This live performance is probably one of the best and one of the clearest and that mix that they mixed in with the prince song along with the synth thing that gordons mixed into flux is just amazing!!!
That stands out so much. I was here, and saw them again the following year. At this show they seemed so happy to be there, really sucking in the moment. One year later, it was as though it didn't mean nearly as much for them, as it was just another day (same slot on the bill. Only difference was a higher budget on lasers). I don't know if something was genuinely wrong, but it was Kele almost looked like he didn't want to be there, whereas in 2008, they barely stopped smiling.
Not enough LOL hahahah. Bloc Party, is BESTIAL, but, time makes time, and i mean there are other bands, with more musical experience, time, and consolidation. I was only saying to simocullen7: Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys weren´t the only bands in Reading! Aaaaaaaaaall fine, but, can you compare Radiohead with BP? :/
I'm not being funny, but he is playing live, at a festival, as well as playing rhythm guitar, and co-ordinating crowd participation. It's not gonna sound as good as any performance made in a studio which is then fine tuned and processed. Besides, you can't compare Kele to much of these - his voice is nothing like Ray Charles or James Brown and never will be - but then again Beck's and Prince's are nothing like them either. Oh, and Kurt Cobain??? Do *your* research "firs".
@AmbushUnit no its really bad. i just cant give these guys a compliment for this because it just dosent work. it was a bit cheesy when prince did it but this is just a load of rubbish. if you ever watch prince performing it live you will see its a compleatly different type of performance. he has so much energy wheras this sounded boring. nice medley into their own song though
It's weird how bloc party truly had such an incredible depth and soul to their music. Sad, they seemed to get in their own way.
I wish they would record a full cover of I Would Die 4 U
been a fan for years (2004), been to all reading performances and a ton of gigs, this moment was by far the best ever! made me tingle inside.
This live performance is probably one of the best and one of the clearest and that mix that they mixed in with the prince song along with the synth thing that gordons mixed into flux is just amazing!!!
He is vocally amazing. He sounds so perfect :/
Thank you so much for posting this. You bring back a golden memory
LEGENDARY NIGHT, the first time that the lasers came on!
Yay. Cheers for the upload. I was gutted when they took this off. Kudos!
Well this certainly explains why my brain liked Flux so much
We don't care if he can or can't sing, Bloc Party is amazing even if he can't sing...
1:21 Kele "do not sing, please?" 1:29 just awesome...
Thanks for reposting. I was wondering what happened to the original.
nice 1 for bringing it back
I love this performance so much due to full of their naiveness & innocence.

Vocals are awful, they don't work at all. Anyways, Prince attorneys will probably take down this video too, lol.
