All told we dropped about an extra $8k I didn't mention we also did the skylight (no air-conditioning as off grid 95% of the time) paint was free, as was the grey water to fresh conversion, extra bayonet fitting, ark jockey wheel, lithium, skylight, sirocco fans, usb points at the bed were all extras. We paid more for it than some of the other Chinese imports, but we looked at all of them, honestly the build quality is far and away superior to the others. The caravan servicing company that fitted our WiTi for us commented that the build quality was exceptional, not just for a Chinese import, but even compared to a lot of Australian built vans they see come through.
We were OK GCM wise in the fortuner, unfortunately it was GVM that stuffed us... have a lot more room to shuffle things with the new setup, and even at max GVM, I can still tow 2.5t and be at GCM limit, we weighed in well under that, and that would mean having 1100kgs in the car! We'll do a formal weigh with a mobile professional in the coming weeks and upload it to the channel
@@10tenadventures thanks, i have just taken possession of the 2021 vx Prado with a GCM of 5990 and think a fully loaded Forbes 13 plus ball weight will push over the 5990?
I got a GCM upgrade pre rego for that reason, without a GCM upgrade, the 230+kgs will only allow for maybe 2 passengers if you have a few mods (bullbar etc.) You've got another 550kgs stock, lovells GVM gives another 500kgs on top of that (interestingly, their website indicates you also increase GCM by the same amount on post 2018 models, so I'm waiting on confirmation on that). Hi mate, which MDC dealer did you go through, I’m looking to get the Forbes 13 and the local dealer has told me they can only install the fan and USB on one side of the bed, not the other….
That is odd... are you dealing with Mark? If not, ask for him, if so, tell him you've watched our vids (Mark's in one of them!!) and know they did it for us and ask why now is different
