016 to include Pop Culture exhibits. I prefer the way they have it set up now, glad you checked it out.
One of my favorite places to go mess around on the instruments back when it was the EMP. Have not been back in a long time. Guess it is time to schedule another visit.
What a beautiful view of puget sound from the space needle. I lived in Seattle from 99-04 I love Washington state. Everyone was so laid back when I lived there. I used to live in first hill then I moved to the u-district then to capitol hill then finally to Kent then I worked at the toys r us off federal way past SeaTac. I miss living there unfortunately I had to move back to New Jersey for family reasons. Great video brought back a lot of great memories. Thank you again and have a great day.
That was the TRU of my childhood! I remember being sad when they finally closed it. I think they've leveled that whole area and it's a performance center or something.
Awesome adventure Adam! Thank you for sharing. I would like to add a well known fact ( if you are from Seattle), The original project of the EMP, now the MoPop, was founded by Seattle's own co-founder of MicroSoft (my good friend), Paul Allen (R.I.P.), He was not to bad with guitar shredding and would jump in with a few sessions with the likes of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam as well as Jimmy Page! All Good Stuff Adam! How about that Space Needle! Some thought it would not last long after the Worlds Fair in 1962. But it turned into the true image of Seattle. My Dad was one of the workers back in the beginning years and I remember when my brother and sister and I would get to run around the buildings on weekends while all the iconic building was happening. That whole Seattle Center/Fair Grounds was definitely part of my formative years. Fond memories.
Adam - also, the Museum of Flight at the south end of Boeing Field/King County Airport? Well worth your time. Take it from a recently retired from Boeing after almost 45 years aerospace afficiando........not to mention the Seattle waterfront aquarium and the Point Defiance Zoo.......and the Seattle Underground tour.......
When we went up the Space Needle in 1986, we were outside with no glass, only a railing being out in the weather, which was cool and cloudy in late September.
Thank Adam for another great adventure in Seattle now. Loved the space needle experience. I went to Seattle in 1978 and was too sick to go to the space needle so this was a treat for me. The museum was very awesome as well. ❤️🙏🏻👍
For an even better view of the city at a fraction of the price of the Space Needle head down to the Smith Tower near Pioneer Square. It's close to one of our smallest National Parks - Klondike Gold Rush National Park, which is also well worth a visit.
Adam, glad you were able to go to the MoPop. I used to go all the time as a member in the late 90’s they used to have lots of Music inside and also a Hendrix ride. I was there when the late Paul Allen smashed the glass guitar from the grand opening. It had Janis Joplin’s hat and Hendrix too. Lots of music items from Al music era’s bunch more stuff. It changes often. Glad you and friends are enjoying Seattle, Wa.
Very interesting museum. I was with my parents in Seattle in 1986, and we went up the Space Needle too. We had driven from NY across Canada 🇨🇦 to Vancouver, BC for Expo 86 there, and back through the US to home. 7000 miles, three week trip. I did all the driving. It would be hard to do it again being age 78 now. Our car was my 1984 Monte Carlo SS. The water pump had to be replaced when we were in Swift Current, Sask. I don't remember if the museum was there back then? Never been back to Seattle since then.
I’ve lived in Washington my whole life and I still haven’t been to MoPop or the Space Needle 😂 the museum looks better than I thought it would be though, so I better see it 😝
It's been fun seeing you in our neck of the woods this weekend! We hope you had a fun visit, although your tours of SoCal has our family wanting to move there. :D
Looks like the TRON costume was Bruce Boxleitner's (TRON himself.) Also, anything classic Star Trek is ah-maze-ing! And Luke's hand? Whoa! I also think of Sean Young from Ace Ventura, Lt. Einhorn. Also, The Matrix is an awesome movie, you should watch it sometime!
Great video!! I loved the MoPop, I went specifically for the Nirvana exhibit. I hated the Space Needle, I was freaking out in the elevator just going up lol. There's a rotating restaurant up there as well that was pretty good.
I loved MOPOP so much during my visit, being a huge Pearl Jam fan I did see a lot of the stuff at the PJ 20th anniversary weekend at Alpine Valley.....highly recommend MOPOP to anyone. The Space Needle was also very awesome to check out....when I went it was a gorgeous sunny weekend so I got lucky there
Omg totally up my alley!!! The lion from wizard of oz was shocking! The costume is VERY fragile and was heavily repaired years ago seen a documentary on it!
We loved Seattle when we were there in 2019. We didn't do the Space Needle but now wish we had. Great vlog ATW as always! Such an easy watch. Thanks for taking us along!
Ha, welcome back to Seattle, and glad you finally got to check out MoPop (previously the EMP&SFM, previously the EMP)--my favorite local museum (now that the Living Computer Museum has shut down).
You got to see Galaxy Quest. You love Star Trek and this is an awesome spoof of the Space Sci-Fi genre. It involves a sci-fi cosplay convention. I think you would find it very entertaining. Check it out! Thanks for the great vlogs! Safe travels!
Adam, awesome and cool museum! Really enjoyed your vlog! I'd be sitting down on the elevator floor going up and hanging on for dear life after getting out of the shower! That's what I did at the oil derrick at SFOT! Thank you for taking me along with you!
You can still ride those Sky Buckets! After the Seattle's World's Fair, they continued to operate at the Seattle Center for years. But then they were eventually moved to the Puyallup Fairgrounds where you can ride them today!
Good morning Adam I look forward to your vlog every morning before starting work. That Mo Pop was pretty awesome and interesting. Now I can have a good day. From Universal Jamie.
Loved this video especially because my cousin lived there and I have never been there myself. I have been in the tower in Niagara falls and Toronto and don’t remember being as weak knee’d as I was watching you walk on the glass and near the glass in the space needle.
When I was there a long time ago when it was the EMP I really enjoyed the fbi report on the song Louie louie by the kingsmen and how it was possibly broke laws at the time. Wild times.
Will you be going to Funko Pop in Everett while you’re up there? Or the Underground Tour in Seattle? Or the Fremont Troll? I used to live up there. I don’t miss the rain. But I do miss the experiences. Thank you for taking us in your travels. I got the chance to give my kids a lesson in music history while watching your Nirvana tour yesterday.
Growing up here those places are so everyday you hardly notice them sometimes ! Great places to visit though and very entertaining for everyone. Last time we went up in the space needle i was watching the parking lot below until we got to a certain height and i had to turn around and not look anymore ! Lol Be sure to take a ferry boat ride while here and go to waterfront.
HEY ATW...ANOTHER HOME RUN FOR THE DAILY WOO! YOW! The MOPOP museum was absolutely mind-blowing! I have to agree with Greg's Game Room, all the Sci Fi relics were the highlight! I was thinking Spock's tunic should be blue. That color was more like Engineering. The Starfleet Insignia did reflect Sciences, so I'm not sure. Luke's hand, with the lightsaber!?!! So awesome! This museum is now on my bucket list! Thank you ATW. Too bad Splorin Ryan wasn't there. That place would've been right up his alley.
You can actually still ride those sky buckets during the Puyallup fair (now called the Washington State fair). They moved the sky ride there many years ago.
I used to be a member but I enjoyed it a lot more when it was the EMP. It had a really cool James Brown funk virtual ride and an excellent CD and books store.
Glad we got to visit with you in Seattle last year before we moved :) If you make it to Pike Place, Piroshky is amazing and Beechers has awesome mac and cheese! Have fun!!
@@selbyjohnson5986 I’m glad George was able to revisit them and do things that he originally wanted. Like most visionaries he has to either wait for technology to catch up or invent it.
Adam seems like a fun guy to hang out with, especially if you talk in movie quotes

I went there when it was EMP - excellent exhibit on Seattle musicians. I was in geek heaven 😇
One of my favorite places to go mess around on the instruments back when it was the EMP. Have not been back in a long time. Guess it is time to schedule another visit.
Yessssss glad you got to MoPop!

The museum of flight is great. Definitely worth a look.
Now that is one day trip I would have enjoyed. The museum looked fabulous and the views from the Space Needle, wow. 👍
I'm in the middle of binge watching The X-Files ... and you blew right by that part of the exhibit. LOL VERY cool museum.
Added to my “places to go” list!!!!!! Amazing museum and trip to the needle ❤
Thanks for taking us on your travels!! I really enjoy watching almost every single day! Stay safe and enjoy Seattle. ☕️
One of my favourite creators in one of my favourite Cities, and at one of my favourite museums no less. This is like a serotonin bomb to the brain.
I got to go there back in 2003 for the first time. As a 14 year old musician at the time it was an amazing experience. So cool.
When we went up the Space Needle in 1986,
we were outside with no glass, only a railing
being out in the weather, which was cool and

yes… True…
MoPOP-Those curved glass displays are awesome. The whole thing is beautifully done. Wow

I love the way you video in such detail even when things go wrong, like the rain all day.

Thanks Adam love the museum specially the sci-fi section phenomenally put together with endless relics from the past Syfy community
That museum still looks like a plane crashed into a Cirque Du Soleil

The Space Needle was also very awesome to check out....when I went it was a gorgeous sunny weekend so I got lucky there
omg i have so many good memories here, i visited Seattle a couple years back and went here, it was incredible!
The museum's collection is incredible.
So cool that you’re here!!
Adam, I have been to the Space Needle. It was Fantastic. Great stream. Thank You for bringing back such good memories.
Omg totally up my alley!!! The lion from wizard of oz was shocking! The costume is VERY fragile and was heavily repaired years ago seen a documentary on it!

That's an amzing collection of pop culture! I remember waiting for the premiere of Nirvana Unplugged on MTV. Thanks for the monorail shots!
I used to live 2 blocks from the space needle.. so glad you made a trip there!
Got to see a rare moment of Adam actually showing somewhat a fear of heights.
Since I live here I know alot about that area. The mopop...is a smashed guitar when scene 🎸 from the sky...
I learned something new about Seattle, thanks that was fun.

Omg this is on my list for my trip im next year. Im going during the week so hopefully it wont be busy so i can take my time looking at everything
This was fun meeting your friends, going to MOPop, & looking out from the top of the Space Needle. Loved it!

I love that place so much!
Wow, MoPop has an amazing collection and fantastic theming. I was skeptical of the admission price but it looks like it's worth it!
That museum is worth every penny. Super cool bro!
Loved this video especially because my cousin lived there and I have never been there myself. I have been in the tower in Niagara falls and Toronto and don’t remember being as weak knee’d as I was watching you walk on the glass and near the glass in the space needle.
The sky buckets now reside at the Washington state fair in Puyallup, still in working order plus original kiosks.
Cool stuff! Looks like a great time!! Please do a video of the Museum of Flight while you are there.
When I was there a long time ago when it was the EMP I really enjoyed the fbi report on the song Louie louie by the kingsmen and how it was possibly broke laws at the time. Wild times.
The likeness of AtW, his bicycle, and the slide belongs in a museum.
Winter in Seattle is rainy instead of the snow, come during the summer or fall perfect weather then!
Yes. Absolutely watch Galaxy Quest!
I love Seattle and MoPop awesome video

Dude.. galaxy quest is one of the best movies ever, totally love that film
Nailed it ! That was awesome Adam
@TheDailyWoo Every time I hear you do your Arnold Impression, your video gets an automatic Thumbs Up.👍
Wait until the Lucas Museum opens. I bet that place will blow your mind.
You NEED to go see the Smithsonian museums in D.C. Would love to see you walk us through it.
I used to be a member but I enjoyed it a lot more when it was the EMP. It had a really cool James Brown funk virtual ride and an excellent CD and books store.
Great Vlog, great museum - nice that you have the company of your sister and B-i-L too 💖
Awesome Arnold voice!
You 100% need to see Galaxy Quest. Especially if you like any of the Star Treks.
cozy weather!
Love love this
Great place to visit!
Adam!!!! Welcome to my state and the city of my birth! Hope you enjoy Seattle!!!!!!

Finkle is Einhorn, Einhorn is Finkle! Glad you enjoyed MoPOP, it's an excellent pop culture museum!
This is totally awesome 😊
OMG, Galaxy Quest is amazing, you've got to see it for sure.
Screen used movie props were awesome! I went to the top of the space needle before they remodeled it. I need to go back!
My prom was at moPOP (experience music project at the time). It’s such a cool place. They had a Minecraft exhibit back in 2020
Great job Adam !!!
Another interesting and great content video from Mr. Woo
I went to The Space Needle when I was around 10 and in my mind it was so much larger!!!
Glad we got to visit with you in Seattle last year before we moved :) If you make it to Pike Place, Piroshky is amazing and Beechers has awesome mac and cheese! Have fun!!
That was a fun day !
Han Solo didn't just shoot first, he was the ONLY one who fired a shot. Greedo didn't see it coming.
