Jayz - the nvidia contorl panel if you scroll down on the left where it shows you resolutions under (Ultra HD, HD SD) if you scroll down past those options you then get a sub header called "PC" with more resolutions (native plus all the other standard options) and you can set all those settings to what the monitor/pc will report. I agree its best to ignore the Ultra HD,HD.SD option. But it means you can still use the nvidia control panel and make it easier for yourself

Jay, I have been using the a Viewsonic XG2760 for over a year. Though I would agree the internal speakers are not good and should only be used as a last resort, you should hear them. The issue you had likely comes from the fact that Viewsonic has a separate volume control built in that must be turned up also at set-up.
The reason it dosent show in nvidia is because you need to scroll down from the Ultra hd settings to the regular 1920 1080 then it gives you the higher options

Just bought the 27in version of this monitor for my GF based on this review. She just built her first PC ever! Thanks Jay
not that its bad for everyone but 27" stretches out the 1080p res' pixels out to the point that you can see individual pixels a lot clearer. It's horrible for shooters where you need to take advantage of draw distance for spotting enemies(every battle royale basically)and sometimes for taking in the amazing views of games like say a modded out skyrim. 27" is 1440p territory imo.

the option for higher refresh rate is in nvidia control panel, but you have to scroll down, in resolution, to where it says PC... not Ultra HSD, HD, SD

Just picked one up myself and I have to say I'm impressed. I was worried I'd regret not saving for the 1440p model, but honestly at this size I don't think ir matters a lot. Having the better refresh rate is fantastic, while I bought it for games its also way easier to read text on a word processor or browser which I wouldn't have expected. Getting to think we have hit the sweet spot for single monitor size.

Although I've been researching the topic for months and I've probably read at least 30 articles across every subject of building a pc and current parts, I still lack the experience of actually doing it. This is the first time in my life I have some money to spend on it. I'm not the enthusiast type (as much as I'd love a custom water-cooled and overclocked monster rig), just want a computer that runs games in 1440p at max settings and capable of workstation tasks like 3D design programs and video editing without issues I can't reasonably overcome. I'm aiming for an upper level amd 5000 series cpu, 32gb ram, 3070 or 3080 gpu (considering amd alternatives but it seems like a gamble with their software), and a motherboard that will age well and leave options open for overclocking. Seems fairly achievable but it's hard to say without asking a pro directly.

I've been using View Sonic monitors since my 19in CRT back in 1998, they look great and they are rock solid reliable. Basically there is no such thing as a cheap View Sonic. They may cost more but are never cheap! This new 144mhz model blows my VX2778 away! It's unbelievable how far they have come in just a year! BTW_ Jay, it's 32 degrees here, which is 10 degrees warmer then it was yesterday, but we don't mind, it's a dry cold.
Hey Jay, could you do low cost audio setups for computers?
If you're not super picky, Logitech speakers.
You can tell this time is working hard AF when you hear the sound quality on the videos getting so much echo, and Jay not using his lavalier mic, as well as him sounding a bit muffled. This means Phil has had to make a lot of audio editing on it.
Great work guys! I know what you're going through, but loving every single day of the Techmas!
Wow who knew that weird lighter spot on my display during loading screens was actually a real thing
This looks like an excellent value
Well.. not anymore. Thanks to Jay’s review they’re all sold out everywhere and Amazon jacked up the price for them anyway
I want a wrap around display far beyond my actual sight hanging from the ceiling and a lean back chair. Just like our favorite character from grandmas boy.
I just want 8 or 9 mismatched monitors on octopus like arms and cables everywhere so i can hack the matrix.
im am proud that i was able to overclock my 60hertz Panel to 80hertz :D
80 hz is MUCH better than 60
Good job
bro same im just hoping jumping from 80 to 144 hz is similar in the difference
I overclocked my toaster
How do you do this and which monitors can do this?
@@TayoEXE i have a good old gtx960 so i have nvidia controlpanel. There i can select my resolution and can create custom resolutions while creating a custom resolution you can up the refreshrate. Do this 1hertz at a time and press test before saving if you get a blackscrenn while the custom resolution is tested you have hit the limit. Most Panels can give you around a 10% increase. Some give you none and sometimes you get lucky like i did with mine.
ah yes, my wallet has been saved
My main rig is in need of new monitors, but for testing and throwing in the back of the car, I still stand by my old Dell Genesis monitor. It's heavy, only 1280x1024, and has a dead pixel now, but, it has VGA and DVI which means I can usually hook it up to anything and it just works. I think I have only ever seen one die from old age.
You always are concerned about background noise , we can never hear it lmao
i have an old industrial fan in my room and its barely audible with my crappy headphones that costs less than 20$
i have an old industrial fan in my room and its barely audible with my crappy headphones that costs less than 20$o
I could hear it. Was kinda horrible lol
I'd rather hear the background noise than have the youtuber waste 10 seconds apologizing for it
6:18 "Is that how you spell it" big BRUH moment right there XD
Ive never owned a new monitor. have a 3 monitor setup atm. I LOVE you guys who have to have the newest best thing, pay ridiculous money for it then sell it at 10% a year from now :D
ahahaha, matching panels. hell no. when you get a new panel you shift the old to the side, until they wont fit.
or you make them fit
1 view ... 6 comments ... And I can't see a single one ...
also in nvidia there are 2 sections for the resolution ... the top one is the bad one... going to the bottom one (scrolling down) allows to select a different 1920x1080 mode that also allows the 144Hz
Sort by new 😉
I picked up the Lenovo G25-10 for $130 on sale and have been happy with it. It is TN, but also works with G-sync.
Viewsonic monitors are f'ing A! Love 'em, using one right now.
F’ing A! finally someone using f’ing A correctly.
I dont like their logo. I know, I'm picky. Asus looks sicker tho.
I have a VX700 last me a good 10 years. AND I used to carry it to LAN parties and all... this was when LCD first came out and I used to carry a Samsung CRT with all the other poor gamers, ha
Also, they have been a top brand for stock traders for almost 20 years now. I recommend you get a VX model, or their higher end, as the cheap ones are meh VA (value) ones are no bueno usually
Ehh, every manufacturer has their good and bad models. I used a VX2458-c-mhd in the past, and that had a lot of issues.
Jay... I really hope that the next monitor that you review, you have your talking piece at the end of this video playing on the monitor at the talking piece of your next video.
The ViewSonic XG2405 seems to be a good monitor if you want accurate colors for photo editing, value ergonomics and like to play fast games. Note that the 1ms mode works by flickering the back-light on and off, thereby reducing brightness to
What the heck I saw this monitor for $399!
Check PC Part Picker. It will show you the price history for multiple retailers.
Just for grins I looked at the price history of the 5700xt on amazon and since the new generation of AMD cam out the price went up $200.
Jay: turning on the heater because its 60
Me: thank god my 3 heaters reached 60
and it's little brother/sister my 43" is great too, and has the added benefit of not needing a forklift to put it on the desk, and by the way the 55" has fantastic sound !
these are on amazon for 300 +. It's like they saw your vid lol.
currently $399.99 USD as of my post. That's over $800 after tax to replace the 2 24in 1080p 60hz panels currently on the desk of my main rig. NOPE!!
@@CommodoreFan64 Dang, the Elite XG270 is $400.
Only buy from amazon. This happens with video cards, look up an RTX nvidia card and they are all 800 plus. Those are all 3rd party resellers, NOT amazon.
omg I also went to go look after I heard Jay say the price. They're hella expensive now!
Still $180 at B&H as Jay mentioned.
Back ordered til Jan 21 though.

11:26 Jay, how don't you understand? That's a cinematic motion blur without performance hit!
For some reason, if you scroll down the resolutions in NVIDIA control panel, it will show a second list of resolutions that go up to the actual max refresh rate of your monitor.
09:50 I had a solid 1hz gain after watching this. went from 59 to 60. Shit feels amazing!
Jay: use display port instead of old hdmi
Me: cries in vga
VGA? Damn that's old.
@@Sinister80s It is. My secondary is VGA, has terrible interference distortion from the cable and connectors getting worn out over the years. But still works \o/
