MEET MAX - OUR SHOW COCKER SPANIEL PUPPY! OUR FIRST 2 WEEKS TOGETHER - TIPS AND WHAT WEVE FOUND

Hey gals!!
Wow that was a long break! But it was so needed to reset and recharge! Ive also been keeping busy in my time off with our gorgeous new addition to the family, Mr Max, Maxamilliam, Maximus, Maxwell, Mad Max haha
Puppy tips and bits I've found useful so far:
Pets at home have an app where your first 2 shops ou get 10% off total amount, and that is so helpful when you need so many things to make your fur baby feel loved and comfortable.

Crate training videos we have found helpful:

Personally, we have found it's not best to just let them cry in the crate, we get up and take him straight outside where he always has needed to go toilet. Dogs instincts arent to be alone, they like to be in a pack so it takes some adjusting so be kind at the start and ween them off and create independence we have found is working well.
Also every time he has got in his crate on his own for the first week we have given him praise and some roast fresh chicken so he knows it's a good happy place to be and would never ever put him in there as punishment.
We also found the above video helpful for making Max work for his food and tiring him out throughout the day with tasks he has to use his mind for, such as sit, stay, lead training and come commands every day as part of his routine, since the 3rd way we had him here and he's such a little pro now!
Also potty training we took him out every 30-40 mins the first week and use words like YES and clapping so he knows its good when he starts to go outside. He now goes to the door to let us know when he needs to go and hateeees when its raining so still have to stand outside with him when its wet or he will try and pretend to do something so he can go back inside haha.
Im so excited to share our Max journey with you guys! and if you cant already tell I'm soooo happy right now, so i appreciate so much you guys understanding about my little break to have some family time xxx

Tip: don't use puppy pads at all! Regularly let him out and treats everytime he goes outdoors!
