"Signs" (particularly this version) helped me though a muder-suicide in the family. It is hard to let go but Bloc Party helped me feel without breaking down completely.
I've always found Bloc Party to be incredible soothing during tough times. There's just something peculiar about them that gives you the chills and strikes that emotional note.
Bloc Party is one of those rare bands - a perfect mix of style and talent. Equal parts groovy and upbeat while still able to convey a tender melancholy. Matt is one of the most solid drummers around, and understands the role of a good beat to any song. For this reason I consider him to be one of the most valuable drummers in modern rock. Kele's mix of swagger, charisma and raw emotion make him a powerhouse on his own and the band does a great job of complimenting him. LONG LIVE BLOC PARTY!!!
i love this comments section for whats arguably one of the greatest bands of all time. all albums up until hymns were great to amazing in their own unique way.
Bloc party is one of those bands that meant a lot to me. I grew up with them, and intimacy was my fav. It was like silent alarm and weekend rolled into one. With signs being one of my all time favourite songs. It will always hold a place in my heart but feels like it’s time stamped, just not the same now!
@@danjonesdj completely agree, its like my teenage years in music. Now I'm 27 and come back this album in-particular often. But haven't followed much of Bloc party's stuff beyond intimacy.
And that's the sound of an amazing band live in the studio. Thanks for the upload. It's hard to believe they could make 'Mercury' and 'Better than Heaven' sound so good live, but it just goes to show how good they were as a live band!
Jesus, imagine having Russell in an interview with Travis Baker from blink-182! CHRIST no-one would be able to get a word in edge-ways, they'd just go crazy!
Wondering why nobody has posted the full session to RUclips yet, because didn't they play stuff like Banquet, and Halo as well? If anyone can find it, it's you. I would love to watch the full sesh. Also, Intimacy is still the best album in their discography, hands down.
Unfortunately, the DVD does not exist... this was a tv broadcast, and the full set was only available in a special edition of Intimacy that came with a link to a secret video content web site. Maybe in the future...
Whatever the BP video, it always thrills me so bad ! :) And thinking i gotta see them live at last, at Paleo Festival next month... Thank God ! Can't wait ! And can't wait as well for FOUR, this August... hopefully it'll be a nice one... i wish they'd release some material close to what they did in SILENT ALARM, which to me is a goddamn great album ! Peace to all BP fans outta here ! 8D
Malone .j2 the single 'The Love Within' has grown on me a little, but even that doesn't compare to the old Bloc Party one bit. People say that it's normal for the fans to dislike new material at first, but I always enjoyed new albums; some more than others. This new one just doesn't sound like them. It's sad.
+SpicyBeanBurgers Just goes to show how musicians are not really replaceable. When it comes to making music, people put a piece of themselves into it. Gordon and Matt were truly something special.
some bands can grow and change members and morph and keep the original energy, but it always grows into something else. . . change is the only unstoppable force
Green Day, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Animal Collective, Battles, Linkin Park, KoRn, Tyondai Braxton, Jimi Hendrix, Live, Yeasayer, The Doors, The Sleepy Jackson, Jack White, The White Stripes, Beck Hansen, Avey Tare (and Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks), Panda Bear, Woods, Tame Impala, The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beach Boys, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Dan Deacon, Cypress Hill... ETC. The point is, there are countless amounts of bands that are amazing live. Better yet... Better.

+Avalon Oakford I'm very sorry to hear that. Bloc party has helped me on my darkest days as well. Thanks for sharing.
I'm so glad this song helped you. Music is such an amazing thing.

@@namename-tr8il lol fuck off
shame the studio version was so dissapointing

Matt is such an unbelievable drummer!
i love this comments section for whats arguably one of the greatest bands of all time. all albums up until hymns were great to amazing in their own unique way.
bloc party simply the best band now and then
I once again severely underestimated how good this album was. I guess i was too fixated on Silent Alarm's brilliance. These guys are just great.

I understand. Been coming back to this band again and again since I was 16. I'm 30 now. Will always be a part of me, etched into me.

I read somewhere that Matt was the ninth drummer that the band worked with at the start. Well worth the wait.
better than heaven sounds great live, I hope they tour soon!
Rumor has it they're getting ready to write a 5th album. If they do they'll most definitely be touring it after release.
peetahp3 Matt left the band did he not?
lolh4x Unfortunately, yeah.
lolh4x Gordon left too. At least temporarily.
Such a brilliant singer.
Seriously, this band means so much to me. I'LL SEE THEM IN CONCERT ON FRIDAY!! I'M SUPER EXCITED!!
Still love these guys so much 😩♥️
QUE ES ESTO TAN HERMOSO EN MI VIDA! Colombia los espera!!
such a superb song and a cracking sound as well

Oh men remember when the music was made with love and everything was so good !! 😢😢🎸😎

I remember seeing more of this, yeah. Was a great set and fantastic recording.
Bloc Party... Total respect...

Nodding my head every two seconds during Signs....just too go good!
Incredible video from an even more incredible band! I have seen them live so many times and screamed every word to every song!!!!!!!!!
This should have so many views! This is like a full set too!
Unfortunately, the DVD does not exist... this was a tv broadcast, and the full set was only available in a special edition of Intimacy that came with a link to a secret video content web site. Maybe in the future...
Bloc party is the best band ever!
so trueee!
they are the best, cant wait for the new album :)
SO GLAD I FOUND THIS! THANKS!

19:15 that little drum thing makes me weak in the knee's for some reason. It's so good. I've replayed it dozens of times.
Truly amazing!
nobody is ever gona come close to this! believe me, since they have gone, ive tried to find it!!!
first song is incredible.
no other bands can compete with these guys
Matt Tong, the drumer, is the heart of this band!
Bro this is so much better than the studio version
Such a good band 👍
Incredible... :D
It's crammed with gold nuggets, yes Sir ! :)
in a studio like abbey road, that is an EQ controler for the headphones... sorry for my crappy english :P
another weekend in the city isn't a proper album, it's just a compilation of B-sides..
and yeah silent alarm is amazing, but I love them all
Love them
OMG! Mercury Boom My head
Amazing.
This band was something epic. fresh. What happened?
+latititan They split up. the new album isn't the bloc party we knew
+SpicyBeanBurgers It's depressing honestly. I can't bring myself to like Hymns

I often dream about performing my songs this way
better than heaven
still great even in 21
Anybody know what effects Russell uses during the verses of Better Than Heaven?
u mean weekend in the city or Another Weekend in the City?
on a chill slow day Another Weekend in the city for sure
but idk Silent Alarm is amazing
Only band I have ever heard sound better live than on record, absolutely incredible group.
@truthis1on1 the link came on the original cd and it's not longer available. I reckon this video is all that's left.
How the f*ck does Matt playing the drum solo in Mercury ?? Impossible !!
They have Giaus Baltar as a producer?
why are people so obsessed with silent alarm. I absolutely love all three albums, and hoping Four will be just as good!
23 minutes well spent!
MATT TONG!! Listen and lay back !
Because Silent Alarm was easily their best album.
Period...
And three albums?
Another Weekend In The City...
Alekseyyyyyy Well said bro, well said
I need this DVD :( But it isn't ANYWHERE :'(
Very good, but is there a part in which they smile, even a lil' bit?
SUBBED just cos of this video, please give me more xD

Kele breathes fire @ 10:16
Seriously... Gordon can play anything...
PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what kind of shoes is he wearing at 1:45??
@Kirkebyen he doesn't need to.
Another Weekend wasnt a real album made by the band, it was a collection of b-sides. But if it was a real album, it would be their second best.
@Kaoxon No mate, all the guys make this fantastic band.
i blame my uncle charlie!!
What is the song that plays at the end?
Biko
Better than heave is a máster song but live sounds quite diferent
1:01
What is the song Talons about please ? I'm french so I don't get everything
It’s about STDs
Thank you
23 minutes and Russell dosnt say a word...
only 7 dislikes in almost 10 years
other guitarist(forget his name) looks really not into it :/. new album will be great tho and i hope he's feeling better about things now
What is the thing that appears on minute 6:33? and what does it do? I see that a lot of musicians had it, but i don't know what the f*ck is it

The drummer seems a bit bored in Signs, and once it gets to mMercury he's givin' it socks!
damn no!
And yet you have not listed a single band that is better live than on record. Learn proper argument before trying to flame people bro. Pro tips bro
