Before seeing the headstock I actually thought it was a Schecter C-7 Deluxe. I like colours on my guitars. Like my custom Warmoth is baby blue, and I refinished my Schecter Omen 6 in matte white with Orange knobs. If you're gonna go super basic, you have to give a wildcard option as well. Like make it salmon coloured or like pastel yellow. Like just do something funky. 😂

And on top of that the T shapes we get are usually signature models with weird design choices (see the Stephen Carpenter pickup placement). Definitely would be nice to see more variety like T shapes, offset bodys, Flying V, and maybe more from PRS.
I Just want more 7 and 8 strings to come with passive pickup routing. Aside from fishmans, active pickups have gone out of style for extended range guitarists. Plus my favorite pickup set (Mark Holcomb alpha/omega) only comes in passive housing.

The identity of jackson is a easy playing compound radius super strat with a unique neck carve railroad tracks for frets, double humbucker, 3 way metal monster! Back in the day they were kinda at the forefront of jumbo frets and if I am not mistaken Grover jackson came up with the compound radius as a standard feature.

Nice review! I personally would prefer something like this over a fancy finish option. Then again, I prefer viewing a guitar as more of a tool to create music. Something like this is better suited for a minimalist and it also serves as a blank canvas for modding and personalization. For Jackson, when it comes to refining their take on the superstrat shape, this model, along with the Misha Mansoor and Chris Broderick models are definitely a step in the right direction.

@@STORMBREAKER_250 I think it's really down to Fender trying too hard to differentiate their brands. You've got the classic in Fender, obviously, then you have Charvel kind of doing the 80s thing, and then Jackson trying to do the modern more trendy metal guitars. There are exceptions in the line ups for sure, but I feel like they're really trying to justify the existence of multiple brands and Jackson sort of getting the short end of the stick at the moment. Sure, they brought back the MIJ line, but they've kind of lost the plot with them imo as the original MiJ guitars (I own a DK2 in Eerie Dess) are beloved because they were extremely well built, but also affordable and they had some cool finishes. Whereas the new line is still well built but pretty pricey and overall pretty bland. You just aren't going to get the same bang for your buck making guitars in Japan these days, so I would have liked to see them instead bring out a mid priced Korean (or Indonesian) line that was specced really well with some cool finishes, basically something to go up against the LTD 1000 series guitars.

I own an older agile model in silverburst I bought randomly 2nd hand thats essentially just a 7 string tele. I think they were called Texans. The only real issue with it is getting upgraded parts for it that still fit its asthetic.

I love Jackson's, I got a DK2 Dinky for my first guitar and would like to have a soloist as my "last", but one of the things it has to have is stainless steels, and it's very hard to see a Jackson with them, which is a god dammed shame, specially with the Wildcard series that they had, gorgeous looking thing.

I have the DK modern ash ht6 in the sandblasted red and black and I love it. I'm going to be in the market for an evertune 7 soon and thank you for this review talking me out of doing this. I didn't like the looks of it but figured if it was like my current DK modern it would be worth it for the lack of looks, but I will probably get the LTD MH1007 Evertune instead.

Me personally I like the look. The sandblasted ones for me look terrible. It's just not a look I'm into. Over all glad to see you review this one. The 6 string has been one I've been interested in as I like the Jackson neck profile.

NGL for a touring musician these things are godsent. Chuck it in the van, drive to the next gig and take it out right on stage without worries. Headstock on this looks too big compared to the body though, odd dimensions. Still, it sounds pretty kickass. Also, never thought I'd hear you play Clapton.

What I hate about guitars nowadays especially at the top-mid to Entry higher range $1000-$1600 is such a bad mix up of premium and lower end parts.
Like Ibanez prestige with locking tuners, Premium woods and craftsmanship etc. but leave more to be desired with things like just average Dimarzio fusion edge pickups and Nickel frets instead of stainless steel at the price you’re paying. I really wanted to feel the premium Japanese craftsmanship but I feel at those prices, you can get so much more.
Or Jackson with Evertune bridge, locking tuners and such but with a plastic nut and Nickel frets. For $1500 dollars. Made in Indonesia no less.
So hard for me to settle for a guitar.
Props to brands like Schecter with lines like their C-1 SLS Elite with things like Hipshot Bridge, Locking Tuners, Steel frets, Neck-Through design, Ernie Ball compensated nut etc. made in Korea all for around $1100ish dollars. And so easy to find used models for less at great condition.
And lesser known brands like Jericho Guitars offering premium specs like those listed around $700-$1000 Blowing other brands out of the water bang for buck wise.
We need more options like these.
    Just wanted to rant. Haha

I bought an ET7 not long ago because I've had an HT7 but wanted the evertune and a non 5k guitar to beat up live.
My only complaint is the look lol I have plans to do something with it eventually, but I honestly don't care that much since I bought it for the features not the looks and to keep the feel of the HT7.
The next one is gonna be a skervessen or Ormsby custom lol

I think the 12”-16” compound radius fretboard is a Jackson/Charvel thing so maybe it’s got that going for it. Maybe with the aesthetic thrills out of the way it’s just a riff machine. Or you can sticker bomb it. Lol

This guitar exists as the perfect studio instrument; it will never go out of tune, is capable of achieving a broad spectrum of tones, and has a huge flat fretboard. It's essentially a midi guitar (but not terrible). Modern Prog is currently a musical field for guitar virtuosos who are simultaneously DAW experts to generate crystal clear music with zero flaws and that is what this instrument is designed for.
This design seems like it lacks charisma because it's effectively a MIDI-Keyboard

I agree that thing needs some color! I feel like Rallye Green or Go-Mango or hell even Plum Crazy would be great. Yes they are all Mopar colors but that guitar reminds me of an old Detroit Muscle Car that hasn't been painted yet or being restored.
Also yes I agree with other comments, Cleans are consistently getting better. Though I'm not sure Clapton ever thought about playing Tears in Heaven on a 7 string. (At least that's what it sounded like you were playing to me)

Jackson is a Rock/Metal brand mostly. I had a DK2 in the 90s and it was a metal machine. The neck was amazing. Sure I had to swap the humbuckers for Seymour But otherwise it was perfect. My dream guitars are a soloist or a Rhods V. My Hannemenn and Spitz influences there.

Not gonna lie, beginning of the year I had 4 Aristides guitars but sold them all since I kinda got bored of them mainly due to tone. That's after years of saving going from similar modern guitars like Schecter KMs/Kiesel/Mayones/etc.
Now I have a Gibson les paul slash, PRS Dustie Waring, and an ESP Horizon and Eclipse and I'm more fond of them. I wish I Kept my Mayones though, that had something cool going on with it too.

This is the best guitar ive ever had, never cared about color or look really, ticked all the boxes for me. Soundwise it is awesome, i cant say that i dont miss alpha&omega i had in ibanez, but ive always been ibanez player, wanted similar feel how it feels in hands, and without all the ibanez’s production minuses like perfect intonation across whole board.
I set this one up in about one hour and i never had need to anything to it anymore, while it has been carried around changed strings etc.
Change strings and no tuning or intonating needed. Like wtf, i needed this years ago. Only thing is here in Norway it was difficult to find a string set tensiom wise that works well on all strings for evertune and the one that worked for drop A is 9.5-64.

I wonder if they sent the blue one, you’d think it was less boring. Some of these old white guy product managers need to roll the dice on evertune a little more, and not use all the safe/boring/cheap colors. I kinda feel like the lack of color options helps keep their cost down and compensates for the cost of the bridge.
