Been looking forward to this. Interesting watch,
Our boy is the same age as mac, and weve obviously given him to much freedom in the garden. Is it to late to restict him a bit.

Please could i have your view on tail docking for cockers. It would appear that Mac is docked. Thank you

Both Cocker and springs by nature have a very vivid tail action and in the job that they're meant to do they're very prone to splitting and damaging the end of the tail. This can then lead to infections and then serious issues. It doesn't happen in all cases but to avoid this they would be docked normally at three days old along with due claws be removed as other injuries can also be caused

Hi there. We have an 11 weeks old English Cocker Spaniël. She’s not a working cocker. Can we still do some more serious training? I want to train her too some degree but only see training videos for working cockers. How similar are they?

I do work with some show, Cockers sometimes they can still have a strong retrieving drive. I do work with someone in France who has a nice working Cocker. They just tend to do things a little slower that's all.

Can you give some insight on how to teach sit to flush? I am trying to get my cocker pup ready for rabbits but fear him getting shot if he chases after the flush

    Hello, question here.
My 10 week old cocker goes after the retrieve but doesn’t want me to take it from him after he comes back to me. When I take it out of his mouth he goes after my hands and clothes.
How do you deal with this or puppy biting in general?
Thanks for the videos they are very useful!

Hi Chris. My 16 week cocker pup is reliable out and back, but he nearly always plays with the retrieve and rolls around next to me or tries to play 'tug' - he doesn't want to come up on my lap. He doesn't really have any toys, just a rubber lump for teething, but he definitely picked up a few bad habits at the breeders and I got him at 10 weeks so playing catch up to a degree. Any tips for beginning to encourage him to better delivery? Your videos and puppy pack have been a massive help, thanks

It's really hard without seeing your individual situation but the main thing is having a limited space and trying to make the decision as to when he needs to take the retrieve everyone situation is slightly different and that's the problem with making videos is that I can only show how I'm going about dealing with my individual dog dog

Hey Chris, Mac is gorgeous. I'm looking to get a black show cocker myself. Hoping to use your training material to training the pup where he/she can be a good house pet.
With your experience would you recommend a male or female pup for a first time dog owner who is looking for an affectionate easily trainable partner in crime. I'm just looking for some guidance. Cheers 🙏

Dogs are like humans you can get happy ones sad ones positive negative drive no drive in dogs and bitches personally I prefer dogs but it really doesn't matter. It's about choosing the right pup really☺️
