  • Here at Nighthawk Custom, we released our Drop-In Series of parts at SHOT Show 2020. One area of our Drop-In Series of parts is our selection of drop-in barrels. These barrels have been designed to offer customers the ease of adding a high-quality barrel right form home with only minimal gunsmithing required.
    Our Drop-In Series barrels currently consist of eight options. We offer two threaded 9mm barrels, with one being a 5” and the other being a 4.25”. We also offer two 9mm barrels that have not been threaded, also in 5” and 4.25”. There are two .45 ACP barrels which are threaded, coming in 5” and 4.25” models. Finally, two .45 ACP non-threaded barrels at 5” and 4.25”.
    As with our hand-fit barrels, each barrel is Fully Machined from a solid steel billet. Since not every pistol owner has a mill and laith are home, we have done much of the work for you. The barrel hood has been cut and trimmed to size, while the bottom lugs have already been profiled with a barrel link installed. The chamber has been bored out to the proper depth, making these drop-in barrels ready to install straight out of the package.

      It should work just fine. We always say there's a chance some fitting may be required, just because of varying tolerances from manufacturer to manufacturer.

    If my barrel is 5” non threaded and I want to get a threaded barrel I still get a 5” threaded barrel right?? Cuz the threads will sit up in front of that 5 inches?? It’s my First 1911, thinking of ordering a barrel and what not to make a nice hard fit pistol. Possibly a dumb question I’m aware of this but still.

    • @NighthawkCustomFirearms
      @NighthawkCustomFirearms  3 года назад +1

      Not a dumb question. You will need a 5" threaded barrel to replace the 5" barrel in a government 1911. If we can help in any way, let us know 👍

    Which one of your threaded barrels drops into at RIA M1911 A1 FS?

    • @NighthawkCustomFirearms
      @NighthawkCustomFirearms  3 года назад +1

      It depends on your pistol. If your A1 FS is chambered in .45 ACP, then our .45 ACP drop-in threaded barrel will work. If your pistol is chambered in 9mm, none of our barrels will work. Our barrels are cut for Wilson/Nolan ramp, while the RIA uses Clark/Para.

    • @NighthawkCustomFirearms
      @NighthawkCustomFirearms  3 года назад

      There's no need to register the barrel. Our .45ACP 4.25" Drop-In Series barrel would work great, but it may require minor gunsmithing. If gunsmithing is required, we could always do a new barrel install for you.

    • @NighthawkCustomFirearms
      @NighthawkCustomFirearms  3 года назад

      It would need a little smithing. We couldn't say what specific link you would need without seeing the pistol. Also, the bushing that you would need, as far as our parts go, would an oversized commander bushing, which we don't have for sale. We do have those oversized commander bushings, but they are only used in builds. If you sent the pistol in to us, we could install both, but if you're wanting something closer to drop-in that you don't have to send the pistol in somewhere, that may not be what you're looking for. Wish we could give you some more convenient options. Let us know if we can help with anything else.
