REUPLOAD - Hello everyone! Yes, this one is a reupload. There was an audio and video glitch in this morning's upload and my OCD had to do something about it, so here is the new and improved version! Thanks as always for your patience and understanding guys, I hope you enjoy the video!
@@bluehunter50 I know, it was because I was doing a challenge of using the loudest weapons against the two dinos that can charge from far away as soon as they heard a gunshot=)
I grew up with the mobile versions, and I figured how to get dinosaurs without dying. I would relocate onto a mountain where the dinosaurs couldn’t get me. Then I would call them in, and once they were close enough, I shot ‘em down. Worked pretty well, but I do think that I abused the system a little.
"Mistaking a Velociraptor for a Gallimimus" 😆 I remember learning that the hard way when I was first playing this game. I can't remember the map. But I can remember watching the "Gallimimus" running down the small ravine wall down near me do a U turn right for me & realizing at the last second that nope that is a Raptor & firing wildly my rifle then being eaten. I felt like a total fool. Good times lol
I'm not sure if many people know this, but you swim slightly faster when your head is below the water while run mode is on. And yes, occasionally press space to get some air. Although I really don't think any of the maps in the original trilogy really force you to take a detour through a body of water (Except Vengar Fjords, Ravaren's Bridge, Dry Nodus Lake and maybe McRath Island). But in mods like Carnivores + where almost all the islands are separated by water, it is a small convenience, unless you don't want to put the time.
Here's my personal method to preparing a hunt. (These aren't in any particular order, by the way.) 1. Pick the dinosaur I want to hunt, preferably ones that take a single shot to tranquilize. (Also, I usually pick the Dinosaurs that can be brought down with one X-Bow bolt/arrow.) 2. Pick whatever map I feel like hunting on. 3. Pick the X-Bow. (It's powerful, accurate, and makes the least amount of noise.) 4. Have Tranquilizer turned on, plus Radar, and Double Ammo. (The 25% boost from tranquilizing an animal negates the 30% credit reduction of the Radar, leaving you with 20% of the 25% of extra credits earned.)
If you have copies of the 3 hunting simulator Carnivores games, I'd recommend you adopt the Radar + Tranquilizer tactic. Personally, this is my recommended tactic.
For me using your environment to your advantage is the most important rule. There's a big difference in hunting on some flat Plains verses on the rocky mountains.
Honestly the only time I use radar is in observer mode. I feel like it takes away the fun, for example it's way more thrilling without it, because a hungry Carnivore could be waiting right behind you, or lurking in the bushes waiting to strike at any moment. It really adds to the creepy yet Beautiful ambience of the alien planet
I loved this game in my childhood. After rediscovering the game and the most amazing and active community I’ll stick around this Chanel, modders and everything related to this game ❤️
The way I like to “play” carnivores is shoot a T Rex, relocate across the map say at the edge of the ocean or cliff, wait for the t rex to show up and give me my dose of adrenaline
12:38 AAAAAH! I've been waiting so dang long for this answer! I just assumed I got some rickety ass version of the game online and the patch was a dud. You just made my day dude.
Excellent hunting tips Saurian! Especially the wind indicator tip. That thing always confused me. By the way, sorry if you get this a lot, but are you going to do a video on the mod Carnivores Mandibles? I've been playing the beta and exploring some of the game's lore and I think it may surpass Triassic on the story telling.
@@SaurianTarget Cool! Can't wait to see your showcase of that mod! Also, I started using some of the techniques you showed in the video and I've been getting pretty good results! Thanks again for the tips!
That enthusiastic intro! Sounds like someone's having a great day, eh, Garrett? Listening to the ambiance via surround sound is super great for people who can HEAR ON BOTH SIDES, lol. Also, thanks for the tip about using a fan while rendering, Garrett; it's been super helpful!
My strategy for hunting carnivorous dinosaurs on Carnivores Dinosaur Hunter mobile: 1. Select Delphaeus Hills 2. Select the creatures you want to hunt 3. Select ONLY the pistol, radar and tranquilizers 4. Watch if there are dinos near ''safe zones'' (the swamp, the canyon, the outpost or the cape) and go there, if not, restart 5. Attract the Dino by spam calling or go after it, remember to keep close to the edge of you have to 6. When the dino sees you, you can jump off the cliff or wait, depends on where the dino is 7. Bring it down 8. If there are more creatures nearby, keep spamming calls, if not, I recommend shooting some pterosaurs before escaping 9. Profit.
The #3 tip is best utilized from a position where you can't be touched. This was my go to strategy when I played as kid because it meant I could focus on lining up my shot rather than trying to juke an angry Rex. The Ancient Temple, the spiral rock on Bamanshee Rocks, and the central mountain range on McRath Island are all great examples of spots where you have a safe vantage point from charging predators.
Using deep water helps, you can guide by chasing or luring them in lakes or oceans and that makes them slower, vulnerable and harder to kill you since they swim. You should make sure that it's not shallow water otherwise it won't work at all
Great video, despite how long I've played these there were a couple of tips that I'll keep in mind for next time I play, good combination of tips all around.
I actually never knew the blue meter in the bottom left was for wind I always just thought it was another compass since I always played the mobile versions where the two were combined
Sometimes when I’m near water I do what I call the “battleship tactic” where I stay close to the shoreline to see my target but not too close to where they can reach me so the water can slow them down and make it easier to deal with
Me:spawn near a t-rex with the worst wind possible Also me: I am not supposed to restart, I will get going to a better position before it smell me. *t-rex start charging* me: *bruh*
I am certainly better than I was years ago learning about the games and I have used pretty much all of these tips, but I have not improved easily nor quickly. I have often made the mistake of relying on crouching or rather moving too much in hopes of catching up, and it took me a long time to finally realize how to use the wind indicator and use the wind which does help greatly. Also I have yet to hunt without radar, it is a challenge to locate animals without them discovering you first.
Learning how to use observer mode and the wind indicator helped me out to survive a dilophosaurus in Carnivores Genesis by hearing it's sniffing and then going around it, so it couldn't smell me
One Tip I learned: When you play Carnivores 1, you'll be able to kill any dino with a single well placed shot of any weapon, however when you play C2, you may think you missed even if you hit the specified "weak" point. That's not the case, it simply means your weapon didn't do enough damage to take the dino out. This means you will have to use several follow up shots to bring it down. This makes it more important than ever to know what you're dealing with before you start up a true hunt as aggressive dinos, such as the rex, will make quick work of you even if you seemingly did everything "right".
Honestly. I keep Radar on constantly in almost every mod I play, BUT in the mods I play the islands are massive and in the mod, licensed dinosaurs aren't exactly the most common due to ALOT of huntable ambients which commonly have very difficult mortal zones and or spawn in groups or just have ALOT of HP. and ngl, Red Ceratosaurus used in the thumbnails looks kinda baller
For me i usually hunt dinosaurs from a high place like mountains or hills (the high ground option), waiting in the bunker in delpheus hills and lure certain types of carnivores in a good shot, water and luring the carnivorous dinosaurs makes it impossible for them to hide in the brush, if hunting a trex long range and close range work wait for the trex to roar giving you a few minutes to shoot the eye it also works perfectly if you teleport next to a trex so it gives you time to shoot the trex in the eye with the pistol as it roars.
My tip is go to the RES code, go to one animal(for example, Stegosaurus), change health to 1 and change point value to anything you want, be careful typing. Then save and go to the game/mod, and kill the animal and get all those points! Btw I just got a pc, and now I could play mods, and also I need some Carnivores sound effect mp3 files Also what do I need to do to be in the community
I've never been a great Carnivores player, but the past couple of days, I've been playing with the copy of the first game that you linked in one video description. I had to add a later 3DFX patch to get it to work though. It also only works with NGlide 2.10, and the Direct3D version was all messed up (same thing with Jedi Knight hardware mode). The sound is a little janky, but it works. Software mode works, but the sound still crackles at times. From the little I've played it, the game always seems to start you upwind from pretty much everything. Hit the Call button and it's pretty much guaranteed that the response will come from downwind. I go across the entire map until I reach the opposite edge and finally have the wind blowing toward, I hit the call button, and the response comes from the side of me, so that when I turn toward it, I'm again, slightly upwind. ARGH! Then, even if you have the wind blowing perfectly in your face with the dino in front of you, you're 100% not moving, and crouched behind some plants, when it gets within a certain range, it will automatically sense you and run away. (default sensitivity setting) It doesn't even matter if it's facing you, it could be walking across your line of sight in the distance, but when it crosses that magical threshold, it will get scared and flee.
I used to play this game all the time when I was a kid and I'm recently rediscovering it. It's pretty nostalgic to go back to, even if it's a pain to work with at times. Any recommendations on mods that add dinosaurs? Not really sure which ones are worthwhile though I am playing Carnivores 2+. WAIT, YOU CUSTOMIZE HOW MANY DINOSAURS SPAWN? Where was this information 20 years ago. Thanks for the tips though, there's actually a lot of this I didn't realize applied to this game. I always enjoyed it but never knew it actually had this much depth to it.
I’d highly recommend Carnivores Triassic, Far North, Mandibles, Jurassic Park Hunter Legends, and Jurassic Park Revolution. They’re among the top-tier mods and I think you’ll really enjoy them!
(note this is only for carnivores reborn) go to shooting range and shoot as many pterodactyls as you can because even in the shooting range you can get 5 gems for each
I got used to never have camouflage and cover scent activated, like I've never felt they even worked, so I deactivated that to not get my points reduction since my early days on Carnivores
I, personally play mobile because I only have a phone but I’m working up to a PC, some of these tips actually made my life a whole lot easier playing carnivores than you can imagine!…PC is probably a lot better than mobile XD 5:28 “Leave double ammo on though that one is baller” His sense of humor never fails 😂
i play the ice age one on my phone, when i hunt predators i find some near water i get them to chase me then run into the water (it doesn't work on the birds) the predators won't go into the water
Just camping them from the water/cliff. I have gotten so good at staying still and just shooting that I don't need to move around. I just let my hands control. Also I do play it on mobile.
I always do this:you need a silent long range and close ranged weapon because when there is two dinos in you area use a silent weapon and after shoot the last dino with the loud weapon if it's far use the sniper nice tip aye?
Ah! Mind my speed and surroundings more! No wonder I’ve had such difficulty getting close to my quarries. I tend to go fast and furious because I HATE the rush hours and interruptions I been having of late. But if I ever find the time for some gameplay, I’ll try to put at least some of your tips to use. On an unrelated note, have ya heard of this show coming to Adult Swim called Primal? If you haven’t seen the trailers yet, you have GOT to check it out! It’s coming October 7 at midnight. And it’s a 5-night premiere to boot! Fair warning, however: the violence in the cartoon is brutal!
@@SaurianTargetI, for one, am increasingly stoked to see it, too! Hope it turns out good! I mean, it was made by Genndy freakin' Tartakovsky, for Pele's sake! Also, I pray Primal doesn't end up like Sym-Bionic Titan and MotorCity! But I digress. New subject, I don't you could put up a sound showcase per mod if ya find the time, could ya? Maybe post some menu theme music from the mods, even? I won't mind the wait. Just thinkin' out loud is all. Even if you don't or won't do so, I'm glad to talk to a fellow Carnivores fan, at least!
Meanwhile, I've only ever played the original game, where you don’t have to spend any points to select dinosaurs, weapons, or maps, so it's perfectly workable to hunt primarily from the mountain or lava temple. (Actually, I did try Carnivores 2 at one point, and the different kill mechanic was a turnoff for me; I much prefer having instant kill zones over having to take multiple shots.)

I got used to never have camouflage and cover scent activated, like I've never felt they even worked, so I deactivated that to not get my points reduction since my early days on Carnivores
Smart hunter 😎
I, personally play mobile because I only have a phone but I’m working up to a PC, some of these tips actually made my life a whole lot easier playing carnivores than you can imagine!…PC is probably a lot better than mobile XD
5:28 “Leave double ammo on though that one is baller” His sense of humor never fails 😂
Massive question
why does the wiki say that tylosaurus are in the game?!
i play the ice age one on my phone, when i hunt predators i find some near water i get them to chase me then run into the water (it doesn't work on the birds) the predators won't go into the water
When I hunt carnivores I look on the map lead them to the water and then shot them till they are down. It was very affective for ceratos.
Do ideas for next Carnivores sector
I actually have done these for three years already! However, I cannot play the games or mods anymore. Something screwed up my game.
When i was younger, I used observer mode all the time cause i don’t know how to switch back to hunt and if i do i’d be scared as hell
my favorite hunting tactic is charging head first into battle dual wielding machine guns
Let’s be real, the only tactic is just “shoot big alien that looks like dino to death.”
3:28 😳I was that guy
What i do in delphaus hills, is that i go into the ditch then the carnivores come and cant come inside
Just camping them from the water/cliff. I have gotten so good at staying still and just shooting that I don't need to move around. I just let my hands control. Also I do play it on mobile.
idk why, but even the first time i heard your voice, it sounded like "your local friendly neighbor you play with"
Also the most dirtiest in the book : teleporting atop the clliff so the T Rex wouldn't get you
Thank for your advice Saurian Target now I can play Carnivores like a pro not like the other days I was a noob
Saurian is truly an epic gamer
Saurian plz say ur a gamer plz plz plz xdddd
He said he isn’t. I know. Sad
Sad indeed :(
once i relocated and as soon as i saw the screen a spinosaurus ate me and good video keep up the good work
I always do this:you need a silent long range and close ranged weapon because when there is two dinos in you area use a silent weapon and after shoot the last dino with the loud weapon if it's far use the sniper nice tip aye?
When hunting Compy find a safe spout it has such a good tack
Yes! I'm extremely excited for Primal! I loved Samurai Jack and I'm hoping to love this one too!
The only problem I have is the hit boxes for mobile at least. They don't always register so it forces me to engage at a distance
