THIS IS SO COOL! I love how fluid Poseidon's form is- one minute he's a horse, the next he's huge and imposing, the next he's the size of a regular person who collapses into a wave. It's so perfect for the god of the ocean- something that's always changing. The memories of the people he loves at the end was so good too! Aaah this was incredible!

Honestly, I think he was even apologizing to Poseidon out of despair and grief. Odysseus knew he got bold when he blinded Polyphemus and revealed his name as mockery and unlike "Ruthlessness" he's sincerely asking for Poseidon's mercy. Even Poseidon stares at him with a dull look saying "I can't (let go)". Don't know, it kinda sounds like even Poseidon has grown tired of this and acknowledged Odysseus' despair but really can't bring himself to let him walk away. What do you think, man?

Jorge recently came out and pointed out how, if you listen closely during Odysseus's plea to Poseidon for forgiveness, you can hear him doing so to the melody and instruments associated with Poseidon. Which makes Poseidon's rebuke all the more raw.
Finally a mature, old, withered Odysseus. Sick of the pathetic twink everyone draws him as despite being a grown man in war, ten years of violence and ten more years at sea he'd be like 60 and rugged. Thank you.

This is brutal. Your Poseidon is terrifying, with the way he uses water to fleet around and shapeshifting it and himself. The horror-filled look in Odysseus's eyes, only for it to turn red at the very end, because he's turning into a different beast now. I got chills.
This by far is my favorite Poseidon I've seen, just the expressions, the trident from the hair pin, and how up close and personal he gets just *chefs kiss*
This is my favorite animatic of this song, we can see the different facettes of Poseidon and Odysseus here - Poseidon starts by being extremely intimidating to Odysseus, scaring him nearly half to death by his presence alone and the clear anger the literal God standing before him is showing - Then Poseidon relishes in the fear he installed in Odysseus, taunting him with how close this mortal is to reach his goal and finally end his perilious journey, he even delights himself in a way by announcing that he can't let him through, acting quite friendly in some kind of powerplay right before turning cold and commanding - When Poseidon realizes that his ordering of Odysseus to end his life didn't work, he resorts to threats against his family, his kingdom, his entire home and everything he's been wanting to come back to since the very beginning of his journey, Odysseus' fear only grows stronger since he knows very well that Poseidon can and most likely will do as he claims if he doesn't give up - Poseidon still doesn't manage to intimidate Odysseus and decides then to resort to describing in further detail how he'll torture his son and in a desperate attempt, Odysseus begs him for forgiveness and mercy, which of course never reaches Poseidon's ears. On top of the verbal violence increasing with each new verse, this animatic also shows Poseidon actively trying to drown Odysseus, breaking apart his raft until the mortal finally sinks down into the abyss of his kingdom, Poseidon's anger is also shown through how beastly he is compared to other animatics I've seen, he takes so many forms including those of creatures like horses which he also is the God of, but the angrier he gets, the darker his features become with bright contrasting turquoises adding accents where pupils, teeth, spines or even whole eyes should be. In short, this is now my favorite animatic, sorry for the poorly ponctuated and written essay, this is still a solid 10000/10 though

"TW:Horror" And I said: Promise? I love when animators make the gods scary. The moment I saw the visual of Telemachus I knew this was something special. The nightmare horse form (the entire transformation really), how the sea and visually everything shakes at 0:08, the use of lighting on Poseidon's giant face at 0:40, the flash of an obscured face with realistic eyes at 0:54 that definitely feels inspired by modern internet horror, it all works great. Love the vision, really.

OKAY This has to be my favourite version of Get in the Water so far! What an absolutely FANTASTIC video oh my gosh. Will be re watching this one EVERY time I want to hear this song. Beautiful art, haunting, heartbreaking, intimidating. 10 out of 10 stars and ALL the 'wow's'. I was just watching someone else react to this version, and as soon as I finished watching it there, I hopped off their video to come find this for myself and make sure I'd left a like. Just phenomenal!
Okay I was done the minute Poseidon's monstrous head popped out of the water like a demon blocking Odysseu's way, so I can't even imagine Odysseus's terror. And that moment when he morphed into Telemachus and just...dissolved, eeaagh. Your particular way of animating Poseidon's overwhelming menace is so creepy and effective, he feels as inhuman as he is, and Odysseus all too mortal in his grasp.
Love this so much! Its my headcannon that Hades allowed those souls to help him. Your animation really fits that idea that its really not just memories but souls appearing.
Poseidon: Get in the water! Also Poseison: literally slams raft with Ody on it but doesn't hold him down to drown. Shoots a jet of water at Ody's face that could've decapitated him but it only wets him. Picks him up with his bare hand and could've crushed Ody and the raft but grabbed his face in a second of fanservice then threw him. All the times to drown Odysseus but instead toys with him until he actually does attempt to drown him but its too late because Odysseus's memories triggered the willpower and urge to live and indirectly make him the very thing the Sea God's been taunting him with. The same thing happened with Death when he tries killing Puss, he whistles that chilling song while hunting him down until Puss has a final moment flashback of those he loves and met along the way that kept him from giving up and fight. Both entities are the same in a way their arrogance was their undoing 😂😂😂😂
Its exactly that ! I wanted poseidon to toy with him and make him feel hopeless. I know that to him its a greater victory if ody obeys and gets in the water. It would mean he ultimately lost and admits it

There's a lot to love about this animatic, and I'm having a hard time picking an absolute favorite part, but I strongly agree. The moment is so unnerving, and it's the first animatic I've seen where Poseidon feels like this much of a threat with no hope whatsoever of Odysseus escaping alive.

I really love the way you drew Odysseus at 2:48. As he believes he is moments away from death, the absolute despair and terror on his face is perfectly executed. This is one of the coolest takes on "Get In The Water" I've seen yet! Your Poseidon ranks up there with the best of them- I love how you make it feel like he can't even CONTROL his shapeshifting due to his rage, and you're one of the few who truly conveys that when Ody asks "aren't you tired," YES, Poseidon is tired but he doesn't know any other way to be! I also love how you showed the "waiting" sequence with such a fond flashback with his crew. He might have given the survivors up, but it weighs on him greatly because he genuinely loved them like family. Well done! Wonderful job.
I've seen so many different animatics of this song, but in the end its this one that I find the best. The depiction of Poseidon and his godly nature was done just so good here.

Jorge recently came out and pointed out how, if you listen closely during Odysseus's plea to Poseidon for forgiveness, you can hear him doing so to the melody and instruments associated with Poseidon. Which makes Poseidon's rebuke all the more raw.

This is brutal. Your Poseidon is terrifying, with the way he uses water to fleet around and shapeshifting it and himself. The horror-filled look in Odysseus's eyes, only for it to turn red at the very end, because he's turning into a different beast now. I got chills.

This is my favorite animatic of this song, we can see the different facettes of Poseidon and Odysseus here
- Poseidon starts by being extremely intimidating to Odysseus, scaring him nearly half to death by his presence alone and the clear anger the literal God standing before him is showing
- Then Poseidon relishes in the fear he installed in Odysseus, taunting him with how close this mortal is to reach his goal and finally end his perilious journey, he even delights himself in a way by announcing that he can't let him through, acting quite friendly in some kind of powerplay right before turning cold and commanding
- When Poseidon realizes that his ordering of Odysseus to end his life didn't work, he resorts to threats against his family, his kingdom, his entire home and everything he's been wanting to come back to since the very beginning of his journey, Odysseus' fear only grows stronger since he knows very well that Poseidon can and most likely will do as he claims if he doesn't give up
- Poseidon still doesn't manage to intimidate Odysseus and decides then to resort to describing in further detail how he'll torture his son and in a desperate attempt, Odysseus begs him for forgiveness and mercy, which of course never reaches Poseidon's ears.
On top of the verbal violence increasing with each new verse, this animatic also shows Poseidon actively trying to drown Odysseus, breaking apart his raft until the mortal finally sinks down into the abyss of his kingdom, Poseidon's anger is also shown through how beastly he is compared to other animatics I've seen, he takes so many forms including those of creatures like horses which he also is the God of, but the angrier he gets, the darker his features become with bright contrasting turquoises adding accents where pupils, teeth, spines or even whole eyes should be.
In short, this is now my favorite animatic, sorry for the poorly ponctuated and written essay, this is still a solid 10000/10 though

Oh my holy hell this is my favorite get in the water animatic, and my favorite Poseidon design. I like the amount of horse in it. (This is a positive thing). I also like Polites and Eurylochus and his mom and the scenes with him happy aaaaaahhh this is incredible

I love when animators make the gods scary. The moment I saw the visual of Telemachus I knew this was something special. The nightmare horse form (the entire transformation really), how the sea and visually everything shakes at 0:08, the use of lighting on Poseidon's giant face at 0:40, the flash of an obscured face with realistic eyes at 0:54 that definitely feels inspired by modern internet horror, it all works great.
Love the vision, really.
@@themelodramatist thank you !! Including horror content was challenging I had to use lots of creepy imagery as ref and the more i look at it the less it looks scary to me so i was worried it wouldnt deliver but I'm SO GLAD it actually did hehe
@@messymoonmess As a horror enthusiast, I can relate to stuff getting less outright scary. Less stuff scares you as you get used to it, so in the end it's stuff I know is generally scary and the vibe I get that makes me go "Oh that's cool!"

OKAY This has to be my favourite version of Get in the Water so far! What an absolutely FANTASTIC video oh my gosh. Will be re watching this one EVERY time I want to hear this song. Beautiful art, haunting, heartbreaking, intimidating. 10 out of 10 stars and ALL the 'wow's'. I was just watching someone else react to this version, and as soon as I finished watching it there, I hopped off their video to come find this for myself and make sure I'd left a like. Okay I was done the minute Poseidon's monstrous head popped out of the water like a demon blocking Odysseu's way, so I can't even imagine Odysseus's terror. And that moment when he morphed into Telemachus and just...dissolved, eeaagh. Your particular way of animating Poseidon's overwhelming menace is so creepy and effective, he feels as inhuman as he is, and Odysseus all too mortal in his grasp.

Its my headcannon that Hades allowed those souls to help him. Your animation really fits that idea that its really not just memories but souls appearing.
Poseidon: Get in the water!
Also Poseison: literally slams raft with Ody on it but doesn't hold him down to drown. Shoots a jet of water at Ody's face that could've decapitated him but it only wets him. Picks him up with his bare hand and could've crushed Ody and the raft but grabbed his face in a second of fanservice then threw him.
All the times to drown Odysseus but instead toys with him until he actually does attempt to drown him but its too late because Odysseus's memories triggered the willpower and urge to live and indirectly make him the very thing the Sea God's been taunting him with.
The same thing happened with Death when he tries killing Puss, he whistles that chilling song while hunting him down until Puss has a final moment flashback of those he loves and met along the way that kept him from giving up and fight. Both entities are the same in a way their arrogance was their undoing 😂😂😂😂
Its exactly that ! I wanted poseidon to toy with him and make him feel hopeless. I know that to him its a greater victory if ody obeys and gets in the water. It would mean he ultimately lost and admits it

There's a lot to love about this animatic, and I'm having a hard time picking an absolute favorite part, but I strongly agree.
The moment is so unnerving, and it's the first animatic I've seen where Poseidon feels like this much of a threat with no hope whatsoever of Odysseus escaping alive.

I really love the way you drew Odysseus at 2:48. As he believes he is moments away from death, the absolute despair and terror on his face is perfectly executed. I can understand everything he is feeling in this instant.

I love, how we dont only see poseidon controling the water, but BEING it. His unpredictability through this makes him so much more godlike 🌊
This is one of the coolest takes on "Get In The Water" I've seen yet! Your Poseidon ranks up there with the best of them- I love how you make it feel like he can't even CONTROL his shapeshifting due to his rage, and you're one of the few who truly conveys that when Ody asks "aren't you tired," YES, Poseidon is tired but he doesn't know any other way to be!
I also love how you showed the "waiting" sequence with such a fond flashback with his crew. He might have given the survivors up, but it weighs on him greatly because he genuinely loved them like family.

I've seen so many different animatics of this song, but in the end its this one that I find the best. The depiction of Poseidon and his godly nature was done just so good here.
