Scifi 20th century isnt that wild of a concept, because its meant to mix modern or futuristic aspect with the themes and aesthetics of a specific or multiple 20th century themes. Those usually also draw inspiration from movies, cartoons or other midia of the time that imagined futuristic or scifi stuff based on their oen culture at the time. I’m convinced the creators only released a game trailer showing the concept of KandyLand, just because of the backlash against the NFT nonsense. Overall, I am hoping we’ll get some news about it, but given its been a year and a half with no updates, and the official discord hasn’t said anything about it, it wouldn’t be a surprise if it was all a lie, or the devs are working on how to make a game, which is taking longer then they thought? 🤔🤷 Overall, KandyLand is a neat idea, it was just poorly handled.
16:43 the reason why that one suzy snacktime animation seemed a bit off (and also a few others here and there) seems to be because its not really animated, but actually motion captured. That infact seems to be something they use a lot and they mix with animating on top of it or just animating from zero. However that one "teaser" was poorly made with little to no added animation or cleanup (since motion capture isn't perfect and will always give a janky result that an animator has to correct)
Man, what sucks is that Goldenlane Studios are very known for their Cinema-type quality when it comes to animations, When they announced that they are not going to work on thier own FNAF series anymore, I was sad becuase I liked the story they told. AND YES, I WAS one of those people that saw the short episodes, and I was hyped about it. but then when it came to the NFTs, I got disinterested, BUT when they made a game trailer, I got interested again, but when there were no updates, I got disinterested.....AGAIN, BUT when they made a show trailer, I got interested again. ONLY TO GET UNINTERESTED AGAIN ALL BECAUSE OF LACK OF UPDATES! It just seems that they don't really know what to do with thier own creation at all, They are literally CONFUSED! I really hope that they ACTUALLY made some progress on thier projects because.............................then....................all of that was for nothing...
I mean... they do know what to do, though. They want to keep bait-and-switching so that they can keep getting a shitload of money without not having to actually commit their finance to do anything expensive. And it's working, because, as you proved yourself (hope I'm not sounding offensive, though, sorry if that's the impression I'm giving), people do keep falling for it again and again.
It was a bit sketchy to begin with... i mean, for an original project, its LITERALLY just candy-themed sister location (they even copied the faceplates, have they no shame?), and secondly, from what i remember nothing from the "game" was even shown, it mostly just showed cinematics, thirdly, their first intention was MONEY, they went INSTANTLY to selling NFTs, and remember, this was all before the 3rd episode, before the game was announced, and before they had even gotten any good rep, it's the same thing that garten of banban did (but garten of banban didnt sell nfts, so good for them), but nobody cared because kandyland looks decent in conclusion, kandyland is awful 😊
Other than the faceplanta and being a story about murderous entertainment robots, is it really a ripoff? I mean obviously inspired but before the NFTs it did sound like it was gonna have its own thing, even the setting seems like it could be for a larger scale game like an exploration horror game or something since its a whole ass theme park. Was sister location actually a theme park? Felt like just a warehouse/workshop, closest to this i think would be security breach i feel but even then.
@@unkindled6410 Kandyland sounds a lot like what secret of the mimic Will be but going back a bit sounds more like a Sister location x Poppy playtime child with animatronics and fábric Btw ,Sister location was mostly a workshop yes an underground one
@@unkindled6410 You're surely assuming a lot from what were just cinematics... Yes, the setting of the story is a theme park. This doesn't automatically mean that it would have been an "exploration horror": it just means that they decided to use a setting that would look good in cinematics, and would be removed far enough from FNAF to avoid to look like a "hilariously-inimaginative rip-off" (as opposed to "just a rip-off, but it has some novelty"). Remember, they weren't even planning to make a game by that point. And even if they were, a "different setting" doesn't make it automatically "its own thing". Oh, and, about that... you seem to have missed that it has _always_ been about NFTs. The Twitter following had been informed about this since the very beginning. Only the YT audience ignored this aspect, so it was caught by surprise when it found out about the truth.
@@drakegrandx5914 about the NFT parts, well that sure is a shame if this was always just an NFT farm BS. Now about the rest... How do i word it? I know that given all our context these guys were probably riping off FNAF considering how shameless NFTs and the companies mentioned are, but i was trying to make a case about to what extent you could be considered not a rip off and just the same theme and obviously inspired when making something like that.
Scott Cawthon almost learned the hard way about how the internet felt about NFTs by pulling out of a deal with a company that made them after the fandom told him about the damage they do to the environment I’m surprised that these guys didn’t get the hint when making this If Kandyland ends up abandoned, then people could use those characters and the concept to good use in a real game
13:56 - Can we please mention and credit Dave Steele for his voice work there? I think he's not getting enough praise for the impact of his role. Even Dawko STILL hasn't interviewed him of all the important FNAF VAs, I am starting to wonder if he really exists(maybe he turned down any interview requests, but I never heard if he had been approached either)😅

@@liyōnonainoroi Technically that series already shot itself in the foot when Sakurai basically deleted the story mode from 4 and Ultimate because he... 'didn't want the cutscenes to be leaked and reacted to'
Despite being derivative, the designs and animation for Kandyland are amazing. If they just focused on a series or a game, dropped the NFT aspect, and worked from there, they could make this into something super successful. Glitch Studios has shown that indy projects can turn into gold mines, and the very game this is taking "inspiration" from created a whole genre of horror games off of neat looking characters. It's a shame that it's probably not gonna go anywhere, and it just seems like wasted potential.
The funny thing is that before I looked into Kandyland, I saw more people simping for Kandy's bussy. I only saw Kandy and the bird. I didn't even know that there was a girl.
The really sad thing is that, if this was a game or a full series, it probably would've made tons and tons of money because the animation is really good; I've seen Disney movies that look as good as what Kandyland's got. It's a shame they're using this amazing animation for a crypto scam.
I first came across Kandland on YT shorts, it was a snippet of Suzy's trailer w/ that dum dum dum song playing & I instantly fell in love w/ the candy clown vibe (although I did raise a beow at how close she looked to Circus Baby, but besides that, she still looked great/cute) & TBH, I was shyped for this supposed game or internet series! Then my excitement plummeted into hatred when I found it was all a front for NFTs. That sucks majorly & haven't kept up since, glad to know I was right to distance myself from this crypto scam trash.
When you combine a fake Five Nights at Freddy's game, NFT, Crypto, Thirst traps and brain-rot shorts, you get Kandyland, one of the most hated FNAF rip-offs ever released on the internet. Today we're going over the full timeline to identify the rise and fall of Kandyland, from false promises to crypto scams. If you enjoy the video, please drop a like and subscribe! As someone who loved Golden Lane studio back in the day, I can say the reason I stopped watching him is he became more and more inconsistent over time. He'd start on a series... and then stop shortly after he started with long periods of time between episodes. You'll notice one of his series, he started to cut corners instead of making a full episode, he would do "parts" of entire episodes (Like Episode 4.1 and 4.2) before dropping it all together. Golden Lane Studio feels like a real life Finbarr Calamitous from Jimmy Neutron. "The guy who couldn't finish anything". So seeing a 1 minute, 26 second clip where at most Tooki just does a trick and walks off a stage... with no other staff around since he's just... ya know, an animatronic... and it cuts off before anything interesting happens feels very much up Golden Lane's... alley.
Suzy is literally Just a gal. Literally. I swear these people got it bad, and not even in a creative way! Forever obsessed with how men's "hear me out" is just Woman, while women's "hear me out" is The Most Horrifying Monstrous Creature To Exist. Not always, but damn is this a pattern I've seen. Anyway i like Kandy's design most, but only because his face reminds me of Springbonnie. That's literally it lol.
Quite literally. I noticed it too. The hear me outs normally would be grotesque things that arent human but also arent animal. Essentially like aliens from star trek for example or like cthulu bro
I think its because IRL women today are starting to stray further and further from that and being too hipster and progressive meanwhile this also leads to their "hear me out" being even more unhinged. Could be my own bias and i could even be acting a little sexist here which is not my intention but still, i do like myself some pretty and sweet lady-like girls.
@@unkindled6410 Nah I think its just that men r attracted mostly to the same type of women but women don't care about looks as much as vibes and character, so the 'hear me outs' are able to be the most fugly creatures imaginable as long as there are salvageable traits to be found.
It's super creepy too. Suzie looks cute and speaks in a childlike manner, yet she's "not so innocent"? It's giving Lolita vibes, the movies, not the book.
I dont like kandy land :( I personally love Susie she seems like a huge Circus baby rip off but like- she was still cute :’)… AND THERES SUPOSE BE A GAME AND IDK IF THEY EVEN MAKING IT STILL OR WHAT BUT ITS GONNA SUCK IS ALL I KNOW😭
It's so sad how many projects got ruined by people who were guillible enough to fall for the obvious NFT Scam. Square Enix sold off Tomb Raider and Deus Ex for this shit
I really wonder why people who're obviously so skilled to make such stunning teasers somehow decide to waste their talent in an obvious dead end like this NFT-Nonsense. I'm really curious, if they can still make the game work on its own or if the NFT-stuff destroys yet another ambitious project.
I sometimes think "why don't AAA video game devs make women pretty or attractive anymore? people would be all over it." But then when they lean too much into those cute/attractive female characters, it can get very insufferable real quick. I even thought about doing this kind of thing for my own projects, but then I'd make a deal with the devil. Seriosuly though, this stuff looks downright cinematic. It deserved a better direction.
it is kinda a shame that the quality of the models they got their putrid hands on was so top notch tho if im gonna be honest. my fave is the bird. id really enjoy the look of the vids they made if it werent for the obvious motion capture they used instead of real animation. in general tho, we dont need a 20th fnaf fan game. and of course because its focused on nfts, i am all for it to watch them get torched to death
This is really sad. When I first saw the firmware corruption short film I saw a lot of potential and I really thought that it would make a great game (and/or series), but it's just another mascot horror ripoff, an embarrassment. If devs and animators really enjoyed their work, they would try to make something enjoyable, not milk it for profit.
So much talent went into this scam, which is honestly Kinda depressing. Like, 100% of NFT scam projects are so utterly lazy, but this one has so, so much effort put into it, with a whole world hinted at and the beginnings of a story forming, and SUCH unbelievably high quality models and animations. It's really depressing actually.
When I first saw the original videos of the characters, I became so obsessed with the aesthetic and the atmosphere of it. It’s so sad they’ll probably never actually make a game out of this, it would’ve been my favourite :(
The real story about is that they where trying to sell nfts to get want they need to make the game but they never made the money to make the game. So it became a failure and everyone started calling them a scam. We all got was the cut scenes of the game only with trailer of the game. They used all the money on the cut scenes of character voices. They only had half a demo with all the money gone and so little to show for it. You can't refund what already spent. It sad how they try to use nfts to get more money to make the game.
this had such potential. the animation is one of the most beautifull things i've seen in the industry and looks like a hyper realistic video game, and yet an animation.
They had responded to the backlash by saying it’s the only way they could fund the animators and stuff…but there’s things like patreon that’s been around for years…
They're trying to cover their asses in case they can pull through and produce a game\show and try to salvage what's left of their fan base, so they're spouting lies. They think they'll be forgiven if they say they "sold NFTs to help pay their animators 😢" because people will be like, "oh, they were paying their animators 😢 so altruistic, here, take our money!"
I remember seeing this come out around the time NFTs were going crazy, and being disappointed cause the designs were there, and it wasn’t like some lazy Bored Ape redesign. There was actual quality in it. It’s a shame it was an NFT
I can’t lie, the character designs are very cool looking. I like all of the colors and how shiny they look (I’d clearly be a victim of these animatronics💀) And Suzy’s design is Fr super cute😭
I know this might sound silly, but I always get a bit disappointed when I see what I think of as really neat animatronic designs, but it turns out they're linked to a garbage project or a scam so they have gone to waste.
I was kinda hyped for this cause this was around the time Fnaf Sister Location was released and the idea of face plated animatronics wasnt openly used by every fangame creator (most of them kept with the 'suit' animatronic look) So having a fangane that duplicated the Sister location look was a fresh take. Kinda sucks they decides to use NFTs for their funding. Like from what i heard they decided NFTs was the best route for funding instead of making a kickstarter or heck a Patreon. Supposedly they were planning to make it inti an actual game since they released a "game trailer" a few years back but nothing new came out of it outside of the numerous thirst traps
Ngl, If Kandyland was made by say, Glitch Studios for example, the Murder Drones guys, it would definetly be a treat to watch, the robots designs were great and actually had good potential for some story with the candy theme
I knew something was wrong about Kandyland other than just NFTs there was just nothing to show, no gameplay images, no account that actually showed gameplay clips or progress, it was squandered potential.

My favorite is when all I have to do is repeat someone's words back to them to highlight why and how they are wrong. You aren't very convincing either pal
Overall, KandyLand is a neat idea, it was just poorly handled.
I agree with this comment.
Logan what you doing here with out even 1 comment
When the mascot horror focuses more on the mascot more than the horror
That is a very good way of putting it.
This is the true mascot horror because they're using their mascots to bait people into shelling out for NFTs
Being a former fan of theirs, it's so sad to see a genuinly talented team turn into an unrecognizable scam machine.
same i havent watched their videos but i did see they milked suzie i thought it was lowkey gonna be good
I remember watching them all the way back when they did the reaper animatronics 😢
Ahhh. I see!
I see it haha, they have a MASSIVE budget and for what
Man, what sucks is that Goldenlane Studios are very known for their Cinema-type quality when it comes to animations, When they announced that they are not going to work on thier own FNAF series anymore, I was sad becuase I liked the story they told.
Yeah, as much as I doubt they'll do anything with the project, I kinda hope to be proven wrong.
They really went Downhill ever since Kandylands release
I mean... they do know what to do, though. They want to keep bait-and-switching so that they can keep getting a shitload of money without not having to actually commit their finance to do anything expensive. And it's working, because, as you proved yourself (hope I'm not sounding offensive, though, sorry if that's the impression I'm giving), people do keep falling for it again and again.
nah bro big L on them shit's milked the fuck oout its dead already
It’s such a shame, I love Kandy’s design and the others looked really awesome as well. Still bummed that this is practically a scam factory.
Major bummer.
It was a bit sketchy to begin with... i mean, for an original project, its LITERALLY just candy-themed sister location (they even copied the faceplates, have they no shame?), and secondly, from what i remember nothing from the "game" was even shown, it mostly just showed cinematics, thirdly, their first intention was MONEY, they went INSTANTLY to selling NFTs, and remember, this was all before the 3rd episode, before the game was announced, and before they had even gotten any good rep, it's the same thing that garten of banban did (but garten of banban didnt sell nfts, so good for them), but nobody cared because kandyland looks decent
in conclusion, kandyland is awful 😊
Well said, good sir!
@@unkindled6410 Kandyland sounds a lot like what secret of the mimic Will be but going back a bit sounds more like a Sister location x Poppy playtime child with animatronics and fábric
Btw ,Sister location was mostly a workshop yes an underground one
Scott Cawthon almost learned the hard way about how the internet felt about NFTs by pulling out of a deal with a company that made them after the fandom told him about the damage they do to the environment
I’m surprised that these guys didn’t get the hint when making this
If Kandyland ends up abandoned, then people could use those characters and the concept to good use in a real game
Let's hope so
13:56 - Can we please mention and credit Dave Steele for his voice work there? I think he's not getting enough praise for the impact of his role. Even Dawko STILL hasn't interviewed him of all the important FNAF VAs, I am starting to wonder if he really exists(maybe he turned down any interview requests, but I never heard if he had been approached either)😅
He is an underrated star in FNAF! I'm surprised he hasn't been interviewed...

All they needed to do was commit to SOMETHING, and people would have been happy.

Hmm, that's not a bad description.
So seeing a 1 minute, 26 second clip where at most Tooki just does a trick and walks off a stage... with no other staff around since he's just... ya know, an animatronic... and it cuts off before anything interesting happens feels very much up Golden Lane's... alley.
