MAKING OVER AN ENTRYWAY ON A BUDGET | Part 2: Thrift Flips, Reupholstering, & Picking Paint Colors

It's Part 2 of the Entryway Makeover at Ed's house as we attempt to transform his dated space into his current style of Light Academia, Mid-Century Modern, Japandi. In today's episode, we take a trip to several Habitat for Humanity ReStores in the Hudson Valley to look for secondhand items that we can thrift and repurpose including a vintage light fixture, kitchen cabinets, and an ikea Hemnes shoe cabinet.
We thrift an antique stool at the White Elephant Sale in Connecticut and go fabric shopping at Mood Fabrics in NYC. We compare, contrast, and thoroughly review 3 rugs: the Amber Lewis x Loloi Morgan Denim/Multi Rug, Loloi II Adrian Collection Rug, and Lauren Liess x Rugs USA Rosewood.
We start painting the space, do a little DIY on the coat hooks, and reupholster the stool.

I know what you mean about painting original wood. I wouldn't normally paint the wood, but the door is going to be replaced soon-ish, so we figured we'd have some fun with color.
