I agree, when it came out, I was 17.. so I could finally see horror at the theater. So I saw this 5 times and it's embedded as one of the reasons I love horror so much. Plus I live 2 miles from where Chief Woodenhead was filmed and 20 miles from the lake.
Honestly Creepshow 2 was amazing. It was easily in my top 5 horror movies growing up in the 1980’s. My bros and I still quote it. “Thanks for the ride lady, thanks for the ride!”
It's just creepy and scary as hell. Everything about that story is pure nigthmare fuel! Imagine getting stuck on the water with a mysterious substance that can melt the flesh from your bones! God! I can hear Paul Satterfield's bones cracking now as the tar creature pulled him through the raft and what about when Randy lays Laverne on the raft and starts molesting her only for her to wake up with the creature covering the right side of her face! Her screams and cries still get to me even now.
Old Chief Woodenhead is always my favorite story from Creepshow 2, I love that you have a Woodenhead comes to live to vengeance his owners death and going after sam & scumbags friends is a very Badass moments from Creepshow.
I remember, watching this in the theater as a kid and feeling totally disturbed in a fearful way. Specifically, in "Old Chief Wood'nhead", when the scumbag thugs were harassing the sweet old folks. Even though looking back now it is somewhat cheesy, but that was actually presented so convincingly, that the audience COMPLETELY sympathized with the two old shop owners… As if it was THEIR OWN grandparents that were in danger and being fucked with!… Very impactful! To me, that was arguably the most disturbing part of the whole movie! Because, it was something that could really happen!!! As opposed to all of the other disturbing moments that were basically just supernatural horror fantasy concepts

The stories, including the wraparound are effective and creepy, especially the second and third. But the first is a favorite as well, I love seeing George Kennedy and a young Holt McCallany.
The hitchhiker that wouldn't die no matter how many times you run him over or shoot him at point blank range, and the tar like lake monster eating/dissolving a group of dope smoking teens, are my two personal favourite two stories from "Creepshow 2" . It's true that the second film isn't as good as the original, but it's still a great 80s horror anthology film. Good to see Tom Savini appearing/acting in the film also. If you have seen the original, you need to see "Creepshow 2"👍

I grew up on both of these Creepshow films, as a kid in the 80's. Part 2 was always my personal favorite back then. I recently re-watched them with the g/f, for the first time in many years, forgetting many details. I still love part 2 the most, even though I like the comic/art style used in the first film more. The fatal robbery scene in Wooden-head was dramatic as hell, like it was real, thanks to Holt McCallany being a super-vile villain. The Raft, dude, INTENSE suspense, especially during the last sequence. And The Hitcher? Oh man, that one was shockingly action packed, for such a simple premise. And "thanks for the ride lady", best out of nowhere line ever. Sure, it is less content than the first Creepshow, but man, the quality of those 3 stories are through the roof. They did an outstanding job, giving the challenges. Easily top 10 horror films on my list.
I Always liked how the oil slick monster actually shows "Intelligence" as it eats the duck and goes against the current and let's them get settled in first, before attacking. Showing that it's cunning and smart, before attacking the first person even. Best part of the movie. :)

The hitchhiker was hilarious, instant classic and The Raft was actually horrifying, giving me nightmares as a kid, so to me it did his job. The opening story was decent, it was a good revenge story where you root for the wooden chief . . But yeah it could of definitely been better. Creepshow holds its place, definitely not as great as the first one, but had its moments. . . . . especially being the horny little kid that I was, I used to sneak downstairs late at night when I saw on the TV guide when it was playing when everyone else was asleep to just tune in again to the watch the girl with the red t-shirt 'Horlicks University' to peek at her body lol. Of course turn it off right before she got eaten cuz that part scared the creepazoids out of me!!!!! Lol

Yes!!!!!!!!! soooo creepy! Glad to foind someone who appreciates that scene the way I've always have!
Me and my cousin were drinking and decided to watch this one night. When he howled we were both crying from laughing so hard, damn I love this movie
We always called the monster in the Raft "the killer Hefty bag" lol
One of the absolute best horror anthology movies....🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😱😱😱
The Raft affected me on a level equal to Jaws. It still makes my spine crawl
I love creepshow 2 !!!!!!
The Raft is best segment in this film and the ending is great.
Not as good as the first one but much better than the third one, just about anything is better than that. Like the second story about the carnivorous oil slick.
Have you seen 4? It makes part 3 look like an Oscar contender…… bad….so bad-but, watch it if you get the chance ♥️
I actually loved that movie when it came out and watching this makes me respect it a bit more
Lotta peeps sell Ol' Chief Woodenhead short, but the musical score it plays during the 'Warpaint' sequence is absolute Fire 🔥
The Raft is an fantastic story. 😀👍
I love this one I haven’t seen the first. I love the blob and hitchhiker one
The Raft was REALLY good. It's the crown jewel of the anthology imo. The Hitchhiker was decent too. Didn't care for the story with the Indian tho.
Thanks for the ride lady! Gave me nightmares for year's.
Absolutely loved Creepshow when I was a kid. Know my daughters say in picture as a kid I look just like Stephan King's son. But I'm just waiting for the goul to come outside my window.
I clicked on this video so fast, I always love the Creepshow movies, and Horror, Comedy from the Great... 1980s I just turned 18 in 1982 miss those days.. 😢
I love the first film and it's sequel was decent.
Creepshow 2 was my favorite as a kid. The Raft haunts me to this day, especially the ending.
Lol
This, the raft scared the ever loving shit out of me as a kid. We used to swim in a small lagoon on our farm and at a stip mine, that ended abruptly after seeing that haha
I watched creep show 2 late 1987 on HBO , I was 7 years old at the time and it stayed with me till today. To me it was a complete success , thanks for the ride lady!
If you haven't yet done so, you need to do a WTF happened to Creepshow 3. 😬😬
now THAT was total trash!
This hair is going to get me laid. CLASSIC. Here I come hollywood. Over here lady, I said over here lady. Best one liners ever.
There's nothing wrong with Creepshow 2
"Thanks For The Ride Lady". I will never get that quote out of my head.
Creepshow 3 was the worst horror movie ever made, besides Malibu vampires
"Old Chief Wood'nhead" that one is mine and my dad's favorite
Tales from the darkside is the unofficial creepshow 3.
great film seen it a few times
Hell of a lot better then the "official" Creepshow 3. That movie SUCKS.
Nothing touches Creepshow 2. Especially if you were actually a kid watching it in the 80's. I can't even begin to tell you what it means to me now and how it impacted me then. Wow
That's why this is my favorite horror anthology.I remember watching it when I was 10 on those late night horror movie marathons with Clint Howard.Great memories.
I loved Creepshow 2!
Hey Lady! Thanks for the ride!!! LOL!!!
I lived in Bangor Maine as a kid and watched them film some of the hitchhiker sequence. Funniest thing is she's essentially driving in a circle around Bangor.
Thanks for the ride, lady.
Haha thanks for the trivia.
"thanks for the ride lady" 👍🏻 so good and "I can hold my breath for a looonggg time" 😀
