Here are five of the top welding jobs: Pipe welder. Aerospace welder. Military support welder. Underwater welder. Certified welding supervisor. weldinglist.co...
UNDER water welders are one of the highest payed because it’s so risky . Not only do people die form electric shock , but they also die from decompression sickness and drowning. they make about 200-300k a year but most of them don’t get to live that long. Second highest payed are tig welders as they deal with a lot of ferrous and non ferrous metals. Especially aluminum because it’s used on a lot of things from aerospace, boats , cars etc. the last reason why tig welders also make bank is because it’s pretty challenging . You have to keep control of the foot peddle, while dipping the rod to the weld puddle and at the same time be moving the torch in the direction. Not everyone can tig weld. I’m currently 19 years old and I’ll finish my associates in welding in about a year. I can’t wait to go out in the field and use my skills . Out of mig, tig , stick , oxyfuel , I love tig because it’s challenging . It was pretty challenging at first but then you get the hang of it. I’m pretty happy with my tig welds.
I’ve a SS Tig welder in the food industry. We make industrial ovens and chillers. I’ve cleared of 80 for the last 7 years and went in the field a few years ago an cleared 115 for that year. Welder generally make there money in overtime. The guys in the aerospace field definitely make more an hour welding high grade aluminum and titanium And can still do it in a shop setting. If I was going to school I would focus on that because anyone can mig, or tig carbon and SS but the higher grade alloys could get you another 10$ an hour. I’ve been doing this 20 years and we are always hiring. As a welder you can get a job in almost any town in this country. The iron workers get more an hour but seem to be laid off a bit more. The steam fitters make a bit more then the iron workers but get laid off also. You will make more money an hour in those unions then a shop job but have to travel more. Same with the boiler makers. There is definitely work out there. Cheers
I have come to see that wherever on go one has to put in the work, in my personal experience I started in a high-productivity shop ( not very good welds), I started at 50 K a year with OT and I was able to become lead and I’m now making 70 K a year. I love being able to do multiple things in a year, from welding to providing welders with consumables to metal.
This was awesome. Great video. I want to be cwi. I’m looking to start school and do industrial welding to gain experience. Undecided on what school I’m going to attend
Pipeline welders make on the low end is 175k and high end for your average pipeline welder is 237k and there has been pipeliners make 300k in 6 months or I’ve herd of Guys making 20k for emergency welding repair on oil and gas pipe
@@thisNthat1 been in the Marine corps about a year and a half now, I’m a motor T mechanic. Rebuild the humvee engines. Specifically welding isn’t a big thing in the fleet so being a mech turned out for the better. It’s cool to see this comment I made before I knew anything haha, appreciate the follow up bro
There is nothing about welding that is inherently unhealthy, regardless of what a number of slackers and wannabes say. If you mind your health, using the proper PPE for the jobs at hand, keep yourself well hydrated, and exercise regularly, you can have a long, healthy and rewarding career as a welder. I'm 57 and speak this from personal experience.
I’m Graduating welding school in June and wanna have a grasp on what route I wanna go in thinking pipe but I would love to be where I can compete for these higher pay
How do I get into the welding industry, I'm 26 years old live in the UK and work full time and looking for a course to work around my current job as I need the income to live and can't afford to just quit my job
You have to hustle be flexible and kill two birds and one stone by getting some on the job experience or sending your money to the side and paying for an independent welding instructor or program to help you accomplish your career goals
Some jobs also will hire and train/pay for your courses as well. Not all but some. Look around and see if any companies in your area are willing to take the chance on you.
@@GatleySkateKrew12 that’s right bro I am too. It’s my 3rd day going to welding school. Going with this school called Advanced Career Institute and I’m just hoping to get a really well paying job at the end where I also love working at
@@youngjesus5992 hey bro any update on how it went or how’s it going i’m looking to start & i’ve been doing research about schools, welding types, careers, & just about everything i could find on welding.
Do you have to be in the military to be a military support welder? Or is there a way to be like contracted where you’re payed by them but not enlisted?
I’m currently in the navy (enlisted) as a welder. He’s right 😂 we don’t get money like them civilians. Out in 2 years, getting my aos in welding technology and putting in hours towards my journey man. I wanted to be a threat as well as totally prepared for life outside the navy! Never stop learning!!!!!!

That's actually awesome. I favor TIG as well. It like it for it's like a work of Art. I try my best to make the welds look sensational.
Also, which TIG jobs specifically do they get the most pay?

Military support welder is a civilian contractor for military. If you’re enlisted in military as welder you won’t make any money.

Anything under 40k isnt worth it honestly. You can get entry level office jobs for that salary.
Having a skill is always better than working in the office any day.The office post person will pay you to do any of their work
