I wish that they were more enthusiastic about playing their earlier material. I realize that 20 years have passed since "Call the Doctor" was released and their sound and instrumental abilities have evolved over time, but this just sounds a bit subdued and obligatory instead of incendiary. I also appreciate Corin changing the lyrics about Thurston Moore to express solidarity for Kim Gordon in the aftermath of his infidelity and their separation, it is a subtle criticism of how an underground icon becomes just another mid-life crisis hypocrite.
+Orlando Pockets You are a troll child raging against your own insignificance and I am using language to leave a rapidly eroding trace we are both combating a culture of anonymity across a generation gap. For you words and death threats have no meaning because you will never actually see a visible reaction from another person, you are just howling into a virtual void. For me language is a shared reality, a way of articulating something and finding a connection and a community. Since, you have written nothing about music, nothing defending Sleater-Kinney or Sonic Youth against a perceived attack when in reality they are two of my favorite bands I assume your immediately hatred of what I have written, and as an extension a person you know nothing about has more to do with shaming me for the words I use. Well “these words are all I have, these words are who I am” -Sleater-Kinney (Anonymous)
Sure they read it Mr Troll. You think people that +1 a comment just blindly click it? It's a shame, I've never found someone so stupid posting on an S-K video. Generally they attract a high class of viewer, so please get away from their videos. You're not the kind of person we want here. No. You will not get the last word here. Move on. Zip it!
Michael Beblowski, this was recorded in ‘96 and the show was done in 2015? Not sure but I saw them every time they hit NYC from ‘97 @ Central Park to the old Studio 54 when they did The Woods tour. No one can maintain the freneticism of Not What You Want from Dig Me Out....I’m now 64 and still love the music but only for so long. God is a Number starts slow but then they are freakin’ out....it’s like trying to compare the Stones in ‘69 to 2016/17. And those guys, well, we’re not sure what keeps them going.
Had the pleasure of seeing them live and wasn't as much of problem at the gig I saw, but Corin's voice really needs a more powerful guitar behind it. They balance it right on their records but live it does seem to be an issue. Half the time here it doesn't even sound like there are two guitars playing, never mind two guitars that are also making up the basslines too.
Because "Austin City Limits" even had this band on is Amasing! They were Desperate! But this a good band though, but not for ACL, and their hick coulture! What was this band thinking? Hicks do not like this!
Love drumer with her bad ass skills😁.
Janet Weiss.....
Maybe the world's best rock drummer the past decade.
Janet weiis is the absolue late backbone for sure
it's like punk new wave oldies sweet to me.
//SCREAMS LOUDLY
WOOOOOOAHHHH....WOOOOOOAHHHHHH...WOOOOOOAHHHH

I love the shot of Carrie’s feet at 0:44.

Orlando Pockets your criticism is unintelligible and a vague personal attack devoid of insight.

They're from Portland, where young people go to retire.
Olympia, WA not Portland.
Yup I always used to pass the sleater-kinney exit
Yoko Ono is there, but I can't see her
This song isn't as good live. Try and find the album version, it's waaaay better.
I Love Janet!!!!! I wanna make Floppy Floppy with her.
