      PostapocalypticGarage...this is a cool way to make slugs, but same with slugs...need a decent gun to handle the pressure. It looks as though U have a nice shotgun.

      Love it! Post Apocalypse or before it, birdshot is more readily available than buck or slugs. And, I'll need the wax for my bikini line so, this video is particularly helpful.

    Thank you! I can remember my Grandfather making his cut shells for the coyotes he had to chase off on his farm. For some reason he did not like shooting his rifle (cal unknown).

  • @propanepusher101
    @propanepusher101 7 лет назад +1

    my dad taught me this back when I was a kid, he used 3 cut notches in the shell helps keep it together in your shirt pocket or coat pocket, it has never failed me. the practice goes back many years most people could not afford bird shot and slugs or buckshot so the cut shell was born to cover two hunting needs with one bullet purchase good to see this trick rekindled keep at PG, Lilly and you should do a few " team " survival posts about teaming with some one with different skills to show that some times this is a good thing

    Cut slugs are amazing, my grandfather used to hunt with these when he was younger due the cost of actual slugs. theyre a bit scary to shoot from a self loading shotgun, as some of them split in the transition.

    Nice video. Your channel is developing nicely, keep up the good work!
    I suggest that you make a video showing how the wax slug or cut shell behaves after it's passed through something like a plywood sheet or car door. For instance by placing a second sheet one or two feet behind the first. In order to find out if it would be effective against a target behind cover.

    • @PostapocalypticGarage
      @PostapocalypticGarage  7 лет назад +4

      +TheWorkshop -good idea my friend...but none of these rounds are suitable for barrier penetration...they work more like frangible projectiles...when hitting a medium they'll fall apart, releasing all of their energy in a few inches...but that's a real good advantage against over penetration

    can the cut shells cycle threw a pump shotgun ..And is there added fowling and damage to the bore of the gun from the plastic exiting so fast..

    • @jarrottsolich2668

      good idea going camping with lilly thats how i found you...

    • @PostapocalypticGarage
      @PostapocalypticGarage  7 лет назад

      +Jarrott Solich -I wouldn't recommend it...it's not completely impossible when you leave a little bit more of the plastic shell intact so that the whole thing is a little more stable when feeding into the chamber ...but you'll have a much higher risk of malfunctions...wax slugs will be not ideal but much more reliable when you top it off with a plug of pure wax so the BBs stay inside and not jam your action...for the barrel there's even a lower risk of damage due to the fact that plastic is much softer than for example steel shot.

    +PostapocalypticGarage - Do you also have shot loads for handgun rounds in Austria? CCI makes them in the US, for 9mm, .38 Spl, .40S&W, .44 Spl, 45 ACP, and .45 Colt There might be some room for adaptation with those as well. Awesome demonstration. Improvisation and adaptation are vital survival skills.

    • @PostapocalypticGarage
      @PostapocalypticGarage  7 лет назад +1

      +Apple Stump Bushcraft Stuff and Things -so far I've only seen shot loads from CCI (or any other brand) for .22lr in austria...i know, that they exist and shot them a few times in the US but the were never popular in Austria.

    • @karvast5726
      @karvast5726 3 года назад

      Don't use a gun that has a very tight choke and you really shouldn't ever have a problem if your gun has a tight choke check the barrel because the plastic could get stuck and the shots would leave the barrel but it shouldn't cause more problem than that

    • @PostapocalypticGarage

      +Asian Prepper Mom -I wouldn't recommend it...it's not completely impossible when you level a little bit more of the shell intact when cutting so that it remains stable in its form... but you'll always have the risk of malfunctions when feeding into the chamber...wax slugs will be a not ideal but much better option as cutshells when topped of with pure wax so that all the BBs stay inside
