I personally think its the doors of perception he describes in these songs. Opening it will bring down the walls of illusion and comfort of what we perceive as reality (the castle), but can we be trusted with that sort of knowledge and power? Or will humanity become, you know who....."hello".

The staircase bit was filmed inside a WW2 bunker in Hamburg, Germany (Flakturm IV), where they've played shows in the past. Don't know about the other parts though
