I can see at least 5 people in this thread that has never studied music theory with any great interest, if at all. For those of us that have, even just 1 class is all it would take to actually understand the structural rearrangement being used as a tool to mold and shape a song's tonal theme and signature from intro to verse, to bridge to chorus (and they even rearrange that to create a genre tonal shift in the same chord progression based on where they are in that songs structure). It's all extremely clever, very high level and it's actually a feature, not a bug that it can be overlooked. I often giggle when people call Sleep Token a metal band. That was never the point if you look at how each song from the first album to now were constructed. They've the most listenable experimental band, probably ever. Completely free from genre as a box to be put in to classify them or the music that they write. The whole point is to write songs that can use whatever kind of music they want, whenever it suits the piece of music they are working on. Which makes a ton of sense for how they release music. Each song it more like a project or album in and of itself. But put together like an orchestration. Music schools will be putting them in textbooks in 5 years or less. So you'll have to forgive her for deep diving into it. You guys don't know music theory or advanced songwriting. Which is fine, it's only for musicians anyways. So not slamming you guys for it, just saying you'll have to forgive her a little bit for her need to talk through what she was just exposed to. Nobody writes songs and does to song structure like that. So when you hear it for the first time, and you know "the rules" of music theory. It all makes sense and then punches you in the face with the realization that you might have been thinking way too small with your songwriting. There's so much you can do with those rules and Vessel and II have put together examples of a fundamentally different approach to thinking about songwriting in new meaningful ways.

If you wish to see what Vessel looks like, at least what his on stage appearance is like, he appears in 3 videos: Bloodsport (From The Room Below), Alkaline, & The Love You Want. The first one of those 3 is probably the best one to get an idea of what a live performance is like. It consists of just Vessel singing and playing the piano. Warning it is a very emotional performance! Stay safe 🤘 ✌️
Ambient growling? why not. Have you heard Dead Can Dance? within the realms of a dying sun is a good album. Lisa Gerrard has a great vocal style, summoning the muse is pretty good.

I believe your mic is very loud compared to the song in the background, to the point that I almost cannot recognize the part of the song where you are at while you're speaking. :)

His vocals on the recordings are VERY electronic. Listen to the vocals separated and you'll hear it. On stage he sounds VERY different, you don't get the same "ambience" from his voice.
Great reaction. For the next maybe you can lower your mic and perhaps choose the parts when you want to make the reactions. Don't forget to rewind a bit 5-10 seconds before you start again. Music kinda low as well. Sorry and thanks a lot for Sleep Token reactions. Worship!
It's amazing what they do with the last segment of the song. Vessel did say he was "about to bite back in anger" He's tried everything and it didn't work. He lets his anger out (the song drops the hardest) saying he has "traveled far beyond the path of reason" and begs/demands to be taken back to eden. These guys ARE storytellers.
If you're here to listen to the music and not the reaction, then this is not the plave for you, and that goes for any reaction where your thought is this exact comment. If you wanna hear the music better, go listen to it yourself, which you should always do anyway before watching reactions.
