    Great video, finally got my tank up and running and I’m in the cycling phase of the setup!

    Thanks for the video. Most "beginner coral" videos/lists I see are full of softies. I like the different types of SPS you had, I had no idea some of those were so resistant

      vikinglord13 I probably do a soft top 10 down the road but I thought it would be good to do a beginner reef tank video. Thanks for watching!

      Thank you so much for saying that. I just picked up a bunch of these corals at MACNA last weekend. Very happy with them and they look great. Happy reefing.

    If you want more of a movement coral check out torches and frog spawn, not difficult to care for

    Just getting into reef keeping, and this vid was helpful and a bit refreshing. There's a lot of beginner coral count vids, it's cool to see variation and just 10 soft corals everybody names.

    Do you think the hammer coral is a good beginner coral? I have just set up my first salt water fish tank and would love to get one as my first coral in a few months because of how cool it looks.

    I am a very good planted tank aquarist I have spent years learning the hobby I have just bought a new 63 gallon that I would like to start for salt water but I have no idea what sps or lps corals are so I have watched your videos to help me out with selecting fish and corals it will be some time before I can even get fish I still have to get substrate salt and rock for my aquarium which will be in the next two weeks and then cycling the aquarium properly so I have a lot of time. I am going to start out slow very slow any advice would be great for my tank size and what maybe to do for best success for something this size.

    Hey This Might Be A Dumb question but I'm just starting out. With All These Corals You Suggested would you have to dose with any of them or will weekly water changes be ok. I want to get all 10 of them

    I have a question, i have yet to buy a coral and am in the market. The only concern i have that is holding me back from purchase is what to do with the coral? Do i remove it from the frag plug or rock it comes with? will that damage the coral, how delicate are they?

    • @MadHattersReef
      @MadHattersReef  7 лет назад +3

      +Donovan Del depends on the coral. I got a shipment in on Friday and I had two corals on plugs. With one it was encrusted on the plug so I just simply cut the peg of the plug off. The other I completely removed the plug but the coral had not been on the plug very long.
      In time most corals will completely cover the plug so it depends if you want to look at them until then.
      Thanks for watching.

    No luck with zoas in my house tank , don’t know why they stay closed and they all die little by little

    • @MadHattersReef
      @MadHattersReef  6 лет назад +1

      +CUBAN REEFER you my need to take them out and dip them. You could have a pest eating them.

    • @jonathanreich9694
      @jonathanreich9694 4 года назад

      Yep, there is a pest called the zoanthid eating spider which lays eggs in the zoa and when they hatch it's like the face hugger from the original alien movie.
