Arthur Worsley is the best ventriloquist EVER! Hands down. (Or even hands up!). It’s as simple as that. And I’ve seen them all. R.I.P. Mr Worsley. And thank you for sharing your genius with the world.
Seeing this act back in 1963 was almost forgotten until he got to the B words, like "bottle of beer" Then I remembered. Everyone was talking about it the next day!
I was brought up with Ray Charles on UK TV who is a great ventriloquist. Don't remember seeing Arthur Worsley before but viewing this was fantastic! Thanks for posting.
Thanks so much for posting this! I'd seen some other Worsley appearances on the show, but not this one. Love when he turns Charlie's back to the audience.
3 things I look at when a ventriloquist acts, lips, reaction, clear voice this guy has mastered it to perfection a ventriloquist could have a funny act but if i see his lips movie it spoils it because I'm looking at his lips movie. This guy is so good he makes you think that the puppet is real..
Many gifted people were born on an Island group off Northwest Europe,[Great Britain]. Arthur Worsley is one of them,. He grew up in a land of values and standards, under the illumination of the Westminster Catechism. His God given gifts were used to make people happy, and amused, and broadly for the glory of God. Rest in Peace good servant.
I worked with Ray Alan and Lord Charles - he was magnificent - this man equally skilful but with a unique gimmick ie only the dummy talks A joy to behold
This is probably the only time Arthur Worsley spoke on stage during his career ( 5:12 ). An absolute genius and, in my view, there has been no better ventriloquist before or since.
Even though I know the punchline I still laugh. Not only was Arthur Worsley the best ventriloquist ever, he was extremely funny with it. He packs so much into one very short, slick routine. I wish I had been able to see him in a full show. I wish more of his work had been saved for future generations to be able to appreciate his talent. 👋
So good at his craft. Eric Morecambe confessed 2 stealing the ‘look at me when I’m talking 2 u’ line from him. He was part of many of their summer season shows in the 60s.
Arthur Wilkinson Worsley (16 October 1920 - 19 July 2001) was a British ventriloquist who appeared regularly on British television from the 1950s to the 1970s. His act with dummy Charlie Brown had Charlie do all the talking, while Worsley himself remained "silent".
One of the worst ventriloquist acts I have ever seen, His lips move slightly sometimes when talking and during every word when singing. His body posture is moving far too much with every word rather than showing he is relaxed and not making to much effort trying to hide the fact he is talking which is the whole point of the illusion and he fails to do it at all. He shows no interaction with the doll and just looks away. This is bad acting in so many ways. When a ventriloquist makes no effort to make a good act, show good posture and be involved in a conversation with the doll how can he be the best or at the very least good!

Ray allenWas the best then Arthur worsley.x
@@alanharper4478I just love it so much it's really remember reel thing after again this time
@@alanharper4478 Agree 100%.
Good, but it looks too obvious. Arthur looks to expressionless. Ray Allen had his own facial expressions that were interacting with Lord Charles.
Danny o day is best
Just brilliant. Never see the likes of this act again
What a fantastic thing , to show how the dummy works. Half hearted audience really. What a genius.
This guy was great! He created a unique way to do the act.
One of the funniest ventriloquist acts I've ever seen classic
Fantastic act. Especially for an unseen clip to pop up on RUclips .
I wish I could find more of Worsley's routines. He's just wonderful and I keep listening to these few and continue to enjoy them .
That finish was fantastic
"Where were you then"?... Big belly laugh at that :)
Holy cow! He is simply AMAZING! All vents should spite to be as good as this guy. Wow!
How good is this? I love watching Arthur Worsley, Ray Allan and Nina Conti. All fabulous.
The best ventriloquist, I have EVER seen....
Danny o day is the best
Seeing this act back in 1963 was almost forgotten until he got to the B words, like "bottle of beer"
Then I remembered. Everyone was talking about it the next day!
my friend was his next door neighbour before he died but now hes dead and his son is his next door neighbour
wow so old a clip and so bloody good,
A brilliant vent ... Thanks for posting this clip.

I think you mean Ray Alan, whose dummy is named Lord Charles
Did anyone notice how he said “Dearly Brethren” hesitation? That’s dang near impossible as a vent. I applaud him for his mastery of the art.
This guy’s awesome.
Amazing. Just lovely and so much talent!
Thanks so much for posting this! I'd seen some other Worsley appearances on the show, but not this one. Love when he turns Charlie's back to the audience.
Wow, what an act, thanks!
Arthur was the best I have ever seen. A true master of his craft.
This guys is a genius
Absolutely amazing
That's talent.
"Impossible" haha, nice one!
Simply the best - full stop.
The intensity of this performance elevates it to the best vent act I've ever seen.............

Worsely speaks in this clip but it was a very rare occasion. (5:12)
Love his act... So awesome...

And a very funny punchline too, if you got it...

You've never seen Ray Alan then? Arthur Worsley is to Ray Alan what Mike and Bernie Winters were to Laurel and Hardy.
@@SuperFerdie1965Ray Alan was a genius. He seemed to actually say B’s and M’s and didn’t move his mouth at all
@@LawnBowlerUK
Don't forget Lord Charles himself was a decent ventriloquist too. He had a little doll also! (qv The Bob Monkhouse Show)
Absolutely fabulous…I had forgotten all about him until I saw this…and then my childhood memories came flooding back xx
Has the most natural mouth position of any vent I know.
Just amazing, I love it when he makes fun of himself.
This guy is the best ventriloquist I've ever seen.
The king.
Very funny, and technically amazing! Thank you for posting this.
Along with Ray Allen and his posh partner Lord Charles, we were privileged to witness sheer talent at work.
One of the best ever , only Ray Allen could equal him.
Technically Ray Alan was a better vent.
The only man I do and ever will admire. The greatest to ever live. Sorry, Jeff. 😂
What a very half hearted audience. That’s Americans for you. Superb Arthur Worsley, up there with Ray Alan and Lord Charles.
As ventriloquists go this is as good as it gets.
OMG WORSLEY SPOKE
"How is it when I shout you spit in my face?"
Awesome artist, funny and skilled!
No one is better. In the past, now or the future.
This man was a genius! His ironic use of the dummy was unrivalled. Ray Allan was the greatest of them all, but Worsley ran him a very close second.
Ventriloquist's insight: After Charlie's "bottle of beer" tirade Worsley had to sneak a swallow. "If it was easy..."
JD is pretty darn good he shows more expression and makes it look more like the puppet is alive!
Brilliant always
So good at his craft. Eric Morecambe confessed 2 stealing the ‘look at me when I’m talking 2 u’ line from him. He was part of many of their summer season shows in the 60s.
He is fantastic! B and P! Just about impossible. Makes all the 2 act vents seem very weak.
Brilliant!
Brilliant
People today don’t know what they are missing
☺️
Speak for yourself can you
Great!

The King of Motionless Lips!!
Wow
Gottle a Geer 😂

Make you so right about the audience. Anyway, who cares what they think, Arthur Worsley was great, as was Ra Alan with Lord Charles.
That's how audiences were then, no jumping about and standing on chairs. They were laughing though.
Christopher Walken the ventriloquist
Bergen moved his lips but his jokes were a million times better
Arthur worsley is mute all dummy do talk Arthur worsley funny ventenliouist
Creepy.

I have a ventriloquist dummy and I have an act following like Mr worsley and Charlie but he's more mean
Love his act... So awesome...
