- Butcher (Karl Urban) arrives at Hughie's (Jack Quaid) work looking to take down an invisible Supe called Translucent (Alex Hassell).
From Season 1, Episode 1: "The Name of the Game"
Watch The Boys on Amazon Prime Video: AAN.SonyPicture...
Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. Based on the comic book series of the same name.

The smile on Butcher's face whenever he gets to throw hands with a supe is elite lmao
Bro was straight BEAMING when he got to fight Homelander with an even playing field lol
@@toogee1850 Wouldn't anyone?
Equal parts demented, savage, terrifying, and hilarious. Basically the entire show in one expression.
My personal theory, in series finale of this show, the Boys will use compound-V to engineer a compound that temporarily strips a supe of their powers. They'll then feed this to Homelander via his milk obsession, and then Billy will finally get to throw down with Homelander on his own level.

@4:30 This is still one of my favorite moments in the show, just Butcher’s calm voice “Yea so I’m not really a fed” followed by Hughie’s reaction. Pure Gold
and his little head thrust like "so what it's no big deal" hahaha
@@liamreilly951 the fucking head nudge sends me every time

Wrong timestamp.
3:20 Watching this scene again I just realized,
Hughie was the one screaming. Not Translucent lol
bro ... just noticed that after your comment .. lol always thought it was translucent who screamed
Wtf, lol i just noticed it after this comment haha
Yeap xd
Oh shit
Translucent was being shocked which force's your body to lock so he couldn't scream
I want to see Karl Urban in a Tarantino film. Giving him that kind of dialogue would be legendary.
Quentin’s about to make his final film, and I feel like Karl Urban most likely wouldn’t be there. Though yeah, Quentin would give the most perfect dialogue imaginable
@@juanjoyaborja.3054 Working with Quentin as an actor or actress is like being a chef apprentice for that third Micheline star. It's quite the purgatory, and in many cases not that fun. Karl Urban is reportedly not that interested in projects that can't be any fun on set, which isn't exactly uncommon among actors and actresses.
Don't you mean DIABOLICAL?
Quentin is an anarcholiberal pervert. People with any shard of decency refuse to play parts in his group therapy sessions / "movies".
Or Guy Richie
Can you imagine watching this from outside the store💀
Guy walking by watching them fight the air lol. “The fuck is happening here??”
“Ah shit looks like they both have DID”
“Oh wait how can they share the same personality Wtf”
“Eh must be an acid trip”

Fight Club😂
Probably looks like how non stand users see fights in jojo.
I feel like Billy's perfect drinking partner is the Punisher.
second
The character of Billy Butcher is supposed to be a pastiche of the Punisher.
Funny you say that, I came to this video directly from the Punisher bar fight video 🍻
Love that idea, big respect to you 👏
The guy who made the boys always so write for the punisher for a time, like 2005 or 2006 I think
I love how in this scene they perfectly sum up who Butcher is. He lets Translucent smacks him couple of times so he bleeds, then spits on him to see where Translucent's head is (so he can punch him), and smears blood on hands so he can keep track of where punches are incoming.
Also goes in completly confident and gets beat up
Figured that out all on your own did you? 🙄
@@xJaaku Yes. Problem?
And then gets taken down by a kick because he didn't have an opportunity to spit blood on his legs/feet yet.
I wonder... Is Translucent stronger in any possible way other than being hard to detect?
Even if he's just very slightly stronger. Other than that, what a fkin boring hero lmao
Could literally die by accident if an attack is directed at someone else but he's in the way.
Translucent yelling "champions of the innocent" to the guy who's head he's about to smash with a TV 😂😂
Kudos to billy butcher for going head first against someone invisible. It takes guts to fight someone you can’t even see
And not only that, he LITERALLY went head first
semi transparent you mean
@@riderchallenge4250 ☝🤓
I like how the fight shows that not all supes are extremely strong, just really durable
true, most of the superheroes in the tv show adaptation don't have supervillains with equal strength. As a result, they don't have combat experience since they're surrounded by powerless humans. They're more like celebrities than actual heroes since many of the threats are things the police can take care of.
@@Giorgos906 He is strong, he just can't fight. Which is why he gets his ass kicked by alfred and batman.
Facts. Even with invisibility, if it wasn't for the extra tough skin, Translucent would have gotten his ass beat by Butcher. You can just feel the impact of the punches in the camera, lmao.
@@LL-id5ijwho
Superhero durability and streight is all over the place, sometimes a normal person can punch them to death, Stormfront is inmune to bullets but somehow a knife can cut her eye, others die by bullets and Homelander survives a nuke but a pencil almost killed him.
Butcher using his own blood to see Translucent is the most metal thing ever
Translucent's greatest weakness; a box of paint....
Or hit the sprinkler system...

Ah. This scene reminded me why we shouldn't feel bad about Hughie killing him. And why Hughie wasn't in the wrong.
0:55 Hughie not telling Translucent about Billy Butcher was one of the bravest thing he's done
Karl was born to play Billy!
I just came here to see Karl Urban enjoying himself so friggin much lol. The man may not have gotten a sequel to DREDD 3D like he wanted, but now he's on one of the best shows since forever
Yeah, not getting a ‘Dredd’ sequel sucks, but ‘The Boys’ is definitely a great substitute to what we never got.
Butcher clarifying that by 'boot' he was referring to the trunk of the car as if thats what Huey meant is hilarious. Then the argument that follows is priceless
"If it ain't The Invisible C***." I love Karl Urban.
Not taking his side, but technically Tranclucent did his job kinda, saw a threat to the tower and wanted to deal with it.
Oh so that’s what he was doing in the womens restroom. He was identifying threats.
People saying that he should've let Homelander handle it.. No fvcking way.
Homelande would've told Translucent to fvck off and do it himself.
@@MrJaxKnife did you not see the "not taking his side" part, or just ignore it?
@@xobler2508 I was just making a joke but since you got your panties in a bunch I’ll just say it’s a weak argument regardless. “Just following orders” hasn’t been a valid excuse since WW2.
@@MrJaxKnife good man👌
Great scene! Thanks for the upload!
He knows how and when to improvise
So where did translucent have the bug at 0:36 🤔 where'd he pull it from 😂
Dude plays that character so well 😂👍
The first season will always be the best season of this show..
Season 2:
I really prefer this over everyone just having super powers. I think it's a lot cooler to have normal people finding creative ways to take down supers and remind them they're mortal.
Homelander doesn't have a kryptonite though. It's literally impossible for an average joe to kill him. The rest, like The Deep, A-Train and such are easy.
@@setcheck67 there's a virus coming
"Then who the f**knare you?" That detective is the right question.
3:29 to 3:47 : The background theme "Take you down" was a perfect fit for that takedown
Okay. But what was that song in the background? I like it.

I've thought about how it would be hard for an invisible person to stay completely invisible. They'd collect dust that would, over time, make them more and more visible. The moisture from the air as well. You'd see them, but just a light outline of a person.
“Let’s get him in the boot”
“What?!”
“Let’s get him in the trunk”
😂😂 makes me laugh for some reason
4:33 that expression is sooo fuckin perfect and funny🤣🤣
Dude Butcher is such a badass lol just fights an invisible supe with his fists like a goddamn man
The drop in quality is palpable
Nah
It did?
They rarely run long scenes like this, it feels like there is no time to just sit in a scene anymore.
I love how the reason that Hugie and Butcher won this fight isn't only bc Butchers is completely mental for fighting supes. It's bc of how big of a fan of supes that Hughie was that he knew electricity would work on Translucent bc of what his skin is made of.
Jack Quaid pro actor, loved his and Homelander's aka Tony Starr's acting ❤️❤️
The Boys used to be so good and now we have season 4.
Season 4 is still solid
Translucent is one of the person with strongest skin and incredible strength than the average human. Amd he has invisible power too.
Butcher average human tries to fight him with valor.
Kudos to that character
he might be strong but he can't fight for shit
1:58 when a ghost hunter catches a ghost on camera
Yall need a nuclear powerplant to have one TV running? Sheesh
Butchers smile is what drives interest
The way Butcher fights is very generic but oddly satisfying
This fight. Fucking diabolical.
Man hughie’s changed a lot through the seasons
Someone using their own blood to identify where an invisible superhero is, has to be one of the grittiest things in a tv show thus far
As an electrician I have to say....
IT DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT
his cake was baked
I miss this Butcher.
Butcher is as tough as nails for taking punches from a supe.
Omg!...that butcher's smile(3:16)😂
This scene was so brilliant because it showed me exactly who Butcher was,
He takes Translucent on with a crowbar and his bare hands because Butcher is a brawler and bruiser who needs to dispel his anger physically
He tells Hughie to get out, showing that at this venture he does still care about collatoral damage
He uses his own blood to make Translucent visible enough to know where to strike and dodge
Showing that he has training and or experience and the brains to think in the moment
Thank god they don’t have circuit breakers in this universe!
Circuit breakers only trip if the amps exceeds about 15 or 20. Ironically, because the electricity is fighting resistance to get to ground then it barely exceeds 3 amps. Since it takes less than 1 amp to kill a person and we can go up to 15 it's unlikely any circuit breaker will ever trip to save your life. You're actually hoping the electricity is being drawn to ground through something conductive as that is the only way it will trip.
@@setcheck67they only trip from an overload? Maybe in your country… where I live they trip from a short circuit as well as an overload. We also have breakers that go well beyond 20amps.
@@godwantsplastic There is a lot of things in the electrical grid in the USA that aren't similar elsewhere. For one, the USA pulls 120 and it wasn't standard for a long time to have GFI outlets in bathrooms. So the stories of people electrocuting themselves to death from hair dryers are very real. Those stories wouldn't of been real if the circuit breaker flipped the instant the electricity started arcing through the water.
@@setcheck67 cool story.
Are you claiming that 120, like in this video would do what we see it doing?
I mean first you blabber about breakers only tripping from overloads and when you got called on that you move the goal posts and bring in some new players… bathtubs? Was there a bathtub in this scene? History? Is this scene based on the time you’re referring to? You could just take the L and move on with your life but you gotta double down and show a little insecurity… you’ll probably try again, maybe this time you’ll project some of that insecurity…
@@godwantsplastic The scene is pseudoscience, but the effect of breakers tripping just because someone is electrocuted is simply not a reality no matter how hard you really want it to be. I wouldn't worry about my feelings btw as I only posted this because someone might actually believe a circuit breaker will save them thanks to your ignorance. For anyone reading this that isn't this manbaby, the only protection you get from electrocution is a GFI outlet and it is the reason they are now standard in bathrooms and kitchens because you will be shocked without them.
So basically, a few members of the Seven aren't very powerful at all, if a single human like Butcher can throw hands and hold his own for a bit.
I love it when Butcher makes Smirky face😂❤
Billybutcher would make a great cast for lobo from dc. If they ever decide to make a lobo movie, dc should not miss the chance to cast him
I can totally see him riding space dolphins
never understood how dude can have bullets from a sniper bounce off of him but a punch from a normal human knocks his head around
1:42 is this a reference to the Terminator? Scene at the police station, same car )
The scene was moderately funny, then the voice crack at the end. My funeral will be this Saturday at 7pm

*Is an invisible super hero*
*has a name literally relating to his invisibility*
*Gets annoyed at huey for not seeing him*
He never had these kind of problems on the Cerritos.
Butcher technically not part of the Fed makes him the good guys.
This was still the best fight scene in my opinion
NGL, the way Butcher countered Translucent’s invisibility is exactly how I thought Daredevil would counter the Hand ninjas’ no heartbeat crap. Let them beat him bloody, and constantly splatter them with his blood to locate them.
once butcher smiles at you during a fight, you lost.
“We’re basically privatizing war”
Ma’am, have you not heard of mercenaries? War is a booming business!
When Eomer catches Gollum sneaking off with the One Ring.
Love the rest of it, but Season 1 of this show was really unmatched
It's nice to see the guy who played Eomer in something really successful.
This scene is how I knew this show was for me
Bro is naked and you couldnt see the device when he walked in, think about that for a second.....
Translucent: 3:20 My asshole!
Yeah, first season was good. Shame how it all turned out later.
Diamond, impenetrable skin, took a huge sniper round in the chest and laughed it off... but a human punch can shake him. Love the show, but the inconsistency of supe powers and vitality is annoying at times
I just realized they used the same bug to bug the meeting in Season 4.
He spitting his own blood tells u billy ready
I don't still understand the reason that the Boys have no powers since the beginning of the serie. It changes completely the objective and the methods
What?
@huntsman9316 what what? Which is your doubt? The Boys without super strength and super speed have to do the things in a very different way the do in the comics where they are over the 90% of supes in strength
@@nandonando Ah, now I get your comment. Ya, they are going a different way. The creator of the comic hated superheroes, so all he wanted to do was create a story where superheroes were @ssholes who get slaughtered. So, the boys are equally matched with them.
But they did the correct thing in the Amazon series and didn't follow the comics (because the comics were kinda terrible). They made the boys have no powers at first because that actually created a conflict. Ordinary people fighting overpowered villain “heroes.” In every situation, they are outmatched, so they need to use their intelligence to get the upper hand.
And it’s also amazing storytelling. A superhero is someone who had a past traumatic event, gets powers, and becomes a hero to save others who are in need of help.
The boys got the traumatic past without powers, and the 7 got the powers without the traumatic past. That alone creats deep and complex characters.
Much better than a story about super-powered people easily beating the sh!t out of super-powered people the entire time🙄
@huntsman9316 I am so sorry but I can't agree with you. The fact of having powers makes The Boys a real menace for most of supes, except the Seven, but they have the pictures of Homelander (Black Noir really) killing and eating a baby, and maybe Stormfront (and he has his own proyects). In the serie, most of supes has nothing to fear the Boys because nearly every of them can defeat the whole group in few seconds. The concept is absolutely different from the group in the comics (with also unlimited budget from the Goverment) and despite I love the series, for me it was a downgrade. Fortunately they fixed some of the worst parts of the comics (Soldier Boy is horrible in the comics but the Bad Bucky version is great) so the global opinion of many fan is really positive
@@nandonando Eh, the boys being a Menace just doesn't have a story; No conflict, or feeling of worry. Most people agree the comics were an obvious vent, so the storytelling wasn't the best, especially with that black noir twist at the end.
So they shaped it into something that would keep people watching. And almost everyone agrees, and is happy that they didn't follow the comic. The comic was terrible, but I understand some liked it and are sad the show isn't like the comics. But I, and most people believe it saved the show. Sometimes the source material isn't good enough
He's never been to oovoo javer
Billy butcher is the batman of the show and superman is homelander
Karl Urban would make a great Dracula.
RIGHT DOWN MAIN STREET!
1:34 literally me in gta
what i dont understand is that, if translucent was extremely durable in his form. And if he is able to tank a direct hit by a moving car and just casually walk it off like no problem. How in the HELL did butcher manage to not hurt his hands while punching him, or even get hurt? at what point do actual physics apply
Shocked his Gluteus Maximus.
Still the best fight in the show IMO.
soldier boy , homelander , and billy was pretty dope too. Id put it second place lol
I mean, am I the only one who's thinking about where he stored the bug while entering the shop? It appears from visibly nowhere, but a male body only has so many holes to have the bug in so it won't be visible while he walks.
Everything he said needs the word "fuck"
One of the best scenes 🤣

Did he said carbon is highly conductive? 4:05
Yes
Graphene is highly conductive. Graphite is also conductive. Many of the carbon structures are conductive.
Butcher is a one courageous MF ,
Ballls of steel that fella. 😮
The production quality difference between this scene and the rest of the series is staggering. I'm so sick and tired of shows blowing their budget on the first episode because they expect you to finish the season anyway.
Lol
What? Give me an example of bad production quality on the other episodes.
@@lonelylama5222 he cant. People just love to complain about everything for no reason.

I don't care if you're a supe or not, but If you're fighting someone who's already all bloody and still smiling, you should just stop the fight and run.
This was when Starlight had a proper face.

I love that, from the get-go, we see that Hughie's got a lot more in him that meets the eye. From the way he perfectly hid his emotion like a poker player from A-train, to being smart enouigh to device a strategy against translucent from a bit of trivia he casually saw on TV, we get to see that, when pushed into a corner, the badass in him comes out.
