When your autofilled ADC and support hovers Cait/Jhin, trying was never in the cards.

As a former support player (don't really play on SR anymore) I always wanna try new things but you even get flamed for buying the "wrong items" (me building echos instead of moonstone e.g). I tried Anivia supp a few years ago, my team was on board but I barely ever played her so of course I got shit talked and told to "never pick anivia again" because I was so useless and my wall placement awful. Like those things would have been better if I was playing mid? Suddenly everyone needs to know their champ first time? Crazy players

I was wanting to play Bel veth support the other day and my team banned my champ and all 4 reported me because I hovered it... IN DRAFT... Love the community
And somehow, Bel'veth sup become scrim meta now.
How would Belveth support even work though? She has a knockup which is nice utility, but that's all she has. She doesn't have the durability of someone like Braum or Rell, nor the utility of them either. Her dashes are cool but they don't really mean very much in lane unless you manage to bait out skill shots or something. Her AoE rapid attacking is, in theory, nice. But in practice you're completely immobile and are asking to be stunned/bursted by making yourself an easy target.
Your ultimate is also absolutely horrible in a supportive context. It doesn't give you massive damage like Brand or Lux get. It doesn't have any utility like Sona, Seraphine, Maokai, etc. It's just "carry harder". And supports aren't exactly great if their ultimate relies on someone on the enemy team dying and then, with your minimal gold, get to the coral and do damage.
To add onto my comment, at least Cait makes *some* sense. Umbral Glaive exists and gives very nice stats for Cait. But even before she gets that, Cait has great poke, she's got area control through her traps which also guarantees full damage on her Q. She's got self peel through her E which also slows. Her ult won't do as much damage as ADC Cait would, but it's still a nice chunk of damage and it's still mostly the same in the laning phase. Also Cait's passive benefits a lot from bush abuse, which you like to do a lot in bot lane so there's also that going for her.
Like it won't really compare to an actual support pick with competent players on both sides, but at least there's some logic and effectiveness to it.
You know Belvath basically has Yi W when using her "rapid attack" ability, right? She never gets "bursted" when that happens unless 5 people are on her and one of them can somehow do an absolutely insane amount of damage. If anything Belvath is that one champion who just always seems to live and wipe teams. Should also mention supports actually get almost as much gold as laners now, they changed that a long time ago.@@Rasea611
I think if Frozen Mallet still existed, maybe, or go Cleaver 2nd item for insta-shred+Iceborne 1st item. Knight's Vow + Lifesteal items would be nice if it were still strong, or a synergy with Zeke's Convergence on a Marksman with good CC?
The opportunities are there, itemization and strategy. You can get creative.
Without actual testing of said strategies though, it's still on paper, a troll pick in most ways.

As a Senna main I always loved Caitlyn and Jhin. They have such great syngergy with your playstyle (long range poke) and W is easy to hit
I used to play Gangplank support religiously before he was reworked.

Carry supports are better in low elo, mainly because you don't have a team to "support" In low elo.
A good support can climb out of low elo far better than any other role. Trying to hard carry as a marksman in support role doesn't usually work, even in low elo, but playing a support properly can work miracles.
@@imbaby5499 Problem with supp, is ADC needs to be at least decent, otherwise you lose the majority of games unless one of your other lanes gets hyper fed. Why I stopped playing normal supps and play carry supps, they do more in team fights when ADC decides to just go x-10 no matter what you try and do.

By far my most hated change they have ever made was the 4 man ff vote at 15 minutes.
I have never felt more annoyed at anything else in the game than this. I get annoyed sometimes, sure, but THIS has made me almost angry. It's an in the moment anger of course, but still. I have NEVER been more mad by a change in this game or any other game.
I started playing League in 2020, and even I'm sick of the "FF at 15" some people put in chat when they miss half a wave or mess up a gank. Like bro, we're just playing casual, unranked mode, we're not playing to win, we're playing to have "fun".
Well in ranked even if people spamm ff it rarely goes through. Like all 3 lanes and jungle need to be REALLY hard down and even then 2 may vote no.
I mean someone's likely not having fun if they're surrendering at 15. I kind of understand why they do it because if they're not a scaler and they're not having fun now, they won't for the entirety of the game, but when a team is VERY OBVIOUSLY going to win the game despite having a bad time it's frustrating when that crap goes through. The problem is more that one person can carry a game hard enough to where the rest of the team doesn't even matter on either side, which is what causes the rest of the team to want to FF.@@BrightWulph
@jonp1952 I've been in games where the only lane that was having a bad time was Top (first pick got banned by the enemy, then he got outpicked for his second again by enemy top, so he ended up picking a third random option that turned out to be a bad match up) why he didn't just dodge is beyond me, so idk if he was playing like ass on purpose because he was tilted but he was getting creamed up top and kept spamming "FF 15" in team chat despite the rest of the lanes doing well. Heck, my ACD and I were making waves in bot with help from our JG. But the guy just kept inting up top and spamming "surrender" every time the option would become available. We did end up winning, but our top was miserable the entire time.
Like, I get why he wanted to FF. He wasn't having fun because he didn't get to play the champions he wanted to play, but he was also a miserable stack of horse crap the entire game because he was trying to tank our team or was so tilted he couldn't think straight.

The last game reminds me when my mid bot and jungle all got fed, but it didn't matter because the top enemy Kled did to and just started ulting into our entire team and killing everyone. The fact that there are champs in this game capable of just solo winning 1v5 regardless of how strong the enemy team is really is stupid.
Kled is strong but not THAT strong... He had to have been hella fed with a team that could still do a lot even if they weren't fed, One damage type, or you had a team that was real squishy without a Frontline to succumb to him.
@ConfettiBerg we had a voli, who kled destroyed top, with a poppy jungle. Our mid was Ori and Ez both left lane with 1-2 kills more than jled, ori at 7 and Ez at 6 while Kled had 5. Based on gold earned at the end of laning, gold was even between the 3 of them and poppy slightly behind by like 500g.
Kled would literally ult/TP into us, and while early on we might kill him, he would take 2-3 of us with him, which meant he just got stronger until he was literally 1v5ing our team.

My EXACT response when they showcased her. They kept talking about jungle, and all I could think was "This is a top primary, mid secondary, jungle if you feel spicy kind of champion." She was BUILT for laning. Her ulti is one of the best mid lane roam ganker abilities in the game, and her kit demolishes most high skill ceiling Top champions. The idea she'd be primary jungle is an absolute joke that never should have been made.
I still wonder how. Briar early is so weak.

Briar has the single best level one, two, three, and four engage in Top, getting beat out at 5 and 6 by mid game scalers if she hasn't built a lead yet, but by level 9+ she's back to absolute dominance against any and all comers with the sole exception of full armor stackers like Rammus, malphite, and thresh going full armor anti-aa. And even then she still wins the 1v1, but auto dies to a gank if she's caught on an engage.

When I do these off meta picks as adc support the main response I get is "Do you wanna go adc?" so now my ptsd doesn't lemme have the balls to pick adc as support again
or worse, they auto lock in a supp themselves.

As someone with a Teemo onetrick account in mid diamond, sometimes he gets banned by my team while hovering...so instead, I go Nasus, and build full lethality with essence reaver (somehow it's worked really well the couple of times I've had to do it, even after losing lane hard/getting camped)
It's really quite comical.
If someone bans who I am hovering, I pick yuumi, even jungle idc

I was nasus mid otp in low masters euw last year , and i had people on my team banning nasus on regular basis (to make it clear i had 55% wr after 600 games or so that season so it was not griefing). People are insufferable till high masters - low gm.
I'd even debate high dia - low masters is the worst place to play at, since people tend to believe they're just about to become pro players and their ego is appropriate to their beliefs

You should always be looking to carry, as a support that can very well be doing damage and killing depending on your champ, or it can be outplaying with utility and peel.
I go mostly for dmg supports cuz without dmg I can't hold the wave on mid with soraka or some shit like that.. while my team just decides to go fight a team fight that they know they can't win. They have seen it happen at least 5 times before not being possible to win .. but they still go into the unwarded jungle to fight the enemy.
