Great job on this video, Vampy. One other thing I've noticed; as I put a brand new bobbin on, it's a bit more noisy, but spinning for just a bit seems to settle it in and it quiets down. I've done most of the mods you've used here, and my Nano is super quiet. I spun in the airport, and on a long flight with no noise problems to bother other travelers.

Thank you for this video! I've applied your suggestions to my nano and it's helped so much! It's easier to see it done sometimes than to see the comments about how to do it :)

Thanks for the great tips! I'm waiting for my Nano to arrive, so looking forward to trying these great ideas.

Thank you so much for this! Just putting the felt washers (I used quilt batting) at each end, sanding the mold lines, and turning my flyer arms a bit made all the difference for me. :)

What a great video! Thank you, thank you, thank you. You took a lot of the mystery and fear out of this for me. I was afraid I would ruin it, and now I am not....you’re the best!

Hi Vampy, I'm fairly new to Spinning, I use Drop Spindles.
I've got 10 of them, I love using them. I just asking if you think this Wheel is good for Newbies. I've been thinking of getting one, I don't have room for a conventional wheel, also I wouldn't be able to use the treadle.
Thanks for all the information you have putting into this video.
    Happy Spinning.
    Take care & stay safe.

If you can already spin on spindles, then you should be able to spin on the nano just fine. It's a little fussy about how you set it up, it doesn't like to have lots of tension, and likes to spin fine yarns. If you're mostly wanting to stay at the fine end of the spectrum, then you'll be fine... there are people who have never spun before who learned on the nano, so it's certainly doable for someone who can already spin. If you want a more versatile spinner and would like to spin art yarns/thicker yarns, or just want larger skeins, then the EEW 6.0 is a great option, it's bigger than the nano but still portable, and is much less fussy about the settings you use. It's also faster and quieter.

@@vampyyy Hi Vampy, thankyou so much for replying so soon. I think its probably time I bought one.. its mainly think yarns that I get on my Spindles.
I've also saved this video, so I can do the troubleshooting for when I do get one.
      Thanks again for your advice.
      Happy Spinning.
      Take care and stay safe.

Joyce Mcclure either way it’s probably a tension problem.

Vampy thank you so much for the video -- I have learned a lot! I do have 2 questions --
1)At 5.30 into the video you are discussing where the bobbin hits on the flyer I believe , the difficulty I am having is everything been discussed has exited the filming window :-( I am wondering if you have completed a second video about this and if so could you please post a link.
    2) where did you purchase your Super Lube? ( went online but can not find the tube like you have)
As a visual learner this video has been a great learning tool for me so thank you very much for taking the time to show us all the small tricks to this wonderful little spinner even better!

If you line up your bobbin alongside your flyer, you'll be able to see where the two will be touching when assembled. Alternatively, just look where I apply the tape in the video, as that's where the two touch.
