Superhero durability and streight is all over the place, sometimes a normal person can punch them to death, Stormfront is inmune to bullets but somehow a knife can cut her eye, others die by bullets and Homelander survives a nuke but a pencil almost killed him.
Quentin’s about to make his final film, and I feel like Karl Urban most likely wouldn’t be there. Though yeah, Quentin would give the most perfect dialogue imaginable

I love how in this scene they perfectly sum up who Butcher is. He lets Translucent smacks him couple of times so he bleeds, then spits on him to see where Translucent's head is (so he can punch him), and smears blood on hands so he can keep track of where punches are incoming.

It really makes me wonder who invisible a person could really be while still having a physical body. Dust and dirt stick to our skin pretty easily. In normal lighting conditions, translucent would be pretty easy to spot most likely.

If its actively redirecting the light he could probably just get away with making the pupils visible. Light goes in but outside observers just see 2 tiny black dots floating around. on most messy backgrounds it would be like trying to track a fly moveing around. you might catch glimpses of something but its very hard to focus on and track.
@Merendel it would arguably be easier than a fly for a lot of people. Once someone figures out it's a person they're fighting and not two weird flies, they can much more easily predict the movement of the person even without seeing their whole body

I saw clips and previews of The Boys way before I watched it, and I was kind of expecting Butcher to have some kind of enhancements that would have allowed him to see Translucent, like some heat vision contact lenses or something, but no, he was totally fighting him blind, using his blood to paint him visible. That's even more badass!!!

Translucent had a chip in him, and taking him out of the zinc-coated room would immediately put him under Vought’s radar. It probably also contains his vital signs, so if they found out that they were being altered by a life-threatening event, they would instantly send Homelander or A-train to find out the perpetrators. Something that would kill him without Vought being able to locate the place of his death was important.

I've thought about how it would be hard for an invisible person to stay completely invisible. They'd collect dust that would, over time, make them more and more visible. The moisture from the air as well. You'd see them, but just a light outline of a person.
A lot of things don't work like entertainment shows them. Guns, falling from more than four inches, transparent computer displays, lighting inside helmets, enhancing images, waking up in the morning without nasty breath, drool cheek or goofy hair...
I really prefer this over everyone just having super powers. I think it's a lot cooler to have normal people finding creative ways to take down supers and remind them they're mortal.
Homelander doesn't have a kryptonite though. It's literally impossible for an average joe to kill him. The rest, like The Deep, A-Train and such are easy.

I love how the reason that Hugie and Butcher won this fight isn't only bc Butchers is completely mental for fighting supes. It's bc of how big of a fan of supes that Hughie was that he knew electricity would work on Translucent bc of what his skin is made of.
It would of made for a more interesting premise than all the political intrigue bullsh**. The worst of it is just how few supes actually get killed by them in the series. To the point where it's confusing what the actual goal was here. Homelander has killed something like 10 times the number of supes they have lmao.
Circuit breakers only trip if the amps exceeds about 15 or 20. Ironically, because the electricity is fighting resistance to get to ground then it barely exceeds 3 amps. Since it takes less than 1 amp to kill a person and we can go up to 15 it's unlikely any circuit breaker will ever trip to save your life. You're actually hoping the electricity is being drawn to ground through something conductive as that is the only way it will trip.

For one, the USA pulls 120 and it wasn't standard for a long time to have GFI outlets in bathrooms. So the stories of people electrocuting themselves to death from hair dryers are very real. Those stories wouldn't of been real if the circuit breaker flipped the instant the electricity started arcing through the water.

Butcher was such a Chad he was capable of holding his own against a member of the Seven in hand to hand combat with no powers whatsoever, up until he got knocked down and Hughie gave him a 440 amp enima.
This scene was so brilliant because it showed me exactly who Butcher was, He takes Translucent on with a crowbar and his bare hands because Butcher is a brawler and bruiser who needs to dispel his anger physically He tells Hughie to get out, showing that at this venture he does still care about collatoral damage He uses his own blood to make Translucent visible enough to know where to strike and dodge Showing that he has training and or experience and the brains to think in the moment
NGL, the way Butcher countered Translucent’s invisibility is exactly how I thought Daredevil would counter the Hand ninjas’ no heartbeat crap. Let them beat him bloody, and constantly splatter them with his blood to locate them.

Circuit breakers only trip if the amps exceeds about 15 or 20. Ironically, because the electricity is fighting resistance to get to ground then it barely exceeds 3 amps. Since it takes less than 1 amp to kill a person and we can go up to 15 it's unlikely any circuit breaker will ever trip to save your life. You're actually hoping the electricity is being drawn to ground through something conductive as that is the only way it will trip.
@@setcheck67they only trip from an overload? Maybe in your country… where I live they trip from a short circuit as well as an overload. We also have breakers that go well beyond 20amps.
@@godwantsplastic There is a lot of things in the electrical grid in the USA that aren't similar elsewhere. For one, the USA pulls 120 and it wasn't standard for a long time to have GFI outlets in bathrooms. So the stories of people electrocuting themselves to death from hair dryers are very real. Those stories wouldn't of been real if the circuit breaker flipped the instant the electricity started arcing through the water.

I wouldn't worry about my feelings btw as I only posted this because someone might actually believe a circuit breaker will save them thanks to your ignorance. For anyone reading this that isn't this manbaby, the only protection you get from electrocution is a GFI outlet and it is the reason they are now standard in bathrooms and kitchens because you will be shocked without them.

Butcher was such a Chad he was capable of holding his own against a member of the Seven in hand to hand combat with no powers whatsoever, up until he got knocked down and Hughie gave him a 440 amp enima.
This scene was so brilliant because it showed me exactly who Butcher was,
He takes Translucent on with a crowbar and his bare hands because Butcher is a brawler and bruiser who needs to dispel his anger physically
He tells Hughie to get out, showing that at this venture he does still care about collatoral damage
He uses his own blood to make Translucent visible enough to know where to strike and dodge
Showing that he has training and or experience and the brains to think in the moment
