Best video ever! I am starting a frag tank with all my highend zoas and shrooms and scares the hell out of me to put such highend corals in a newly cycled tank! This never crossed my mind! Probably a good idea to add little by little as well! I am going to be using rubble on mushroom side or some large rock chucks(after I saw your yumea video with all the babies LOL) since I dont have sand could I still go through the ugly stage? Diatoms, hair algae ect? You make great videos so If you havnt already you should make one on starting a frag tank! Ihave a question. Ihave been picking up a lot of high end acans mostly as well. My initial plans were to pur zoas and shrooms together. Is it ok to add other corals to or do mushrooms and zoas produce toxins that might not be good fo rother corals. Also thinking of adding a damsel to frag tank. Should I add a fish after its cycled if so whats a good choice for a 20 g long with no lid!

Hello. You can still go through the ugly phase without sand. Hair algae and etc will grow on your racks, rock, rubble, etc. not having sand will not prevent this unfortunately.
You can have zoas and shrooms together with other corals as long as you understand that when you frag you should rinse / dip in tank water before going back in the system to remove some of the toxins and slime. Also, keep in mind quantity you are cutting. Don’t cut a large amount at 1 time, as 20 gallons is not a ton of water to disperse the slime into. I would also recommend running carbon after any cut to help absorb and released toxins.
As for fish, I would recommend putting in a reef safe fish or 2. Damsel would work fine.

Do you need to feed Feather duster?

Hello. You do not have to feed feather dusters. They filter feed plankton from the water column. However, it would be beneficial if you added live phytoplankton to the tank.
