As a geology graduate i would like give some advice to folks who are ready to dive into this domain.First and foremost you should have think twice before you gonna take any decision especially choosing a course after +2 dont be fascinated about the name "geology" and dive into it to be very honest if you want successful in geology you should have spend a lot of years from your life for pg and phd and stuffs like that.Eventhough if you do so there is no guarantee that you will get a better package and opportunities coz most of the companies have been asking experience to get in to even as a fresher but i know very logical qn that floating around our head is that as long as we dont get an opening in any of the company how could we get experienced??right thats cool.Folks..thiz is all what i said is from my experience dont be disappointed if you guys really passionate about the subject although there are some govt opputunity out there but you should also consider how much competitive will it be .Let me sum up my take on with in a single sentence please dont getinto this field until and unless u r really passionate about the subject..anyway all the best for your future
Pls do Geology degree in offline mode since many lab and field works are required. Join only if you have confidence in maths chemistry. Universities to aim for masters is BHU, IITB,IITR, IIT kgp, ISMD. Iam a Geologist from BHU..currently working in ONGC Hope this info will help everyone
